Massively Disappointing... and here's why...
22 March 2024
From "Reel Tunez: The Radio Show All About the Movies"...

What a huge disappointment! How could you have such a good cast, great history of a movie, and have such a weak story, script, and terrible directing??

We know that when we expect too much from a movie, it can be a let-down. When I saw who was in this, I did have high hopes, but at no point in this movie was I ever "wowed".

Where to start. The movie starts off without any real set-up, and it was almost like everyone assumed you'd love it from the second you saw the "Ecto1" (Ghostbuster ambulance).. but there really was no set-up or slightest bit of development between the last movie (Afterlife) and this one. (By the way, "Afterlife" was much better).

For me, this is the second worst behind "Ghostbusters Answer the Call" (with Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, and Kate McKinnon).

The big problem with this movie is the storyline just stinks! Tired, old, unsurprising. The directing was poor at best, and a ton of dumb inconsistencies (like people standing around in T-shirts outside in freezing weather.. but not cold???)

Where Rick Moranis was great in the first movie as the funny bystander to all the ghostly happenings, Kumail Nanjiani was lame in his role in this movie as "Nadeem".

The worst part is that Paul Rudd, Dan Aykroyd, and Bill Murray were nothing short of campy and hammy playing their roles. I WANTED to love these guys re-living these characters, but couldn't have been less interested in them due to the poor character writing and development on this script.

No movie.. no matter what it's "predecessor" movie or history can ever be good if the script stinks and the direction is terrible.. and this definitely had both.

Booooo! (both a ghost pun and what I thought of the movie!) I'd give "Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire" a 4 out of 10. Watch it at home for free, but not worth a $9 movie ticket and $20 worth of movie snack!!

I Want Two Hours of My Life Back!!!
31 December 2023
To say this movie was LAME is an understatement! It started our mildly interesting making me wonder where this was all going to lead... and it NEVER even begun to answer that question. I really HATE movies that simply feel like lazy writing. There were a few a few moments and times that really seemed like we were in for something very interesting... and then, we weren't!

This won't give anything away, but don't expect ANY sort of ending or any sort of explanation. This is why I say "lazy writing". It's like starting a race and walking off the track without any explanation or reason.

I'm at a loss as to how they cast good actors in a movie that was written poorly... except for the fact that the book was MUCH more interesting. Heck... the PAGE NUMBERS of the book were MUCH more interesting than the movie!

I read a pretty bad review from someone.. who gave it a 6 out of 10. Six??? No wonder this thing LOOKS like it has a decent rating. You see some people give it a 10.. which REALLY makes you wonder what a classic movie would be rated if THIS thing is a TEN??!! For me, a 5 is the cusp of having some merit and maybe worth seeing, but barely. A 6 means some good stuff.. and worth seeing. A 7 is "this is a great movie". 8 is "holy mackeral", incredible movie! 9 is a total blockbuster.. probably in the "classic" status. And 10 truly means "one of the VERY best movies EVER made" (and a rating that should be extremely rare to ever see anyone give). This movie TRULY deserves a 2. Why not a 1? Because there were some scenes that were interesting. Acting was good. And some of the visuals produced were very well done. But overall, a completely LAME movie!

It's bad enough that you wish you hadn't wasted two hours of your life watching it.

Great Series... WAY too long between seasons!
31 December 2023
Each episode feels like a continuing full-length motion picture. The production value is high, and acting is excellent.. BUT production companies/networks taking YEARS between seasons is ridiculous. I watched the first two seasons of Game of Thrones, then finally decided I'd wait until the series was over to watch the whole thing. Plus, the way things go anymore, you might want to do this simply so a company doesn't simply "pull the plug" and leave you hanging as a viewer. No wrap.. no end. Just over. I really like Discovery, but my just wait until Paramount wraps the series up completely before I continue watching it. The way the production is going, we could wind-up being in season 9 and all the actors in their 60's! (I feel bad for the actors. This can't be a great way for actors to be cast. Not sure WHAT some of them do between seasons.)

Don't Expect Previous Wonka's - But Worth Watching & Why..
19 December 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Reel Tunez, The Radio Show All About the Movies - Movie Review (12/16/23): "Wonka". First thing to know is to NOT expect either previous version of the movie related to the character. It's neither Gene Wilder or Johnny Depp's version. It's not about a kid coming to the factory after getting a gold ticket. Nothing like that.. so don't expect it. This is Willy's return after going to Oompa Loompa Land and wanting to start making chocolate. Knowing that will help you by not having wrong expectations. In this case, Willie goes up against a "gang of three different chocolatiers" (one is Slugworth).

The movie is worth seeing.. and it's a movie event, but be aware that it certainly feels more like a stage play in some respect as the acting is "big".. as if exaggerated and animated, as if it's being played TO an audience.

Timothee Chalamet does a nice job as Willy Wonka, but he fortunately doesn't have the craziness of Depp's Wonka, but neither quite the warmth or interesting appeal as Wilder's Wonka. Don't expect Wilder or Depp's Wonkas, and that will also help your expectations.

Though this isn't a musical, there's a fair bit of music and songs in this new version. Some of the music is a bit campy, but some of the music and songs WILL bring back fond memories of the Gene Wilder version of "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory".

I can say that for about the first half of the movie, I really wasn't enjoying this new version of the movie much.. but after about half way through the movie, I started to like and appreciate this movie for what IT is, and not what it isn't (which is like the other two).

As I said, do NOT expect the previous other two Wonka movies and look for something completely new. If you go into it and keep a "clean slate" image and appreciate it as a brand new movie, I think you'll like it more.

Only other note is that Chalamet sings in the movie, and he's not bad, but he's also not as good as an actor like Hugh Jackman (who is an actor who is also an excellent singer.. and other similar actors with well-trained singing voices).

The story line is a good one, and the acting is very good by Wonka and the others who are "in debt" (you'll understand if/when you see the movie), but the actors portraying the chocolatiers and police are more like the over-acting characters from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (cartoonish in their over-acting). I'd give this movie a 6.2 and say that it's definitely worth seeing.. and seeing on a big screen. I think if the director had taken this movie a little less "Chitty Chitty-ish", I would be up in the mid 7 rating... or even a little higher. Go see Wonka at the theater!

Wretched!! Simply.. WRETCHED!
6 September 2023
From Reel Tunez, The Radio Show All About the Movies.

In fairness, maybe I'm the wrong demographic (Male/50's) for this movie.. but I did watch it with my wife. I can only describe it as wretched! It was seriously like watching people make up their lines and the storyline on-the-fly. It was so terrible, it was nauseating.

I didn't have high hopes for it simply because it didn't look interesting to me, so it was certainly not a matter of being let-down. It was like "Grease" meets "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" (but both Grease & RHPS are fun movies.. and I really liked them!) This had the campiness of Grease.. and the cheesiness of Rocky Horror. But the parts of those movies we liked or found endearing was complete absent in Barbie.

Visually.. I'd say it was certainly interesting. The premise of the movie also had some ability to be entertaining. But this thing was a massive waste of time in my book.

Though Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling are actors I like in many movies, it's so beyond campy that I couldn't even find it funny (though a few, VERY few, areas had some laughs). Maybe part of the reason I found the movie "wretched" is because it was as if the director actually instructed the actors "be as funny and over-the-top as you can". It was like watching the 1980's bad cast of Saturday Night Live TRYING to be funny. Simply painful to watch. This is a rare movie I'll never want to watch again. Ever.

Fun Movie.. Certainly Better than the first "H.M."
30 July 2023
Reel Tunez, The Radio Show All About the Movies - Movie Review (7/30/23): "Disney's Haunted Mansion"

This new Haunted Mansion is far better than Disney's previous attempt. The story line is good and so is the acting. Effects look good, as well as sets and digital creations.

Though at times it felt a little more like a Disney Channel Movie, it the cinematic quality makes this a great movie for the big screen.

There are a few fun cameos, and some well-known stars.

On a 1-10 scale, I'd give this about a 5.8. Keep in mind that rarely will you see a rating from me above an 8 or below a 3... and any movie below a 5.0 I consider not worth watching. So a 5.8 is a respectable score and worth catching at the theater.

Lots of Hype... But a Good Movie
30 July 2023
Reel Tunez, The Radio Show All About the Movies - Movie Review (7/29/23): "Oppenheimer"

Lots of hype over this 3 hour movie. Yes.. it was a very good movie, but it also dragged a bit and felt more like a documentary at times.

It's an interesting story.. which makes an interesting movie.. and the acting was very, VERY good. The production value was high and story flowed. But as mentioned, it did drag at times as it felt like it could have been more tightly edited to move the story along. The cinematography and scenery was beautiful, so I'd recommend it as a big screen movie.

On a 1-10 scale, I'd give it a 6.5. Reel Tunez rates movies on a 1 to 10 with a point scale. Anything below a 5.0 isn't (by our rating) worth watching.. and anything over a 5.1 has merit and worth watching. Unlike some who seem to feel every movie is a 9 or a 10, getting a rating THAT high is truly "cinematic art" to get that score. "Oppenheimer" is very good and certainly worth watching.

Paint (II) (2023)

Watching "PAINT" dry on a wall would be more entertaining!
9 July 2023
From "Reel Tunez, the Radio Show All About the Movies" (7/9/23): "Paint", starring Owen Wilson

Yawn! Really.. not a good movie. First, crank it up because half the movie is spoken in whispers. What a total let-down for what it COULD have been. The writing of the movie itself was WEAK.. at best! The script was previously awarded "the least likely script to be produced". It shouldn't have been. The character that Wilson plays resembles Bob Ross (of PBS) and he paints, but that's the end of any connection.

So unfortunate that the script was poor because the premise had so much potential to be great.

OMG.. so much inconsistency on the time frame and making that part make sense. Music soundtrack is 70's. Reference to Uber and Dancing with the Stars even though, in theory, it takes place in the 80's (probably). A little "realism" in just making a movie is nice (there is nowhere that a control room is IN the studio.. AND typically there are some wires going to the switcher's inputs if you are going to be switching stuff). It's called "attention to detail" that just adds a little to the movie. Otherwise a bunch of high school kids could have made it easily (with the lack of continuity and a touch of realism).

I will add one caveat. Watch past the beginning of the credits for a little "art inside joke" (if you know artists, you'll get it).

On a 1- 10 scale, I'd give it a 4.0. Keep in mind that my 1-10 scale has "probably worth a watch" at a 5 and up.. though a 5 wouldn't be a great movie (but might be worth watching). It's not too often I give such a low score, but this movie STUNK.

Don't have high expectations, but it is worth seeing.
1 July 2023
From Reel Tunez: The Radio Show All About the Movies.

Reel Tunez Movie Review (6/30/23): "Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny".

First, It was awesome seeing Indy back in action. The movie starts in 1969 but we get to see some different eras within this movie. The digital recreations of Harrison Ford worked, but computer recreations have yet to really capture the same emotion/personality/humanity/soul of people (and that's probably a good thing).

Effects were very good and Harrison Ford is a fine actor. Some of the previous Indiana Jones friends/characters in this movie were great to see again. Of course the actors are much older and it's conveyed in the movie and not really hidden... especially when Indy needs to take off running and some of the physical action (as expected).

As for the movie, I think the fact that I was really excited to see this movie, I was let down by it. Frequently, when you are looking forward to a movie and think how great it will be, you are often let down. Sometimes you expect nothing from a movie, so you're surprised you enjoyed it. In this case, really liking the Indiana Jones franchise, I felt the story line as more along the lines of Crystal Skull or the last movie. Really, for me, it just wasn't anywhere near as fun or cool as the first two Indy adventures.

Yes.. I believe this must really be the last adventure for Indy. Don't worry.. no spoilers here. I know Ford is getting up in age, but he's still a great actor, so I'm hoping there's more movies ahead for him ("Regarding Henry", 1991, was a BIG favorite of mine for him! If you haven't seen it.. it really IS a "must see".)

Overall, I'd give this about a 5.5 out of 10. Unlike IMDB's straight 1-10 (where some people ridiculously give anything and everything a 10), I look at a 5 as the tipping point. Anything above a 5 is worth seeing, and below is a turkey. When a movie hits a 6, it's a decent movie. A 7 really is a good movie. 8 and 9 are crazy good. And 10 is reserved for something that is really off-the-charts incredible (and likely to be a "classic"). So if you loved the franchise (like I do), YES.. see this last Indiana Jones, and be sure to see it at a good theater where the John Williams compositions and incredible audio are presented in their best quality.. and laser video projection to see how beautiful it looks. Don't go in even remotely thinking the story line will be half as fun as the first two and keep expectations a bit 'low', and you'll probably enjoy it more than I did. (Since IMDB does whole stars, I rounded it up to a 6 for this review on their site)

Horrible.. Waste of Time... Pointless & Plotless
4 June 2023
This movie was a total TURD! What is WRONG with people giving it a 10??! Ten is the ultimate classic in acting, production, story... and THIS is a ten?! The ratings are being stacked to make it appear like it is worth watching... and it's totally NOT! What an enormous waste of time! I was the equivalent of watching paint dry. To say I really hated it is an understatement. I really like Clooney movies.. and love sci-fi, but this movie just didn't have a point or even land anywhere. This movie made the TV series Lost in Space look like Star Wars in comparison. I want the two hours of my life back that were wasted watching this thing. Out of fairness, the sets looked good.. and the ship was decent, but the story line was all over the place, and it really made you wonder WHERE this was going. Without spoiling the bad movie, I tell you that the movie took you nowhere!! You'll end this movie (if you waste your time watching it) saying "REALLY??! Really.. that's the best you can do?" It truly ranks as one of the worst movies I've EVER seen!

Like a History Channel Documentary - Watch on TV
29 May 2023
Reel Tunez, The Radio Show All About the Movies review (5/29/23): "Blackberry"

If you like historic movies about technology.. movies that feel like a documentary or History Channel movie... then this is for you.

This is the true story of the meteoric rise and catastrophic demise of the world's first smartphone. At one time, 45% of the smart phones in use where Blackberry.. and now is about 0%.

Either the people at this company were the biggest nerds ever.. and goofballs.. or the movie was highly exaggerated. Lead actors were Jay Baruchel, Glenn Howerto, & Matt Johnson (who really, in my opinion, was cartoonish in his acting). It was fun to see Cary Elwes in this as well. You remember him from "The Princess Bride" as Westley.

Visually, this movie is fine on a TV screen at home as it lacks "big screen appeal". Audio is fine on a home TV or stereo (as even that doesn't merit the quality of Dolby Theater sound).

A dry movie that could be "tightened up" with better editing (some scenes were "beating the dead horse" over and over and dredged on. On a 1 to 10 scale with 10 being the best, I'd give it about a 5.5. I consider anything over a 5 having some merit to see.. and less that 5 is a waste of time. In my opinion the reviews are greatly over-rating this movie. When people rate something like this a 9 or 10, you really wonder what a REAL classic movie would rate??

Under-rated, Fun, Quirky, and Unique!
1 May 2023
From "Reel Tunez: The Radio Show All About the Movies": The entire movie is just a fun oddity. It's based the real life "healing spas" of the old days, which adds a unique layer of interest to the entire movie!

The acting is excellent on the part of everyone in this film, from the stars to the extras.

The "Laughing Song" is a hoot and treasure unto itself!

The production quality of the movie is wonderful... from lighting to audio is perfect! Though this movie isn't in theaters, it's cinematography is just stunning and so worthy of seeing on a big screen!

This is a fun quirky lesser-known movie and definitely worth the watch! Expect strange.. expect unusual.. expect quirky.. and expect something like a movie you've never seen, and I think you'll find this a cool movie.

Very good acting - More "documentary" feeling - Not a "big screen" type movie.
30 April 2023
Reel Tunez Movie Review (4/29/23): "Air"

With a pretty fantastic line up of actors including Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, Jason Bateman, Marlon Wayans, Chris Tucker, Viola Davis, & Chris Messina, this movie represents the history of shoe salesman Sonny Vaccaro (Damon), and how he led Nike in its pursuit of the greatest athlete in the history of basketball, Michael Jordan.

Acting is very good, and the story is interesting. It appears to only be "mildly exaggerated" for the movie compared to the real story, so it often feels a lot more like a documentary than a entertaining big screen movie.

You don't need to be a sports fan to enjoy this movie, though I suspect it might make it more interesting if you are into the NBA and Michael Jordan.

I'd give this about a 6.5 out of 10 mostly due to the acting. Not much to see when it comes to visuals, but they did pull a pretty sweet audio soundtrack from the late 70's and early 80's. Considering the story stands on it's own without exciting visuals, you could see this on your HD set at home and not miss much of the movie going experience by not seeing it at the theater. (I hate to say that because I really love supporting movies and thing motion pictures are best on the big screen.. assuming the theater makes an effort for beautiful projection, great audio, and comfortable theater, which isn't always the case.)

Again.. "Air" rates about a 6.5 out of 10 in my book. Worth seeing, but not necessarily at the theater.

Okay.. Not Great.. but just Okay.
19 March 2023
Reel Tunez, The Radio Show All About the Movies.. Movie Review (3/17/23): Shazam! Fury of the Gods

Billy and his foster siblings return. It was great to see the cast return, and the kid actors have grown up quite a bit.

To get to the skinny... It wasn't as good as the first Shazam!, and the character are not as likeable in this second movie. Also, something happens in the movie which is a big deal, then left completely unanswered (with a very recognizable actor who nearly had the role of an "extra" in what he does). So, it was pretty clear there was something written into this story meant to bridge this movie to another (whether Shazam! Or another).

The effects looked good, but the story itself just seems unfocused.

I want to add that I would not recommend this for any kid under pre-teen years. There's a a lot of violence and it's realistic enough to cause young kids a lot of distress.

Zachary Levi is a fine actor, but he's only as good as the writing.. and it wasn't the best.

On a 1 to 10 scaled, I'd give it a 5.8. Keep in mind that I think a movie at a 5.1 is worth seeing, and below that is a waste of time.. so by that, it's got value in seeing it, but not a great movie.

Not a Bad Movie.. but Not Great Either.. Something to Watch.
17 February 2023
Reel Tunez Movie Review (2/17/23): "Ant Man and the Wasp: Quantumania"

Have to say it certainly wasn't the best of the Ant Man movies. Nearly the entire thing was done with digital backgrounds and effects, and some looked pretty rushed and not "convincing" (at least for the ability of digital technology). The story line was fair, and seeing Bill Murray is always cool (though very short). Evangeline Lilly is an actress I enjoy seeing and think she's great, so that certainly helped the movie. But it just lacked the "pizazz" of the typical well-done Marvel action/adventure. I love to promote seeing movies AT the theaters because they should be a special experience, but the effects and digital animation may be more convincing on a big TV. It's another Marvel movie, so remember to stay until the very very end so you can see the extra stuff (one during credits and one after).

On a 1-10 scale, I'd give it a 5.6. Remember that my scale is tough (unlike others who seem to think a mediocre movie is a 7, and an okay movie is an 8). Above a 5 is something I consider worth seeing (you won't wish for the two hours of your life back), and 4.9 and under is a "regret". So I'd give this a 5.6.

I Laughed.. I Cried. But mostly CRIED!!
17 February 2023
From Reel Tunez: The Radio Show All About the Movies. I'm not sure WHY I decided to watch this. Maybe morbid curiosity?? I'd really like to say something (ANYTHING) nice about this, but I'm having trouble. Oh.. here's something: I was VERY happy when it was OVER. I think movies should offer money-back guarantees when they suck so much that you truly not only want your money back for the movie, but also the refreshments.. and that 2 hours of your life back!! To say this was a bad movie is an understatement. It's not even bad in a way that you could say you enjoyed it like a Trauma Pictures movie. If you could give a movie ZERO stars, this would be one of them.

What a Waste of Time! Lame! Booooooorrrrriiiinngg!
4 February 2023
From Reel Tunes.. The Radio Show All About the Movies... Things go bad on a flight.. but get worse after it comes down. The movie stars Gerard Butler and, for the most part, a bunch of people not so recognizable.

The movie is weak.. and really not good. I LAUGH when I see people saying "white knuckle" or "nail biter" and want to ask them "what part did YOU have in making this movie"? Seriously... a 7, 8, 9 or 10? Really??? Wonder if those people know that 10 is the max.. or whether they think its a 1 out of 100 scale?!

I have to say I thought it might be a good movie.. or at least fun to watch. It was neither. Acting wasn't good. Story was weak at best. Plot full of "stupidity". One a one to ten scale, I'd give it a 3. I'd simply say, don't waste your time.

Unwatchable Dribble! Hideous! 2+ Hours of Wasted Life!
28 January 2023
OMG... this thing is HORRIBLE!!! Not only do I want my $8 ticket price back, I want a refund of the concession money and, more importantly, the 2+ hours of my life back! Read the reviews and note that you should see this while stoned or insane to find enjoyment in this god-aweful thing! I see probably over 60 movies at theaters a year.. and hundreds outside the theater, and rarely do I find a movie that I can't find enjoyable in some aspect (from great story to wonderful acting, beautiful cinematography, great soundtrack... something), but this thing is SO bad that I rate it right down there with "Hot to Trot" (1988 /Bobcat Goldthwait). A movie SO bad that IMDB truly needs a ZERO star rating!! If you MUST see this, wait until it comes out on Betamax (NEVER!)

Mildy entertaining.. but campy with weak acting
21 January 2023
From "Reel Tunez, The Radio Show All About the Movies"...

The movie is mildly entertaining besides the fact that most of the actors are pretty bad. I hate to say that, but a couple of notable very bad include the boss ("David") and the detective who shows up at the house (the guy chewing gum so exaggerated that saying he chews like a cow doesn't begin to describe it). The problem with the acting is it's OVER-acting.

Effects were good and sets were decent, but it certainly was pretty cheesy.

On a 1 to 10 scale, I'd give this about 2 1/2. I wouldn't waste the money to see it at a theater. It's not worth that extra money, nor is it a "big screen movie" (not visually stimulating or interesting), but if it's on some streaming channel and there's nothing else on, then it might be worth a bag of popcorn and some wasted time.

Piece of Crap Movie.. Pure waste of time!
15 January 2023
This is seriously the WORST movie I've seen in the past five years. It has no direction and you keep watching thinking that MAYBE it would go somewhere (anywhere!!) Don't hold your breath as it doesn't! Not only does it not make sense nor have a direction, they simply didn't even bother with an ending!! That's not a spoiler.. it just doesn't end nor lead you to THINK you would know HOW it ends! This movie SUCKS! It has a single mildly funny scene... and one scene that makes you even wonder WHY they would have included it (sad & disturbing). Dont wait for this movie to get better.

It DOESN'T!!! I see at least one movie every week.. and still contend this is the WORST movie I've seen in 5 years (and in over 250 movies!)

Weird and Truly Hideous!
24 December 2022
What an UN-feel-good movie. Unpleasant. Uncomfortable. Weird. Ranks right up there with one of the worst movies I've ever seen. Sets, scenes, shots, camera work were all very good. Production quality was very good. And there was nothing wrong with the acting. It was simply and unpleasant and very incomplete story leaving you with more questions than answers. You feel CRAPPY after watching this movie. I want the two hours of my life back I lost to this terrible thing! On a 1 to 10 scale, I gave this a 3. I watched it with my wife and 21 year old daughter.. and we all felt the same way after seeing it.

Family Drama.. Inspiring.. Emotional!
17 December 2022
Reel Tunez... The Radio Show All About the Moives... Movie Review (12/17/22): "The Fabelmans"

This story is loosely based on Spielberg's own life. Didn't know what to expect. It's a drama, beautifully produced and shot. The story line is more of a "drama tempo" and moves more slowly, but lots of heart and emotion in the movie. I really liked it a lot! Acting was SUPERB in all aspects!!! In retrospect, I'd really like to know or feel it had closer ties to Mr. Spielberg . I think the only way a person would be disappointed is to think of it more like his action/adventure movies. It's definitely NOT like those.. and the "temp" runs slower and closer to the heart and realism.

On a 1 to 10 scale, I'd give it a solid 7!

Colonscopy by Captain Hook Would Be More Entertaining.. and maybe more fun...
17 December 2022
Oh dear god... Can IMDB find out just HOW some of these reviewers are related to the lead actors in this?? 7 out of 10, 8/10, 9 out of 10? If THIS is a 9 out of 10, then a movie like Gone With The Wind, Oliver!, or Star Wars are 980 out of 10! Ridiculous ratings! "It's A Wonderful LIfe" or "Grinch" would rate at 970 out of 10 if THIS thing ranks as a 7, 8 or 9! I always really want to see if the people who rate high reviews on terrible movies are something like "the mom of the writer".. or they were part of the production crew. Sorry.. but this movie was terrible! See "A Christmas Story" for the 175th time before watching this. You'll be more entertained and probably surprised.

Excellent movie! SEE it on the BIG Screen (and 3D!!)

"Reel Tunez, The Radio Show All About the Movies" Movie Review (12/16/22): Avatar - The Way of Water

I wasn't necessarily looking forward to this, but watched the director's cut of the original Avatar last week. I thought "it was okay... second one might be okay". Wow!! I REALLY enjoyed this second Avatar.. even more than the first! A very emotional movie packed with so much to see and hear! I'm not a fan of 3D movies, but saw this one in 3D, and the 3D wasn't hokey or annoying, but VERY well done and subtle. The audio surround on the movie was incredible. Most importantly, the story line was GREAT!

Don't want to give anything away.. but watch the original and definitely go see this new one (and see it on the BIG screen, in 3D if possible!) On a 1-10 scale (keep in mind I'm a tough reviewer), I'd give this a 7.3 out of 10.. and that's a VERY good rating for me.

Black Adam (2022)

WAY Better than expected... Great action movie!!

Reel Tunez - The Radio Show All About the Movies... Movie Review (11/2022): "Black Adam" starring Dwayne Johnson, Pierce Brosnan, and Aldis Hodge.

I didn't have much expectation for this DC Comic movie.. but holy cow, what a show!! It's an adventure/super hero type of movie with a ton of action. Johnson was great.. but Pierce Brosnan was awesome in his role as Dr. Fate. It's a cool movie because it's set in another land, but also starts in a different time. It's such an interesting movie because it just feels like it covers numerous genres of films.

Acting was very good.. and no shortage of action.

I'd give this a solid 7 out of 10 starts. Definitely a BIG screen movie!! See it on the big screen because it's visually exciting and deserves to be "experienced"!

While some people seem to rate a very good movie a 10 on IMDB (which always makes me wonder what a REAL film classic is if a movie like this is a 10), a 7 in my book is a very high rating. This is definitely worth seeing!!
