I remember watching a season of short films maybe on channel 4, and this story stuck in my head, babies born receive an implant thing it gives them a life span, they cant get ill but the girl in the story is a gambler and she has gambled away all her time, the life credits can be used for food buying and selling and thus rich get a longer life span. I cant remember the name of this story but i did see there is a court case because the writer has apparently stole the story (same on him)

If it helps one of the other short films was reincarnation was real and people were not allowed to kill themselves in the hope they would come back in a rich family, but of course really poor people were killing themselves in the hope they would be reborn into a rich family.
