Did they run out of budget or ideas?
21 July 2020
I love time traveling stories. This was such a great movie until I guess they ran out of money and the end to me was just plain stupid. Oh well, I would give it a one because of that, but it is still very well done. They should respect the viewers and finish decently. Oh my goodness!

The best depiction of a believable Christ. I have complained in Church that Christ is never shown joking, laughing, dancing, or mingling with human as a human and also as a God in a way one can respect and be impressed. This is the Jesus here. There is much respect from who He is and what he stands for. This does not pull towards any of the Christian sects in particular, although it was conceived in Utah (no pun intended). I am a latter-day-saint and was surprised at how some LDS people may go, wait, would Jesus really say that? I think He would LOL... I could see it fit our beliefs with some understanding and open mind.

Pay attention to how he does not judge people in the way that they feel minimized, no matter what. The actor plays a Christ that is above the crowd but yet at their level. He knows they are human not like him, half God/half human, and you see when he looks at them that he is millions of light years ahead, so He understands them and respect their limits... and one can see that with the patience and love he has toward short fuse Peter / this is not a spoiler, they mention the complexity of the character in the bonus features.

Can't wait for more of this. Thanks to the people that came up with this project and all of those who helped to make it happen. This is a miracle you can watch and learn something from.

I don't like the theme song LOL... but everything else is awesome!

The kind of movies about Mormons I want to see more and more
1 September 2015
I went to see this movie with my wife (who has been to a girl's camp of that kind, and my two "girls" now adults and no longer living with us who were participated in those camps and the program for Young Women in the LDS church. We all laughed and cried during the movie because it was fun, serious, and entertaining at the same time. It was not intended to make fun of the women's camp, no character was actually retarded as we see in LDS movies so often. I like this director because the characters can be funny without being stupid. That is hard to do and still have a movie to be funny.

The story is very well drafted and the plot flows without losing track of the main character while building on the character of every one except the father, mother, and stepfather of the main character. I thought it was OK. They could have cast guys that could act a little better but their part was short, we just had to know that they existed anyway. Disney does that all the time.

So, I say go watch and enjoy a nice movie with some good messages not only for young women but everyone in the family. This way the boys get to know what the girls do at these camps they never get to go to... LOL... I thought it was interesting and sometimes would ask "do you do that a these camps?" and they would nod saying yes.. which I thought was really funny.
