Dumbest of all Marvel Movies yet
7 May 2023
Warning: Spoilers
From the opening credits to the flawed ending this movie just literely blew chunks. If Marvel wanted to end the era with a dud, they succeeded. All the core characters were diminished in teh first 10 minutes. Rocket was changed from a hardass fearless antagontis to a simpering dult. Peter was turned from the comic hero into a love lost pitiful shadow of his former self. Even the feared Ravagers were transformed in to bit players in this second rate space opera. Adam Warlock's charactor was unbelieviable as the super villlian. If Marvel wanted to just make money, they succeded but at the cost of a great franchise. With so many of the cast not wanting to return for future projects this was, this movie should not have been made.

Slow paced compared to USA Survivor
7 September 2022
Slowly paced show about a group of people signing on to win $250,000 AU.(169,265.52 USD). The show promotes theft and encourages the participants to actively sabotage the project. Rewards are out weighted by the risk.

The eventual winner will have to decide to either split the money between the remaining players or keep it all for themselves.

Much like other adventure game shows, the cast males the show, in this case they are really a distraction from it. Better game playing is needed and some more interpersonal dynamitic are needed..

The actual location is stunning but is hardly used. More camera and needed.

The Definitive Batman
23 August 2022
This movie ties together threads from all throughout The Batman cannon. From the earliest comic book lore through the Gotham series and beyond. Its sharp edgey writing with just enough camp with a nod to Adam West.

Its Batman noir. Its the Bat/Bruce Wayne in his humble beginning.

Robrrt Patterson nails the characters Bruce and could easily grow into a full fledged embodiment of the twisted psychology challenged of the Batman character.

Utter Unremarkable Trash
9 July 2022
This may have played well in its original South Koren format but in this adaptation it pure TRASH.

The actors are either terrible or given terrible scripts to go off of. For a science fiction show set 100 years in our future it reminds me of the classic Doctor Who style except with the flavor.

Save you time and money (AMC+ is hardly worth the monthly fee).

Interesting movie about the multiverse without superheros

A proven cinematic plotline with original writing. Its not something new but the writing is different from a woman's viewpoint. Jana Gillis's 2019 exploded in to a full direct to video shows that a tried-and-true plot can be reimagined/.

Marlee Matlin bring a welcome and talented anchor.

It Just Gets Better and Better
5 September 2021
Just watched episode 4 of the first season and the show just gets better. You can see why this vehicle is great for Amell and cast, as it allow all the participants to show their "Gimmick" without ridicule.

Its worth watching
25 December 2020
In the year that gave us nothing, this movie is worth watching. If for no other reason than to help the future of DCU movies to continue.

I actually remember reading a similar story line in the comic books. It may not be as glitzy as MCU but it deals with human emotions.

Its really not a emmy winner but it is worth watching
21 December 2020
This show is what it is. A made for TV series about a rich person who runs a foul of his own sister and has to be saved by a group of ex special forces mercs. The writing reminds of shows like Hardcastle and McCormick, Burn Notice, White Collar, Nikka, and Person of Interest. They were all quirky and over the top, but each in their own right were good.

If you get beyond the first show, its a good 10 episode series.

NCIS: Sturgeon Season (2020)
Season 18, Episode 1

Too unfocused
18 November 2020
Having watched NCIS since its beginning as a two part JAG episode this seasons premier episode was by far the most disappointing. I can only blame it on the hastily terminated season 17.

I'm sure the episode was partly hashed together from a mish mash of plots and scripts from season 17 and to introduce a new (if not somewhat over used plot) character. Bringing Gibbs and Fornell back together could have been lead to a powerful season 17 to 18 cliff hanger. The introduction of he new NCIS agent seemed rushed.

A lot screen time was wasted and I believe its not exactly what the writers had envisioned

A stark and fresh look into the warped mind of a Teen who never caught a break
10 November 2020
Hoping that Prime will breath new life into the YouTube Red series. This show has escapism, a dark subplot and all the teen angst of young love. The story travels through the states on an often comical course.

It was filmed in Toronto ON and if you are from around the area you will spot the landmarks quickly.

As far as a revisionist view of a Marvel Comic this well ...
16 October 2020
Its so far off of the original source of Damien Helstrom's origin story that it truly a new creation stealing plots from the Marvel original. Its title will attract the interest of long time Marvel comic readers, but beyond that it will not hold their interest.

But once you get past the obvious deception, the show in its own right can hold your interest.

I really hope that Marvel and others discontinue the bait and switch tactics they employ and actually allow the new creative enterprises their own opportunity to grow on their own.

Don't believe the critics o this show
5 September 2020
First and foremost,, forget all the negative reviews this series have gotten. What so called experts call "fantastic" is just same old s**t.

This series is packed with a stellar cast, lead by Oscar winning actor Hilary Swank, a truly talented woman. The rest of the cast may not have her acting chops but there are no lemons in this group. They all brought their A game to this series.

Vivian Wu is a great choice to portray the woman under the Teflon outer layer as a repressed and controlled Chinese Astronaut. A true foil to Mark Vanir's proud Russian.

But in truth I think its Talitha Eliana Bateman who plays Swanks daughter that should get the Emmy nod next year. She is truly believable as the one perosn that loves her mother, yet also hates her because she feels abandoned.

The entire cast of this showshould get the Emmy best Drama series of 2020.

From the moment this movie starts through to the extortionary ending its a roller coaster ride of action.

This movie brings all the action of big blockbusters but on a beer budget.

To be honest the acting can sometimes be wooden, but the tempo works

Finally a film with a true purpose
31 August 2020
This movie is not a walk in the park. Nor is it the tried and true fables of Africa, its people, cultures and inhumane treatment of animals

Megan Fox does an excellent job as leader of this rag tag group of hired mercenaries. Who start out with one objective but ends with several

A great, if not sometimes difficult film to watch.

Its not your average Bill and Ted Excellent Adventure
29 August 2020
In order to understand the latest exploits of our time traveling (tripping?) duo, you must once more suspend the logical mind and throw away the known theory of time travel.

It is what it is. A mesh mash of history told through the eyes of two twenty something adults, B & T. Who end up saving the day. But these B & T's aren't the infamous Bill and Ted of the 80's

Anchored securely in their world quest, to enjoin the world in song, thus saving time and space as they know it, they are also faced with family issues, maturity with age, and any artists greatest opponent, the blank page. They can't see their future or their "song" that unites the world.

Aiding them through history is a cornucopia of history's most excellent musicians, and a couple of newer unknowns.

The movie brings back all the zaniness of their past exploits, while making a movie everyone can enjoy.

Oh, by the way I gave this a 9, because in my opinion, their most excellent adventure is yet to come.

It is not The Long Kiss Goodbye - get over it
23 August 2020
Jessica Chastain does an admirable job sharing screen time with some of the immortals of the last century's box office greats.

Geena Davis and John Malkovich both have a long pedigreed of making great films, but give the devils her due, they also made a lot of stinkers as well.

This movie isn't a remake of the Long Kiss Goodbye, arguably one of Davis's best movies ever. So it shouldn't be compared as such.

is there anything truly new in this film, a resounding NO, but than today their isn't a lot of brand new content out there. If it has been made by American's it likely been made in another language or country.

If you are looking for a formula film that has passed the test of time, this will fill your needs. Its got action, suspense, a back story, betrayal and reconciliation. So that's it in a nut shell.

Enjoy or don't, but there are really slim pickings out there.

A movie that strikes a familiar note al Spy Kids
23 August 2020
If you enjoyed the Spy Kids movies of a decade ago, than this movie is for you. Its a feel good movie, bringing together a family. Its generational and quirky.

The leads are perfectly cast. Each playing on their own strengths. From the macho male to the endearing pluck child, this show has it all.

Best watched with family, kids can suspend belief, but can be a guilty pleasure if its a quiet night at home you crave.

An enjoyable YA movie
22 August 2020
The movie is what it is, a foray into the YA world of awkward firsts.

Reinhart and Abrams are exceptional in their roles as teens with multiple angsts. If truth be told Reinhart embodiment of the chief female lead is far superior to her other roles, most notably that of the teen vixen Betty in CW's Riverdale. The interactions between herself and Abrams does not appear forced.

Abrams for his part, plays the YA lead with believability and grace. Like Reinhart he far exceeds his previous roles in both depth and character.

The remaining cast fill their individual roles with heartfelt sincerity and an authenticity that adds to the movies over all feel.

The movie certainly doesn't bring anything new in the plot or the story telling, but with a cast like they have, it should truly be enjoyable by viewers of all ages.

Lucifer Season 5 review (Warning it not the Lucifer you know)
22 August 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Netflix has taken a show that had all the traits one likes to see in a comic book inspired series and trashed it beyond belief.

I for one am grateful that Netflix is ending the series, especially in light of the way they have perverted the characters.

SPOILER ALERT

Lucifer has changed and not for the better, The acting of Tom Ellis and Lauren German continue to be great, in spite of the garbage scripts that they are forced to enact. A once fun filled tour de force is now a heaping pile of dung beetles.

We are to expect that Chloe and Lucifer exchange powers in one episode and than boom its reverts back the next.

Now throw in a the archangel Michael .(Tom Ellis in a duo role) who is worst than the devil at his best. You get the idea.

Sloppy writing and contrived plot lines make this once iconic show little more than "B" grade trash.

Enjoyable - Family - Harmless Fun
9 August 2020
Ok, the writers o the script may not be Shakespeare, but after watching some of the other weird crap out there (Believable !!! comes to mind) this isn't a bad way to spend a bit of time escaping.

The actors (all of them) play their characters with the camp and craziness that an escapists video requires. Greg Grunberg, Kevin Smith, Martin Kove and Tom Plumely embrace their roles with a sense of humour. Special shout out to Hassie Harrison and Joey Morgan for playing the faithful and resourceful side kicks to Plumely's egotistical Max.

If you have 90 minutes or so to sit back and escape this year, you will either really hate or have some fun watching it.

One last thing - the jokes and references come fast and furious in this video.

Plot stolen from the 1967 TV series The Second Hundred Years
7 August 2020
A spark of genius in this movie would be an over statement. Rogen, arguably one of my favourite creative minds missed an opportunity to have fun with a old plot.

The concept is stolen (poorly) from the 1967 tv series The Second Hundred Years starred Monte Markham in a dual role as grandfather and grandson. There is nothing new or interesting in Rogen's take on the subject. To a 10 year old boy The Second Hundred Years was funny and enjoyable, this movie is not kid friendly and will adults to tears with its boring presentation
