Cemetery Junction (2010)
It's a mess, unnecessary
Oh my God I felt really embarrassed. I'm a huge fan of the early work from Gervais/Merchant and I was expecting something different. This film is a mess, it looks like they wrote it during a weekend. The pace is incredibly lame, the acting is so poor and everything about it is boring and cheesy. They squeezed some funny sketches for some reason and made the film even more chaotic. This movie was really unnecessary and it looks like they don't even care.
The Tourist (2022)
Good start
It starts well. It's like a little homage to various films, specially Memento and Fargo. Unfortunately it goes way down after from the fourth episode. The 5th takes a lifetime to finish. It becomes so boring and so silly. I couldn't watch the sixth episode because it was so lame so I abandoned it. I really don't care what happened. Zero interest at the end.
Kimi (2022)
Soderbergh, really?
It looked like typical nowadays thriller; not a masterpiece but you can have a nice time. Good for me, I thought.
However, at some point, the movie gets so silly and the end is remarkably stupid. It's like a parody. I was so embarrassed when I learned that Steven Soderbergh directed this. I couldn't believe it. How did he let that happen?
Evil Genius: The True Story of America's Most Diabolical Bank Heist (2018)
Disappointed at the end
We have a great story. More clues are unfolded upon the episodes and it seems that it is being built up for some great final twist that never happens. I felt it was a waste of time. You can tell the same in two hours and that's it.
The Mandalorian (2019)
A modern Knight Rider
Basically, the show is a modern version of "knight rider"; there is this high-tech-equipped guy, who has a mysterious past, and goes from one place to another and messes with all the local people's problems.
Les mans buides (2003)
great movie
The life in a Catalan (Southern France) village near the border may be quite boring. A young man who is escaping from his homeland is seeking for something and may find it in this weird place. You see the relationship between the people in the village, their dreams, their past and their perspectives in life. The foreigner is hosted there and is messed in the deep whereabouts of these people and tries somehow to fit in. This is such a great film. Nothing unexpected if you have seen the other movies from Marc Recha. He is one of a very few directors with personality nowadays. Great performance and originality. Been said it is boring, ain't real life boring?
