So disappointing
25 July 2018
I feel like Hollywood has lost the ability to write a good story and keep it interesting. This was so bland, cliche-ridden and predictable right from the start. It was pretty much a paint-by-numbers script in which the characters just reel off set dialogue from other films, and bumble along until the end.

The idea was great, the setting was interesting, there was the occasional glimpse of half-decent acting. But I think I've given up on Hollywood ever delivering an interesting storyline.

As for Sofia whatshername, I really don't get the appeal. She can't seem to deliver a single line convincingly. And there's a hilariously bad bit towards the end which just makes no sense whatsoever.

I think even the recent Marvel films have held my interest more.

Painful
26 June 2018
I honestly don't know what to say, other than this is possibly the worst film I've ever seen in a cinema. We went with a 2 for 1 ticket offer, and I still felt ripped off.

The acting was pretty appalling all round. Sandra Bullock seems to have morphed into Michael Jackson, and could barely stumble over her lines. Rihanna cannot act. The introduction of James Corden was just the icing on an already dire cake.

The plot made very little sense, and lacked any of the charm, intelligence and sense of excitement from the original Ocean films. It just seemed lazy, and I can't understand how this was commissioned. If you strip away the stars, there's literally nothing to the film.

Avoid at all cost.

I don't understand the bad reviews

Warning: Spoilers
I just watched this film last night, and I was absolutely hooked from the first amazing scene. It's a non-stop thrill ride with enough excitement, twists and depth of character to keep any fan going.

The sexual chemistry between Rey and Ben in particular was just brilliant. I wasn't too sure about him in the last film, but he's really come into his own in VIII. I really enjoyed the uncertainty and doubt in the good/evil dichotomy, and felt this was a great way to go.

It was also just stunning, visually. You can tell they've put a fair amount of money in this, because it's just beautiful. The colours are rich and vibrant, the scenery is gorgeous and it rrally feels as though you're there.

I can't wait to see what's next.

The worst film I've ever seen
13 February 2017
While not having particularly high expectations, it must be said, I did go into this film with an open mind. However only a few minutes in and I already felt the urge to leave and fill my brain with something less awful and mind rotting.

It's not just the non-existent plot and hammy acting that let this film down, although they were major factors, the chemistry between the two leads was like watching two planks of wood getting together. None of what I saw made me believe he was an irresistible sex god with a dark side. And with Ana, let's just say biting ones lip every time something is suggested gets a bit old.

Furthermore, without wanting to spoil, is her IQ supposed to be about 50? I have to ask because she pretty much agrees to everything he says, and not in a dom/sub kind of way, more just because she doesn't seem to have the mental ability to argue. You have to wonder how she's employed in the first place.

I've seen some absolutely dire films but I can honestly say this is the worst film I've ever seen.
