Modern Love Chennai (2023)
Good to watch
This anthology is very well executed and good to watch. All the episodes are different from one another and couple of them even with long conversation between characters, it is not boring at all. Whether it is background score or songs, the music is top notch. I was not expecting much on this anthology and liked it a lot.
As usual episode by TK is completely different and his style is unique. Ilayaraja even at his age brings out a refreshing music that suits well with all the episodes. This is a surprising treat to watch all these 6 episodes. It would have been better to have two more episodes.
Uthiri Pookkal (1979)
One of the best film I ever watched
I watched this film recently. Though I heard from my elders and I was very young at that time, I rented this movies now. I was surprised to see such a nice movie and all the credit goes to the director. With less and meaningful dialog (not like meaningless in maniratnam's movie) this movie is told visually. The leading actor Vijayan has done a excellent roll in this movie. In fact all the roles have done their role well. I am still wondering how come this director did not become famous as others. When other directors are creating movies for radio, this movie stood out as visual treat. Portrayed a very nice, small and traditional village. No gimmicks, no magic but a drama with a reality touch.

What a waste of Time and Money
Kamal is a one of the good actor and few films like Salangai Oli, Mahanadhi, Nayagan can only be done by this actor. Having said that he totally wasted more than a year to create this crap. The crap became 10 times multiplied due to his 10 roles. If Kamal has to retain his legendary title, he should avoid his writing and only concentrate in his acting. This is my personal review and I sincerely beg everybody to write/read with the open mind. The plot(???) is that there is a relation for every incident that happens in this world. Does this movie unfold the knot of this plot? I doubt! Look at the movie like CRASH or BABEL which follows the same strategy in screenplay. Even Ayutha Ezhuthu by Maniratnam handled it pretty well. But not in this movie.
The Jungle Book (1967)
I love this movie
I bought the DVD for my kid to watch it. She likes to watch it everyday and by her side I too sit and watch. Slowly I myself like the songs and the animation done for that. The elephant parade, chimapnzees dances are always fun to watch. I am happy to give 10/10. The animation now is changed to complete computer graphics which almost resembles the actual movie. But IMHO the man made animation are great than those. Sometimes the imperfections are great to watch. If my daughter does not feel good or she resists to take her food, we just play this movie and everything would be OK. Now I am started collecting old animation movies like this and hope that she enjoys that too.
