House M.D.: Teamwork (2009)
Season 6, Episode 7
2/10
Garbage.
16 April 2024
I love how pathetic the show has gotten. Went from a genius detective show to sadist drama. And only House gets to win. Sod off. Activist actors in this got the best treatment by the studio. 13 & Cameron are democrats, were given the best treatment. Yet they were the least committed to the show (after s3). Kal Penn was also a democrat, Obama WH staff, got into a show which he couldn't commit to. Omar Epps also an activist, given the pompous storylines to stroke his ego, but he's not a bad actor. Soon as House went political since the pro abortion stance it preached in s3, the show started to become less brilliant .

House wins everything. Cameron pays more attention to him while showing far less emotion leaving her husband Chase. God this show has fallen in the gutter.

Those who ask for logic are idiots
4 July 2023
What a fabulous movie! More importantly extraordinary acting from the kids. They carried this film. This movie is funny & entertaining. Usually some attempts at this produces a cringy movie. But not this. This was throughly enjoyable.

Some reviews said Tapsee wasn't given enough time. What foolish complaint is that! This movies isn't about her it's about the kids. The role was apt and Tapsee did a great job. She looked happy playing the role. Brought joy into the faces just as a kid's movie should.

Every actor did their job well. Music was good. Cinematography was good. Screenplay was excellent.

Those who complain about logic in a kids movie will raving about marvel and dc movies coz they're Hollywood. They'd celebrate stuff like four more shots & lust stories coz they're "progressive." They'd hype stuff like mirzapur, KGF other flashy stuff coz it's not traditional and is rebellious.

A must watch.

The Old Man (2022– )
5/10
Terribly overrated. Terrible & overrated.
25 January 2023
72 year old Jeff Bridges beats spec ops guys in hand to hand close combat & wins.

When he was young he takes on disorganized mercenaries in Afghanistan, when he's old he takes on organized mercenaries in America. And whadya know, he's better than all of them.

When he was young he snatches a man's wife away from him & elopes from their home, when he's old he gets into the home of another guy & sleeps with his ex wife.

Other than getting to know him in the biblical sense that new squeeze provides no depth to the story but she's given a lot of time & dialogues.

Gritty dialogue, gloomy music, grandiose actors and God awful screenplay. The Old Man is soooo overrated man! I can't believe the high ratings & nice words. The dogs are good but what do these Hollywood guys want just because they write in dogs they want points for that? Don't give them that.

Not recommended.

Tulsa King (2022– )

7.5 a solid entertainer.
12 January 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This show doesn't need a spoiler alert as it's same old tale retold gonna be entertaining nevertheless. If you've seen Justified or any series like that you'd see the story coming from miles away. Again, entertaining nevertheless.

I'm still shocked from learning Sly is 75, dear God man he's a role model for tenacity & physical fitness.

I start with Sly coz not just he's the lead but he carries the show. His charisma drives this show. Not just acting if you see the show you'd know Sly's touch in it. You can see how he'd have helped direct & script certain scenes. Like in one scene, his driver Tyson's father's car and his car's position in the driveway would tell you a tale. No spoon feeding to audience about its meaning & I'm not gonna either but these are things Sly would suggest.

Second the female lead, again if you watched any series that revolves around south you'd know while the character Stacy dates Dwight (Sly) first you know she's gonna be the negative but not a villain. If you haven't realized it in first episode then they show you how she's not exclusively dating him thus a slight smear on her character. If you haven't realize even then then you'd see Dwight checking out a charming southern woman with etiquette; with divorce problems but an independent classy woman nevertheless then you'd know she's the lead. If you still don't know the formula you'd see she's a popular actress & you'd know she's gonna be his pair.

Now it may sound like I'm dissing the show, as I said I like it but I am surprised by high rating so I feel it's my duty to say it's not groundbreaking.

Scenes are just cherry picked. Things that would never happen irl but happens. The entire plot is unrealistic. The way how the plot favors the hero is unrealistic and how the villain is butchered by the plot is unrealistic. Sly can walk in & convince everyone to give him money but a domestic terrorist Villain can't and haven't done it until then. Sly can leave his people in trouble and get welcomed like a king but villain just shoots his minions at one sign of disobedience. Don't even start with me on the final shootdown. Monkeys would shoot better than the villains, heck storm troopers have better aim. Chickie's consigliere leaving him for Sly in 3 sec as if he doesn't have family and as if Mafia's biggest thing is giving properties to their top dogs as in if he left Chickie & NY even if he's single he'd be leaving a multi million dollar establishment that's under his name & control.

Oh did I mention the villain is a hard Irish accent guy in Oklahoma with Italian Sly as hero. Lol. But I don't think it's hateful they just scripted to shift Irish - Italian mob war to Tulsa.

I can go on & on about the holes in plot that are bigger than the moon. About how Sly's daughter who can't stand him will choose to reconcile and will in the next season defend his father from everyone. Which I don't mind I think the actress playing his daughter is gorgeous. Also I think Chickie's hatred towards Dwight is over his love for his daughter which wasn't reciprocated. So she'd be a big part of S2. You know Armand is gonna flip & Tucson the driver is gonna have a complex relationship with Dwight in future.

Again despite these plethora of plot holes I like it because while its no Ulysses it doesn't drive hate like every other TV series nowadays. It does have some kinda woke moments but also has some moments questioning (not critisizing) woke stuff.

So to me this is Justify rebranded. Justified had oozing charisma in Timothy Olyphant which Sly can & have matched, but Justified had Walt Goggins putting on a stellar performance balancing out the show. So imo while this first season was cool, it's gonna nothing but downhill. But gonna be a good watch during which you're not gonna be told to hate anyone irl but just support for a criminal lol.

+ ves Sly Sly Sly Costumes Refreshingly not NY/ California No politics

It's poor by Michael Bay's standards. That's Saying something.
5 October 2022
I did turn my brain off before watching it. I was eager to watch. I love these kinda movies Reynolds make Action Comedy such as Hitman's bodyguard. I always tolerated Michael Bay movies.

So believe me when I tell ya, this movie isn't worth a watch. Honestly you can waste your time on a better bad movie than this. As always the heroin pick is fabulous from Bay. Other than that nothing goes for this movie.

It doesn't have logic, it's full of loopholes. Typical Bay.

It isn't funny, doesn't have good action. Untypical.

It has bright colors & good explosions. Typical.

It doesn't have momentum, story's confusing. Untypical.

Just don't waste your time on this crap. Except for yellow Bugatti & the yellow dress Andraje wears nothing is good in this film.

Batman Unburied (2022 Podcast Series)
4/10
Another franchise ruined by wokeness.
2 October 2022
+ves 1) the idea of Bruce as a principled goth mortician would've been excellent if not for twist ruining it.

2) The podcasting is made for Batman, the methodical pace & the not over the top fantasy nature of Batman makes him the most apt Superhero for podcasting. While it may not have succeeded here, there's promise in Batman podcasts.

3) The voice actors were chosen for the role, While you may dislike the role (Barbara, Val) they did their job fine. But they also compounded the negatives of the role as they were efficient at it. Bruce Wayne was a good cast.

-ves Story, script, wokeness, characters, depth.

Batman while a dark genre was never a hateful one. The characters are disrespectful & entitled. Barbara treating her friend like an errand dog was disgraceful. The writers write characters like this & sprinkle woke dialogues like "all men are perverts."

Batman was the show which featured strong women before the modern woke who resemble the sexists of past started to shout slogans to exploit others. So keep your nonsense out of the most righteous superhero tale.

The subtle dialogues to thrust wokeness just ruins the experience. You either get irritated orbget brainwashed if you can't actively analyze their language.

The script was so average. It's no better than the gazillion detective stories out there. Written by people who don't understand the essence of Batman. Why would they, after all wokeness is Joker esque not Batman esque.

I can go on but I digress.

Kids cursing is like cocaine for Hollywood.
2 September 2022
(No major spoilers).

Was eager to see the movie after watching trailed. Within 1 minute it was irritating. The movie could've gone well w/o the need for Hero's girlfriend as the female lead is his sister. But they gotta put in a kid & make her flirt like an adult.

And I love how this modern concept in storytelling. So as per that nerds are the hero (that's fine, anyone can be a hero) but the nerd gets the popular girl. She chooses him over everyone. He doesn't go for the nerdy girl but the popular girl has her eyes on him. This is just pathetic fantasy writing by these directors & writers who wish to change their past. In so many movies this has been the case.

And the Sister, she's the most foul mouthed arrogant person. When she shouts, the fear her. She needlessly insults them when they were being polite. So she says to her friend an info about the kidnappings, so the police comes to question her because that info is true & they haven't released it to the public. So when they come to her & ask about it. What would anyone think, maybe the girl witnessed & was afraid to say it. But no, the director makes the girl think the police accuse her of the kidnappings. She insults them for this & then belittles them.

I really don't know why Hollywood makes kids curse, talk pervertedly & just be annoyed all the time. What the hell kind of message is that.

Oh also they make the girl worship Jesus. I was surprised as Hollywood only likes to use his name in vain & they avoid showing even churches (I'm not a Christian). But they conclude that angle with her concluding God isn't real. They just had to insert a needless angle just to insult Christianity.

Forget the message. The movie is average. It's not horror but a thriller that'll leave you with many questions. The cinematography is good but I don't ever give credit to these thriller cinematography. The industry around the world has nailed the technique & it really deserves not credit as it's no more art just formula. A machine could do it. Music was good. Acting was irritating but it was the script, actors acted out the script decently. The mask of the kidnapper is good, that is the only thing that'll pull you in.

Better Call Saul: Plan and Execution (2022)
Season 6, Episode 7
9/10
Kim Wexler, Soul Less Sociopath.
25 August 2022
Directors sometimes refrain from exposing the truth about their leads even if that's how they design it to be so as to avoid the paying viewer hate the lead & stop watching the show.

I was afraid that was what's gonna happen here. Kim Wexler was portrayed as a judicial activist who helps the needy praised by all was secretly a sadistic witch who used the crony con man to fulfill her dark desires.

I was afraid Vince won't speak the truth bluntly. Up until the moment Howard McGill's understanding who these two truly are I wasn't convinced Gilligan would say it. Because even in last episode Mike praises her. And his deal of approval means most in BB universe. But in this episode all comes to fruition.

Every line Howard spoke was an epiphany, from "Jimmy you're born that way" to "you get off on this." Jimmy was always who he was, he's a mischievous gremlin. Even he hesitated to torture Howard as all his previous attacks on him were out of pettiness not sadism. But Kim, she was truly amoral.

I was afraid, Vince was gonna justify her actions by having some dark secret getting revealed. But even though most didn't catch on, her actions were shown as amoral. If you have the tendency to be detached & not root for the lead & let the story tell you that, you'd have got it.

Kim Wexler, soul less sociopath.

The one who should be feared the most in a series about violent gangsters. The one who deserves no sympathy. At start of series esp after s3 I thought they were gonna show how Slippin' Jimmy's nature hurts everyone who gets close to him & thus Kim will be an unfortunate victim. Even many on reviews feel for her, but no.

It was in Jimmy's nature to be a crony, he enjoyed the win; Kim she enjoyed the kill. She enjoyed the power.

Who are you people voting it low! This is not just a great movie, it's an era defining, genre defining, technical masterpiece. An equivalent of this is Hitchcock's Psycho. People downrating this movie for whatever purposes are knuckleheads. One of the greatest movie K'wood has ever produced.

Make no mistake this movie is anti Christianity - I'm Non Christian .
7 August 2021
Don't fall to the line that its a character study on religion vs temptation of personal desire. Hollywood won't make a movie in which the priest does good deeds, but they will make one in which he slips. 'First reformed' as in Church should reform & turn into activists, like this guy pioneers? Select Scriptures are mentioned to justify why Church should be activists. The 'organ' joke in the first half which is offensive as it insists priests give into temptation is followed by insinuation that the joke is true. So they offend the Church & Church system throughout the movie but they also want them to turn activists & if they fall into line then they're "reformed." This movie is written with such hate & contempt. It drives them to show the Church in bad light. There's more activist propaganda here than Bible verses. Whatever Bible verses are there they were cherry picked to convince Church should turn activist. This movie is offensive & it's insidious. Don't give methe camera pan theory, I spotted it the moment I saw it too. But none of you avidly keen yes critics/reviewers are mentioning the scene in which the mind voice of Ethan Hawke, the priest is voiced by Cedric, the dead activist. I spotted it right off, why aren't the reviews that praise the camera pan & Last temptation reference (which was & is controversial) spot this subtle clue to show the change in mindset of the Reverend. Do not watch this movie unless you hate Christianity. If you love the world like I do watch Bat Geo, if you wanna solve the very real but over exaggerated (I don't think the world will end by 2050 I think it'll be untenable in some places basically it won't go kabloom one day, it'll harm is slowly & steadily like torture) climate change problem build solutions, innovate don't protest. I have faith we the people can solve this problem. Ifwe created it, we can solve it.

If you're an adult & rate this movie as poor. STOP WATCHING IT.
29 July 2021
This is a fantastic movie for kids. This genre rarely gets movie in kollywood. Kids end up going to Hollywood kids movie & this bleeds K'Wood industry. This movie is a refreshing no propaganda, no hate mongering, no hidden message movie that are rare these days in K'Wood so even Adults can watch this silly entertainment & laugh out loud. Dear snobs & self appraised smart guys (if you think you're smart youre not) laying criticism on the film, go watch serious movies then or read a damn book instead of watching formulaic films & series thinking it's smart.

The Hunt (2012)
8/10
Hard story, to digest & to direct.
29 May 2021
8.5/10 - The Hunt is a fantastic movie with crisp acting & smooth storytelling. The dangers of innocent lies, dangerous assumptions, group think, fanatical trust in procedural bureaucracy & prejudice are what that's been explored on this movie.

People are giving 10 stars & hailing it overly. Well I'm strict usually well actually I'm proper & honest in my rating & I don't rate movies full 10. They're saying Hollywood could never & they should learn. They should go & see an Oscar winning film called 'Mystic River' a haunting masterpiece, The Hunt while a great movie couldn't get close to that movie, few can, infact only Requiem for a dream can match the sheer intensity Mystic River.

An average film.
28 May 2021
In cooking there are dishes that employ some fine techniques like flambè or liquid nitrogen & fancy stuff, remove the facade & it's average. Memories of Murder is one such film. You got interesting characters, nice camera work & all the formula required for a stark serial killer thriller such as remote village, small old school police, innocence of the village, piano solo, big skies, empty fields & such; but there is nothing special for this movie to be rated highly. Also this ticks off multiple boxes useless romantic film critics hype up, you know the people who love The Shape of water & such films. I'm rating is a 6 fairly coz it wasn't poor, but wasn't great, wasnt even good. I don't recommend this film. I won't do that injustice. Bored as hell? You can watch this, but there's hundreds if not thousands of better thriller films out there better than this.

There shall be no salvation without suffering.
25 May 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I noticed 1) the similar eyebrows 2) the window silhouette constantly present 3) the client's tell when he blinks rapidly 4) her need for the location which wasn't needed 5) her reaction when she learnt what happened at swamp 6) the hole in his story about the 50000 withdrawal 7) his non existent pain that he insists he has but reality suggests otherwise.

I missed 1) to recollect the maid in opening scene to compare with her counter version, watched it in one go, couldn't rewind, so cleverly made. I wanted to recollect only coz I figured climax out by that point 2) basic chivalry, he would've insisted to take initiative 3) her employment at the hotel, again director placed the breadcrumb in an unimportant dialogue cleverly but I missed

Still it doesn't matter as I've found out other clues I figured out the big suspense a good 30 minutes before climax.

Indians only like it when Hollywood experiments
23 January 2021
Yup. This movie was an experiment. A challenging concept well narrated for the most part. There a portion of 5 awful minutes in the movie but that doesn't make the movie unwatchable. But people always rely on it to mock the movie. A good watch, a great attempt. Fit to watch with family. Do watch it.

3 hippies gets killed.
31 December 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Basically if you have not worked in film industry, you cannot criticize this. To be clear, the first 2 hour is a depiction of old Hollywood. An outsider (inc me) can't nitpick on its factual nature. Insiders agree with the depiction. So it is factual. Some will say it's sluggish but it's only that if you aren't curious in nature. The 2 hour depicts the life of a diminishing actor, his stuntman & an ex actress. It divulges the personal life of the professionals. Not like your modern actors who act (better) off screen showing off their off screen life.

Not a typical Tarantino movie but better because there realism in this. But it does have his signature over the top violence in the last 20 minutes. Must watch.

Unadulterated & Underrated. A great film.
24 December 2020
"Not Pixar's best" is what most reviews say. I beg to differ. This is a great film even by Pixar's standards. It's a beautiful film visually & storywise.

It's a coming of age film, the one actually you want your kids to see, especially if your kid is an introvert or has a shy personality.

It's such a heartwarming movie in the typical Pixar way. In fact it's more pure than the creator's previous work; Inside Out, which was a stellar film.

The crux of the story is how the shy Dinosaur overcomes his fear & insecurity. Unlike most Pixar movies this has a lot of additional characters that has weightage.

Unlike many Pixar movies this one has a lot of Southern characters, maybe that's why the ratings are unjustifiably low! This movie is all about family values, friendship, loyalty, hardwork & kindness.

The characters are scripted so well. With every 10 minutes the shy dinosaur becomes more daring & mature. At the end what we see is some one who's comfortable in his own skin & his quirky ways & doesn't let fear control him.

One of the best Pixar movie. For me top 5 & besides Up & Coco the most heartwarming movie. Certainly the most visually stunning movie Pixar ever made.

A must watch, which deserves an 8.5 rating.
