Mulan (2020)
Loved the movie.
What people need to take into account is that just because a new version of a Disney classic is different does not mean that there is excellent potential in a story. Plus, one thing this movie managed to get right was the pronunciation of Mulan's family name. The only part I found weird was the movement of the emperor's mouth when he was speaking. Besides that, the message of the importance of family and not giving up really hit home for me, and I believe that most people should be looking at these points of inspiration, especially during these troubling times.
Harriet (2019)
Phenomenal
Harriet Tubman was all about standing up to slavery and helping slaves escape to a life of freedom. This film captured every aspect of her. She knew the risks of what would happen if she was to be captured, but that didn't stop her into rescuing the people who wanted to be free. From being a former slave to becoming one of America's greatest heroes is something to be admired. This film is a message, one that others can easily understand to not just stay silent, but to help others seek a better life.
After Earth (2013)
I thought it was a good movie.
Even though it had sad scenes that I didn't really enjoy, I am glad that the father and son made it off Earth alive. They survived because they used teamwork to track down the other part of the craft to find that beacon. You could learn a moral from this. The moral is to work together. If you work together, you will get the job done a lot faster than doing it alone. That would only get parts of the job complete. Kitai really had to listen hard to his father to survive.
If the storyline of the movie was different, the father and Kitai may not have survived the dangerous Earth.
I'm glad the movie had a happy ending! It made me cry with happiness when The screen went black with happy music playing!
