The Timber (2015)
A work of brilliance!
The Timber is a very good film about western drama-adventure life of two brothers. This an intense experience with exciting-heartbreaking moments. Based on powerful choices and regrettable decisions. Actors James Ransone, Elisa Lasowski, Mark Caven really know how to represent their character developments around the nature of this film. The director did a very excellent job! The story was awesome too. A great example of how life is not black and white. As far as films that were overlooked for the best films are concerned, this one tops the list. Brilliantly written, extremely well-acted, and incredibly raw and true, this film is a work of brilliance in the art of film. I love this movie. :)
Jump Offs (2007)
Good job!!
Loved this movie. But it is not for kids which anyone that knows. Can't wait to own it and see the second movie. I laughed all the way. The story was great. I did like the relationships that evolved among the actors and actresses. Well worth the price of admission to see this on the big screen. With strong and spectacular action sequences, very funny jokes and Derrick Simmons, perfectly interpreting the character, "Jump Offs" is a great popcorn movie. Funny and As the movie is very enjoyable. I can't describe it as a bad movie. But it indeed lacks on some role. It's minor lacks. They can do better in future. By the way It's a good comedy movie for adults.
Women Do It Better (2009)
Good Story and Direction.
This is an another great comedy movie by Derrick Simmons. I bought the DVD on the day of it's release. This is definitely one of the more better comedy films I've seen as of late. This movie is based on romantic comedy. Derrick Simmons Directed this film very well. The story was interesting. The women beating the men in their lives at their own game. One thing I would suggest to improve that some actress acting were looking little bit wired, It might be improve. But I don't think it will disappoint either. Unless you hate action, humor, violence and tits, there is no way you can hate this movie! Well done Derrick Simmons!
Nobody's Perfect (2016)
Better and enjoyable!
Nobody's Perfect is the third fantastic movie by Derrick Simmons. This movie is based on a lovely couple's love life related. But Not only love, showed the darkest side of the life, how's that critical. As usual Derrick Simmons have done the great directions. He seriously focused on his script and that's honestly very good. This film is a combination of Comedy, Drama and Action. So all these combination made the movie more better and enjoyable! This movie manages to highlight the current craziness of the reality we live in. It's worth the time and the money. I thoroughly enjoyed the sarcasm above all else. This is exactly how I tend to walk through life. I'd recommend seeing it at least once.
Darkside Witches (2015)
Constantine meets Boobs
This film is about a case of witchcraft back in mirage in Northern Italy. During the burning at the stake the women made a pact with the devil to reincarnate in exchange of eternal worship. Back to our days these nice women are reborn to slaughter men of their village and overthrown the balance of good and evil and finally bring the hell on earth helped by the demon Pazuzu.
While not the most original one, the plot may look at the same time a bit ambitious for an indie movie. Speaking about the supernatural Genre this one has it all: witches, demons, exorcism, black mass, human sacrifices and even soft porn scenes!
Massive use flashback, flash forward and CGI make the film enjoyable and challenging at times. The atmosphere are somehow creepy and disquieting. The acting and character were overall OK, with exception of Sibilla AKA Barbara Bouchet that still sporta some kind of charme and talent way above the average of the movie. Special Effects not the best ones in my opinion especially when a naked woman turned witch rip off the heart of a man in a pub, but that scene is amazing for another reason and you'll see. Surprisingly good CGI, lot's of digital environments and flying creature makes this film a gem in that sense, especially you think that is an Italian indie movie.
Everyone who watched last Argento's efforts know what I'm talking about. Among the most successful scenes there is the Garden of Temptation where a bunch of pretty neat babies try to seduce Don Gabriel, and the descent to the hell where the Gabriel and the Crisp priest are brought by evil forces. Even the flying evil witches and the big demon are hi quality computer graphics. All in all a good movie enjoyable from and for the fans of old Italian Horror with a touch of porn, computer magic and a taste of vintage Hammer production.
