Cringefest
11 December 2023
This movie made me cringe more than anything. As some previous reviews stated, the all inclusive thing is getting a bit old (all personality types and races) It's way too over the top in this movie. I get it.... Hollywood is gonna keep pushing it no matter what for the new generations.

I found the story to be cringe worthy as well. Plenty of eyerollers and scenes where I had to take a deep breath just to continue. Somehow, it was just barely entertaining enough to stick to the end which is why I gave it 3 stars, but do yourself a favor and skip this one. Even as a cheesy horror slasher that can sometimes be good, this wasn't the winner.

Decent
15 February 2020
Obviously not as good as the original series, but this was a decent revival. The stories kept my interest, but could have done without the politics.

Worst Terminator in the franchise
27 January 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Linda Hamilton and Arnold couldn't save this one. Bad writing is bad writing. Terminators came off as more annoying than badass. Now Arnold has a family and watches football? Common! Gonna open up the lid and toss this one in the trash.

Scary Stories told flat
25 October 2019
Stories were not nearly as creepy as I imagined them to be from the books. A very Goosebumps play it safe kinda movie.

They should have went anthology with new characters for every story.

Glad to see the franchise return until I watched it.
15 July 2019
First of all I love the Leprechaun series minus Origins and now this film. I was definitely excited to see another Leprechaun film coming out. Even more that it was continuing the original series. Unfortunately though, no Warwick Davis and that killed this movie. It's not that I can't have an open mind on a new actor, I just literally cringed watching this.

The jokes were absolutely terrible. Whoever wrote them should never write anymore. The Leprechauns voice felt very awkward. I'll give it to them that the makeup job and setting were great, but the actors, writing and jokes ultimately killed this movie. I'd rather forget that it was even made.

Please bring Warwick back for the future even if it does require some patience.

Unnecessary remake
15 July 2019
Take everything from the original only downgrade it for this remake and you have Pet Semetery 2019. Completely unnecessary remake that practically clones the original with a eye roll of a twist.

I give it an average rating as it kept my interest, but not really saying much.

New generic Leprechaun movie dismisses the fun and original series.
28 August 2014
I gave this movie 3 out of 10 stars and that was being generous. It was entertaining enough to get through the whole thing and some cute chicks, but that's not saying much. It was sooooo generic. The typical cabin in the woods style film with nothing special added to it.

I thought the film sounded bad from the very beginning and after I watched this, it just proved my point. Why did they have to change the formula from the Warwick Davis series? They had a fan following and this movie just has fans dumping on it while not gaining any new fans.

There was nothing fun about the monster. He didn't talk, didn't look like a tradition Leprechaun. More like one of those creatures from the movie "The Descent". I don't understand how Hollywood needs to remake everything and give everything more of a "realistic" approach. All these original horror series such as Leprechaun, Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm Street and Halloween used to be a lot more fun then what they are now.

All I have to say is booooooo. Two thumbs down. BRING BACK WARWICK DAVIS!!! Make that long talked about Leprechaun:In the Old West. I love all those movies for as cheesy as they are. They were fun.

Fun, but nowhere near as good as the original
8 July 2014
2 great things about this sequel. Amelia Kinkade who plays Angela returns and I must say she looks completely different in a good way. Also, the original house returns.

Unfortunately, it seems like we don't get to Hull House until half way into the movie. At least to stay for a while anyways. The actors in this one seem a little more annoying or maybe it's the fact that this movie focuses too much on the comedy part of it. I like when your able to laugh at a horror movie when it's not purposely trying to be funny which was more like the first. This movie tries to be funny and I found it a little annoying.

If you're not expecting too much though and really enjoy the first film, there's no reason why you shouldn't watch this sequel. It's a worthy sequel, but just doesn't compare to the original is all.

Another one of these movies
27 June 2014
I feel a 4.5 is more appropriate for this film as I barely liked it. When I say I barely liked it, I mean it was at least entertaining enough to make it to the end. Maybe a cool scene or two, but nothing all that impressive.

Anyways, the whole found footage thing is getting old. It turns into a sense of why is this person holding this camera at this particular place and time. Sometimes it's who is holding the camera and why? There was a point where you could see the main actors two empty hands, but he was supposed to be holding the camera. A little sloppy there. Movies today can be just as effective without the found footage crap.

The movie itself was kind of typical of a possession horror movie. Girl gets impregnated by an evil force, you know what happens next. No surprise. Why would you even go to the Dominican Republic on a honey moon? I guess everyone has their own thing.

Kinda boring, not so great
25 June 2014
After looking at the cover, I thought I was going to be watching a movie about a werewolf. He kind of looks like teen wolf on it. Instead of this guy being a werewolf, he was more of a bug-man beast. Basically same story of a generic werewolf film, just replaced with bug-man beast.

I was honestly kind of bored with this one. The pace is pretty slow. Acting not so great. Story was a little confusing and just kind of dumb. I thought the transformation scene was cool. That was about it unfortunately and even that seemed to be ripping off other werewolf films. First and last time I'll watch this one.

a mystery with a sci-fi twist
23 June 2014
This is one of those movies your gonna either have to pay really hard attention to clues and put the pieces of the puzzle together or read an explanation or theory on what this movie was about.

I enjoyed the whole mystery of the movie, wondering what the heck was going on and waiting for an explanation. When the film ended the way it did, the only thing I was thinking was "uuuhhhh"?

Now that I understand it more after reading about the whole hidden theme, I just find that hidden theme itself a little ridiculous. That's all I can really say without spoiling it. For what it's worth, I was intrigued til the end. Just didn't care for the twist was all.

Comedy/Horror movie made for doofuses
27 March 2014
First of all, I love 80's horror flicks. Sometimes the cheesier, the better.

This film takes cheesy 80's horror flick to a new level. The whole time through this movie, I was asking myself what the heck I was watching. It's about 2 clown brothers that are into black magic and want to bring an Egyptian goddess to life. She's far from a goddess though and why that's so important to these 2 brothers is beyond me. Oh I forgot to mention they are guided by their dead uncle's talking brain in a jar throughout the process. Just seems like a horror flick made for wacky doofuses. No offense to anyone who likes this. Just the vibe I get. I gave it 3 stars because it was entertaining enough to make it to the end. Barely though.

I've seen my fair share of Troma films and even though this is not, it has that same vibe to it. There's one word to describe Troma films.....wacky. The one Troma film I'll make an exception to is Toxic Avenger.

I guess watch this film if you want to poop in your pants and run around with a big smile on your face. If you find that entertaining, you will find this movie entertaining.

Boring
24 February 2014
First of all, I love cheesy 80's slasher movies. They're probably my favorite when it comes to horror films.

This movie was so boring, I barely made it to the end. The characters aren't likable. The writing was poor and it got to point where I didn't even know what the heck was going on. The plot was just kind of dumb unless you want to watch a movie about some bickering actresses who only care about winning the part of an audition.

Anyways, the best part about this flick is the killer that wears a creepy hag mask. Seeing pictures of that was intriguing. Unfortunately, those scenes are too fast and too few. I just didn't like this movie overall.

Cool idea. Poor execution.
17 February 2014
Well, if Tim Burton directed this movie, it might have been a masterpiece. Unfortunately, he didn't and it's far from a masterpiece.

It's not the 80's style that disappointed me. I love 80's flicks especially the cheesy horror ones. This film just seemed so rushed and sloppily put together. The actors were lame and the creatures could have been in the movie a bit more.

On the bright side, some favorites in horror movies do the voices for the clowns including Tim Curry who was Pennywise and Brad Douriff who was Chucky. Also set in an abandoned amusement park in Hollywood. Horror movies about clowns in amusement parks pretty much sell me especially with these voices.

Overall the whole idea was cool, but the execution was poor. Only watch it if your curious.

A story straight from the source
10 August 2013
Nevermind the reviews that say this documentary is boring, making up stories for attention, nonsense, etc. It's a story straight from the source, not just another documentary. It's not a Hollywood movie or scripted story. What you see is what you get. For those who don't know, the Lutz family was the family who came after the murder family known as Defeo family. The movies were even focused on the Lutz family. Just look at the character names in the movie. Furthermore, Daniel Lutz's story in this documentary is a big deal if your fascinated with the Amityville hauntings.

Like the guy or not, believe in his story or not, he is the real deal. He may be an adult now, but it took him many many years to tell his childhood traumatic story. If he was out for attention, why did it take him so long? I'm not one to believe in ghosts and such as I'm a skeptic, however I believed that this guy believed in his story. You can just tell by the way he's in tears and takes pauses before continuing. Is it possible he's a lunatic and that's why he believed it? Sure. That doesn't mean he's lying though.

Generic horror movie that mocks the original in haunted attraction form
8 August 2013
This movie has nothing to do with the actual Bates Motel used in the original "Psycho". It's about the haunted attraction which is located in Pennsylvania. Furthermore, we have a movie mocking the original in a haunted attraction form.

Acting was bad. Story wasn't anything special, but only kind of fun. Not scary at all. While it was entertaining enough to make it to the end, that's not saying much. I'd say only watch if your a die hard for anything Bates and interested in the attraction located in Pennsylvania. Almost seems like a movie made to gain recognition for the haunted attraction and also cashing in on the success of the recent "Bates Motel" show.

Kind of boring
23 July 2013
The few cool things about this movie was it based on a true story and filmed before Friday the 13th pt.2 in which I can tell was heavily influenced by this film. I took interest in the time period as well. People back then had much more to fear as a killer like that was not a common thing. Now days, a new killing is in the daily news.

Now on to the true low down of this film. I found it to be slow, boring and all too familiar. For as cool as it was that this movie was before Friday the 13th's time, F-13th and the pt.2 (baghead) was much more entertaining then this film. I'd say 85 to 90% of this film was all about the police looking for clues. Overall, boring.

My favorite thing about this film was the ending as short as it was.
