Weak

Not terrible, but mediocre. There's not much worse than a mediocre movie. You can laugh at a terrible movie, laugh at how badly it was made etc. Mediocre movies...you have to survive. this one made me cringe. the acting is really quite...mediocre. that stupid Brobdingnag girl...gaah! can't keep her southern accent away! "Chaaawclaate? Cahn ah have sume chaawclaate??"

It also didn't stay true to the book at all. Gulliver wasn't telling the story in the book! He was living it! There are millions of unnecessary changes that only make it worse. Such as leaving out Swift's depiction of the morals of the different people. In the book, the Lilliputians, although appearing small and innocent are actually immoral and mean creatures. While the Brobdingnagians, seeming large and scary, are actually extremely kind and gentile. In the movie, the Brobdingnagians make Gulliver lie to and cheat people for their money. Nothing like that ever occurred in Swift's genius satire. Believe me, this movie is not worth your three hours.

Loved the movie, but a few questions...
22 May 2005
First off, i'd like to say that i really liked this movie, and I'm not trying to bash it. I'm sort of a perfectionist. why are the lightsabers pointy? if you look at them, they come to a dull point. this is not the case in any of the older movies, but I' can't remember about the previous new ones (Episodes I and II.) Also, how is Padme pregnant if Anakin has been away for so long. Maybe Darth Vader ISN'T Luke's father. maybe the dad is... Jar Jar? *shudder* anyway. thats about it, but overall, the only real problem with the movie was the bad writing for the romantic scenes. way too cheesy. it was a great movie. 9 out of 10 stars, definitely. Lucas has finally redeemed himself after the Jar Jar Binks incident. (one of the worst ideas in movie-making history.)

One of the Funniest Movies I've Ever Seen!
20 March 2005
Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgandy.

Easily put into my list of top 5 movies, Anchorman is very very funny. If you like movies like Zoolander and Dodgeball, you'll probably love this. The difference between Zoolander and Anchorman is "smart comedy." Zoolander is "smart comedy" while Anchorman...is not. Zoolander was meant to be a satire on male modeling, and they pulled it off very well. Anchorman, equally, if not more, funny, was meant to make people laugh because...they're so stupid. I love it. anyway, go out and buy this one, and Zoolander, and Dodgeball for that matter, in fact, buy any movie with Will Ferrell, Vince Vaughn, Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson, or Jack Black in it!

Jason X (2001)

This movie is terrible.
4 January 2005
This just might be the worst movie I've ever seen. The whole thing is just so ridiculous. Nothing is at all realistic, the lines are cheesy, the acting is bad, Uber Jason????? What? I want to know who the editor was that looked at the final version of this movie and said "This looks good, I think we're finished." If I ever meet him, I'll slap him.

The plot is terrible. Absolutely terrible. A bunch of people on a spaceship in the future find a frozen man with a machete. They now have some technology that re-animates frozen people. The captain of the ship talks to his "boss", who tells him to bring Jason back and make money off him. The captain knows that it is Jason Vorhees, but wakes him up anyway. A series of badly choreogrpahed slashings ensue and....well, you get the point.

When I saw this movie, I laughed the whole way through. Not at their unfunny jokes, but at the fact that someone could make a movie so bad, and still take themselves seriously. I only suggest watching this movie if your cable is out and the only movie in your house is Jason X, and you are in the mood to laugh at someone. But seriously, I'm surprised that the filmmakers could sit through this and say "Wow, this is turning out well."
