Supernatural: Patience (2017)
"Patience, I said NOW!"
I realize it wasn't supposed to be funny, but it was hilarious.
Black Mirror: USS Callister (2017)
Best episode... (SPOILERS)
People writing low reviews are the ones who enjoy the dark endings. The ones that don't have a happy ending. People seem to think that Black Mirror is all about the disturbing twist that leaves you catatonic for a few minutes as you try to get a grip on reality again.
The truth is, Black Mirror is so much more. It is capable of producing heart wrenching episodes like White Bear or Be Right Back, yes. However, it has shown that it is also capable of producing fascinating episodes with a classic happy ending. Even if that happy ending is bittersweet (like Nosedive).
The episode begins with a character that one would assume is the hero. The underdog that we all root for. You meet is coworkers and his glory stealing partner who also happens to be the company CEO (played by the always awesome Jimmi Simpson). The truth is that he is a very disturbed individual and takes out his misfortune on the digital clones of these people that he has trapped in a customized version of the game he coded. That's when we meet the real hero of the story.
The whole episode plays out like a dark version of Galaxy Quest, but doesn't lose the humor, the charm, and the unique touch that is Black Mirror. Honestly, those rating this episode poorly based on it not feeling like a Black Mirror episode need to realize that this IS a Black Mirror episode. It is an episode of the show written by the writers. It doesn't have to conform to your own ideas on what the show should be. It should ALWAYS be looking to throw you a curveball. That's what makes the show great.
There are also some reviews that describe this as having plot holes or not being "smart sci-fi" like the rest of Black Mirror. I stress that a lot of episodes of this show are far from perfect in that regard. Some episodes have things that happen that simply don't make sense. More often than not, an episode will take a dark turn for what feels like the sake of it and doesn't make any sense narratively (I'm looking at you, Playtest).
This is a solid episode of Black Mirror and is deeply satisfying as not only an episode, but as a refreshing change of pace. Do not listen to the reviews, and in fact, don't even take MINE to heart. Watch it yourself and make up your own mind.
War for the Planet of the Apes (2017)
In response to Mona K...
You do not need to lower one film to raise another. Spider-man: Homecoming and War for the Planet of the Apes are 2 very different films, yet both are very well written and well made. They both have their place.

Yoga Hosers (2016)
It's not for everyone...
I have to say, I really enjoyed this movie. I was entertained. At the end of the day, that's what a film is supposed to do. Is it a well crafted story? No. However, Kevin Smith himself has said this was supposed to be like an 80's B-movie and I think he achieved that. It did what it set out to do. If that's the case, can you really call it a failure? Obviously this film isn't for everyone, but that should be common knowledge with any Kevin Smith movie at this point. If you're up for a campy, ridiculous good time late at night, this is a solid choice.
The Defenders (2017)
Do not understand the bad reviews...
It is clear to me now that viewers are spoiled and have become jaded. There was love for Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage. Sure, Iron Fist took a dip in quality with poor writing, poor dialogue, and pretty terrible fight choreography given he's supposed to be an unbeatable martial artist.
It pretty obvious after watching The Defenders that the production of Iron Fist was rushed in order to make The Defenders happen. At no point during this show was I bored, confused, or felt the need to skip ahead. It felt like a natural progression for all the characters. Seeing these personalities come together and interact was so much fun. The fight scenes were thankfully given the attention they deserved. With an episode count of 8, there was little room for filler and meaningless plot points, which led to a solid season.
