A cute cheesy movie 'Christmas style'
20 November 2022
It follows a certain recipe for Christmas movies, you just have to forget the unrealistic parts, for example the fact that she spent only 4 days at the lodge and it seemed more like 2 weeks.

Lindsay Lohan acts ok on this movie although you can see that she is somewhat anxious / uncomfortable. Like acting in Christmas movies is something new to her or it's because she hasn't been in a movie for a while. The cheesy scenes look like they required a lot of efforts nevertheless she is always smiling and her acting is appropriate. She did better at acting in 'I know who killed me' in my opinion (but I know I'm the only one who enjoyed that movie. I'm not sure why people hated it. I think she received too much criticism for past movies.)

When I first started watching I was skeptical but the recipe works and at the end of the movie I didn't mind its flaws as much, I enjoyed the style. It reminds me 'A prince for Christmas' (or any other Christmas movie, they all have similar lines and stories).

i can't understand why people hate this movie
13 January 2022
To me it is great, and a lot more original than some other movies. The actors deliver a very good performance, especially Aubrey's parents and the FBI. The use of the color blue as an artistic theme was impressive and added a special feel to the movie that is somewhere between.horror and fantastic. The only down to it is that there were some plot holes and I think the ending was a bit abrupt, to me it would have been possible to stretch a little after the final scene.

Joker (I) (2019)

Interesting, good movie, but this joker is really impared
3 January 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Well made movie. However I think the functioning of the Joker is so impared by his illnesses that it would appear less likely he would lead a revolution and be at the end of a mafia. It is also unclear what would be his motives to start voluntarily a revolution. His psychopathic side is not put forward, more his psychotic side. After what we have seen of this Joker it would be logical to me that he becomes a killing machine but less a tactical leader as opposed to Heath Ledger's depiction where the Joker was very sick but his psychopathic side more obvious as well as his intelligence. The shoes were big to fill after the 2008 performance and this movie approaches things with a different and interesting angle still. We can tell Joaquin Phoenix gave a lot into his performance.

A bad copy of the 1991 movie
1 December 2018
This movie fails to be interesting, as many mentionned: special effects make you feel like it's a computer game, the face of the beast is weird, actors are not convinced nor convincing, the animated objects are not funny, and the songs feel misplaced. Since the 1991 movie is a classic it seems they played it safe and made a copy of it, which I agree with, however the copy is bad. I would have enjoyed it if we could have seen more of the elements of the old movie. We can't see the main character's feelings evolve like in the cartoon. On a positive note this movie is good to help with sleep and I have played it a few times even if I wasn't able to watch the whole thing at once.

Appealing little town
29 July 2016
Warning: Spoilers
Pros:

The city's atmosphere, settings, artefacts, costumes. Comfortable and inviting. The fact that the citizens appear cheerful and innocent. The acting from Carla Gugino, Melissa Leo, Juliette Lewis, and Matt Dylon. Although I didn't appreciate the acting of the main character at the beginning of the season it seemed to improve from episode 5 or 6.

The unpredictable twists and the good cliff hangers at the end of episodes. I was a bit surprised when they introduced the sci fy aspect of the show, as I'm not a fan of this type, but it went well.

Cons:

The story and settings change too quickly. Too many of the main characters we like die or are removed. The weird startover in season 2 ( I haven't watched past season 2 episode 1 yet). And like others said, one must not try to understand where their resources come from.

I would have rather liked they continue showing us the strange, cheerful and innocent citizens of the city and their dramas. And about season two I would have preferred that they continued without the militia.

still a good watch
6 July 2016
When I first started to watch this series I didn't think I would enjoy it. The events in the first episode of the first season made it seem like it would be very trashy. Still I watched a second episode and got hooked.

As you get to know the characters and the relationships between them it gets more and more interesting. The first two seasons were especially good because you saw the psychologically healthy side of Norman most of the time despite his mother insisting on being too close and trying to keep him away from outside influence and from fulfilling his needs.

In the third season Norman is portrayed as mainly psychotic and taken over by desillusions. As the show progresses he is more of a horror movie character. I enjoyed the third season as well only missing the sometimes mentally sane side of Norman. It's like it died. I'm glad there are many other intrigues with his mom and brother it compensates.

A nice surprise
12 April 2014
When I started watching this movie I had no idea what it was about, except from the vague description 'a woman's life changes when a secret agent appears in her life'. I was pleasantly surprised with this movie which is a mix of action, comedy and romance. Tom Cruise is at ease in a secret agent role. Cameron Diaz acts well enough. I appreciated the humour tone of the movie. It is light and entertaining from the beginning to the end. Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz have a nice chemistry on screen. This movie has a lot of unrealistic things into it but of course it is normal as it doesn't pretend to be serious. This kind of movie is based on a recipe that works most of the time. Not a movie someone would watch many times but once again enjoyable.

The Call (II) (2013)

A good suspense overall
23 July 2013
The call is a nice suspense movie with a lot of action. The kidnapping scene at the beginning of the movie reminded me of Taken.

The suspense is very strong and straight line and I really got into it, especially in the first three quarter of the movie. This is the typical kidnapping story viewed under a slightly different angle. I liked Halle Berry playing the role of the 911 operator, who is very sensitive and determinate, she acts the emotional side of the character very well.

It has a few clichés and the end of the movie looses the initial pace. The final actually makes the characters appear entirely different than through the most part of the movie. This is the down part. I give it an 8 because of the final however it's a good movie overall and I would strongly recommend it to those who are enjoy suspense.

Entertaining
5 June 2013
Personally I like the movies of the saga which I find entertaining. Life is tragic enough so you don't always have to watch realistic films. It is all about what kind of movies you enjoy. I find it is a very relaxing fantasy movie, far better than some I wouldn't even watch through the end. Eclipse has more action than the first 2, a battle, but perhaps the emotions the characters are displaying I can't feel very much. I wouldn't blame the actors, I think they can display a wide range of emotions. Maybe sometimes they don't connect. The movie is revolving around the choice of the kind of future Bella wants, as a human or a vampire, and who she loves the most, and will her beliefs be changed by events.
