Brassed Off (1996)
Pete Postlethwaite died
May he rest in Peace! This was the best brass music film I have ever seen and it wouldn't be the same without the ill conductor, who overcame his illness and came to conduct the miner's orchestra of the already fired workers of a closed coal mine. The movie enlightens with the beautiful brass music-especially the "William Tell's overture" from Rossini and the spirit of the musicians, who won a nationwide contest of brass orchestras and dedicated their victory to all the miners, who lost their work during the decline of the coal mining in the United Kingdom. The film shows the importance of the art for the existence of the sole human and the society even in times of turmoil.
The Karate Kid (2010)
You have to see it,and if you have already had-do it again!
First of all, nevertheless the film is a remake, I will not compare it, because I have not seen the first or any other "Karate kid".The film has enough own qualities to catch me.This film is with kids, but not a children movie. There are several reasons to see this film. The first one is Jackie Chan. Here we see him in a dramatic role of a man, closed for the world. He does not play his usual roles of himself, being in the center of mass destruction, but opens his character slowly to the audience. He does it so well, that you cannot notice him at the first appearance, if you do not know, that this would be exactly him. The second reason is China and Beijing. The film is made there and the scenery is real. The third reason are the kid-actors and especially Jaden Smith.I have not seen him in other films and when I saw the movie for first I did not know that he is Will Smith's son.He has a talent for sure. With all the filming tricks this boy has trained a lot to perform the role and deserves applause. The music is making the film complete. There are "goofs" in the film of course, but none of them is important. The actors play so well,so you forget that this is a film.
The Twilight Saga: New Moon (2009)
I liked the film
The film is generally good and I don't see why most of the comments are negative. This book is hard for filming, because this is an emotional, but not full of action story. You must not blame the director or the others from the staff. They have done their job absolutely fine. Some of you say the dialogs are not good, but simple-this is Bella, the Charlie's daughter and they don't speak a lot. Some say that Kristen Steward was not playing well.I don't think so.The book tells about the "numbness" that Bella try to hold instead of the "pain from the hole in her chest". How do you expect to play numbness if she is more emotional. This is neither a Gothic nor a fantasy story-this is just a love story. If some have expected anything Dracula-type, this is not their movie. There is no controversy between the Good and the Evil. This is just a story for an impossible love.
Dogma (1999)
The great Alan
I am very fond of his manner of acting, especially his voice. He talks absolutely brilliantly. He is the the only man,who can impress the audience, while saying few words in his special way.I saw him for first in the Potter series and than I searched for other films, where he played.Soon I heard him playing Marvin in the Hichhiker's guide. You have to hear this role to know what I speak about.
I liked the film and I am not interested what is written in the Bible-this is another story and this not a film for the Bible. If someone want to criticize the film about its attitude to the Catholic church-it is easy not to watch this movie.
Mat Damon...-another good role of his.
Kingdom of Heaven (2005)
a nice,easy for understanding film
Hello!
Thanks to all, who'd liked to read my words.
When I saw it for first I found the story interesting, then I checked it,was it true or false and I found that even it is mostly an Utopia,I liked it.The historical facts are not the most important base of any story.Stories are called so,because they are what they are,but not textbooks. Many things are changed or conjured only to show how the World was to be,not how it was.
Orlando Bloom didn't make his best role. The role of his life is Legolas from The Lord of the Rings, but even though he fits the character of Balian.
Verano azul (1981)
The same it was for me
Yes,it was great, that The Bulgarian TV showed it.It is true that this was something very different from the other films we had seen.It was the only story of its kind for the puberty then.We did not use to see films from Western Europe and they were not supposed to show, that life went normally in the West.I still remember the scene when Javi was made to dive in a pool with all his clothes by two nasty behaving girls and then he took off all of his clothes, even his speedos as a protest, and then he was punished by his father, who called him an "exhibitionist".We have never thought of such kind of protest and I remember we commented this scene even in class and the teachers told, that that came from the Western manner of life.Yeah,we commented the film and liked all the actors.A day or two ago I heard the song from the film and it made me drop a tear for my own childhood, which I will ever connect with these series.
