Fatal Attraction (1987)
Really effected me.
There was only two movies that really got to me. One was " Easy Rider", and this one. To give you an idea how bad this hit me .My wife and I had just came out of this movie. She went to use the ladies room. When she came out she found me on the floor in the lobby ! I had just broken up with another women who had said some of the same lines word for word by Glenn Close ! At the time the movie wasn't even out ! I have yet to see the movie again ! It was a good movie...just hit to close to home as they say.
Moonshine Highway (1996)
Have not seen a good movie with in awhile. This one was great entertainment !
Caught this movie on free movie on Netflix. I liked "Thunder Road " by Robert Mitcham wasn't disappointed in this one ! You've see Randy Quaid in comedy movies, but this one will show his other talents. He is the "Crooked cop" here. The other actors also add a lot to the storyline as well. I also like stories with unsuspected endings you don't see coming. I won't reveal it here, but you'll just have to see the film's ending. I wish DVD movies were still on a full screen widescreen movies I pass on. I'd like to have this one on full screen .and more in full screen. It's like being right there.
Any Day (2015)
Sorry,but I disagree ....
I just watched this. I guess I look at movies different then most. The story about an ex prisoner trying to start his life over, and the folks who would not "hire an ex- con". I have never for heard of the man actor, or the boy ,but the ladies Eva, and Kate ,and Tom Arnold .I never liked Mr. Arnold's being silly in his past work , but this serious role as the restaurant guy who took a chance on the Ex-con showed his caring for another guy down on his luck. This was well written, and well acted , and made you hope that if you do things right, even after you have messed up...things will improve in your life by making amends of your wrongs.
Law & Order: Special Victims Unit: Chameleon (2002)
My favorite episode.
This is my favorite episode. Sharon Lawrence is one of my favorite actress. She always plays "nice women",but in this one she is on the other side of the law.She shoots a rapist the cops have already been looking for.The part where she tries to seduce Det. Stabler in the in the interrogation room is fun to watch. The comment made "Better get Stabler out of there, before she takes off all her clothes". The funniest line I've ever heard on any Law,and Order Series, outside of Lenny Brisco's funny comments he makes. Then there is another twist in the story. Then there is the kid she has. That makes another turn in the story unexpected.Where did she get the kid ? The kids age really changes things. You have to see the it until the very end....then there is another unexpected twist in the story I won't give away.
Outrage (1973)
Saw this once years ago.
Robert Culp was a good actor back then, and got better over the years in "I Spy". You could feel his anger build up every time the "Punks" did something to him,and his family. I actually still have the car magazine that featured the yellow 1956 Chevrolet Nomad station wagon used in the movie. Not as famous as the "American Graffiti" 32 coupe,or the "The Calafornia Kid"34 Ford coupe, but was still a cool ride. Being a young guy when I saw it,and a dog lover...the killing of the dog upset me a lot. That's when I got as upset as Mr. Culp did, because it upset his kids. I have forgotten how the movie ended. It should be a good lesson on "Karma".Hope it gets released on DVD someday.
Rizzoli & Isles (2010)
One of my favorite shows
I like Angie Harmon on Law & Order. When they set her up with Sasha Alexander I knew there was a hit. Angie ( The Tomboy),and Sasha ( The prim & proper lady who knows style)feeding off each other is funny !Then the there was Bruce McGill who I've watched for years, and loved his work. To top it off they had Loranne Bracco. I was hoping Loranne would look like she did in "Googfellas" movie. She looked real hot in that movie ! This is just not another crime, cop show. They added humor between the cast members which makes the show. The rest of the cast adds a lot to the show also.Well written scripts help make it fun to watch.
Law & Order: Punk (1998)
This is the episode that upset me the most...
When Brisco, and Green find Charlie Tyner murdered, and it leads them to the women's prison, and what goes on there. When Abby Carmichael has to go after Cara Buono. Abby turns on the selfish attitude towards Cara from her previous run in with Cara, where Abby over charged Cara. Then Abby blames Cara for all that has happened to her while in prison.I always like it when Daniel Melnik is defending her,or anyone. She is good. Her best question was to the guard "How is she to know that someone is there for her"? The guard replied "I guess not". That made the whole case. Then in the end Abby admits to being raped in college to her boss. It showed us that Abby had an agenda against Cara to hide her feeling on what happened to her years ago.Abby was wrong on all counts.I have run up against this treatment in the legal system before. The acting was great by everyone involved.
The Neon Empire (1989)
I love this Classic Gangster movie
I have this on VHS. If your into the history of Las Vegas...This comes real close.Ray Sharkey, and Gary Busey carry the movie, when Ray tries to move in on Gary's business. Martin Landau really tries to keep the lid from blowing every thing up that Ray is trying to do. Linda is a real treat to watch. Then she got ran off the road. Shows just how far the New York gangsters will go to take over. That includes shutting the town down from outsiders To see some of the old casinos that are not around anymore is a real treat for us who have been there years ago. The new casinos now don't hold the history of the old ones. Not to be missed, great story line.
Little Fauss and Big Halsy (1970)
I loved it just for the story.
I saw this on TV years ago.Robert Redford, and Michael Pollard, and Laurn Hutton were unknowns then. The parents of Michael's in the movie I felt sorry for. They were trying to get Michael to see through Redford's "con job". I liked this so much...I went out,and got the soundtrack on a 8 track ! I did notice that all the songs on the 8 track were not all in the movie, but all the songs were great on the 8 track.I wore the tape right out. Sure would like the soundtrack reissued,as well as the movie. I consider this as one of Redford's best work, right up there with "The Sting" another one of my favorites. The motorcycle scenes were well filmed, and real accurate. To see "Sears Point" which has been close. That was a real treat. The ending was real good. The places in life of both guys did change. One moved on.The other was still going backward.
The Devil's 8 (1969)
The only part I remember in the movie was...
a guy in a blue Dodge, and guy out side the car training the guys with a hand grenade. He tells the guy in the car to go to the end,and drop it into the barrel. The guy complains, and the trainer guy "Pulls the pin",and says "Shut-up...you've got 10 seconds"! I remember them raiding the still. Was made in 1969 I thought the movie was older than that. There was a lot of good "Moonshine" movies that are now classics of the film noir "Thunder Road","The Roaring Twenties" with James Cagney, and Hunphry Bogart. I consider this movie a classic.Christopher George went on to do TV shows. Was a good actor. does anyone know if this is on DVD?
A Great American Tragedy (1972)
I like this film.
It starts out with a guy,and his family who have worked all their lives to get ahead, and he loses his job. A lot of people are going through that now. George Kennedy, and Vera Miles do a real good job of trying to keep the marriage together through tough times. This shows how what happens to one person effects everyone around Mr. Kennedy. The movie must have been shot in not very many locations,as the back yard is seen in most of the movie. You have to remember this film was made back when the story was more important than the "special effects" films that are being made today. It had a good ending. I like movies with good endings.I haven't seen it in a long time. Would like to find it on DVD.
Law & Order: Special Victims Unit: Haunted (2004)
Who was the actress who played the lady that Tutuola was helping look for her grand daughter?
Who was the actress who played the Mom that Tutuola had put a gun to her head, and told her to leave while he was doing undercover work? I thought that was cool when she said "Thank You" at the end.I think his son should have stayed at the hospital to get better acquainted with his dad. Tutuola's partner should have went into the store sooner. This was a good story, with a good ending. It was nice of the captain to help out when they found there was a lab involved. This is always a good show, well acted, and pretty close to what happens in real life.I hope this show has a long running series. It's nice they have the stories change in the middle,so you don't know who the real bad guy is.
The Lost Child (2000)
Having gone through this..it hit home.
Having been adopted, and had a daughter given up for adoption, and going through the adoption process to try an adopt, and finding my bio-sisters in 1997. The movie doesn't show the real reactions of the people around you when this happens. The reactions by those in the movie seemed "sugar coated",not every one in real life are not always that supportive as they were in the movie. The story was well written, and acted. Mercedes Reul, and Jamie Sheriden did their parts well. The better movie to see how different members of a family would react would be "Secrets & Lies". It's along the same lines, but more conflict is involved than this.I enjoyed both movies. I have a copy of this on VHS.I am going to find it on DVD.I give this a 10.
Seven Sweethearts (1942)
I helped restore a boat that the movie was being made on .
I helped restore a boat that Van Heflin, and Kathryn Grayson were on.The movie was made in Saugatuck,Michigan. This boat was named the "Karab" at the time. Was owned by Karl Irwin. In 60 yrs this boat has only had 4 owners ! It is listed as the third oldest boat still on the Great Lakes. The picture shows the movie crew on the boat, and the other sisters that were in the movie when it was docked at the "Badlands" hotel which burned down. This boat was a 1923 Defoe built in Bay City,Michigan. I looked for over a year to find the movie.Didn't know it was a musical. I had to get help from MGM to find out what type of movie it was. I have a poor quality of the movie, and the boat was not seen in the movie. I like good musicals with a good story line, and this was done just right.
