Absolutely Breathtaking in 3D...
1 January 2013
As many before me, I looked at the reviews on IMDb and was not interested in the movie. I hold IMDb reviews and ratings with high regard. However, on this movie, the ratings/reviews aren't even close. It deserves a 10 out of 10 for every reason; storyline, production value; artistry; fun; beauty; cuteness; etc., etc. I know we all have opinions and that is the beauty of our choices. I'm very glad I saw this movie and would recommend it to anyone looking to have a great movie experience. As my title indicates, I recommend it in 3D if you have the ability, but I watched it in both 3D and 2D and it was marvelous. For those who had the audacity to give it a 1 star, I would like better reasons other than the ones given. I respect them but it certainly isn't a 1 star considering the junk that is out there that deserves a 1 star!

This was Awesome
15 November 2008
When the first review I read was so negative, I had to write this review. Sometimes I think reviewers just go on an on to hear themselves as being authorities on anything to do with Star Wars. This animated rendition was excellent, fast paced, fun, well written and I thought I would see an IMDb review of around 8 out of 10. When I saw 5.2 I was shocked and started to read the reviews. Upsetting to say the least so this is to offset those terrible, negative and nonobjective comments. To say it was only for kids and not for anyone else is bogus. It's for the entire family and avid Star Wars lovers will enjoy this as much as anyone. Maybe the younger generation just doesn't like change and can only accept big box office names and special effects. This had really fun vehicles, storyline and I wasn't disappointed in any way. I was just disappointed in the shallow reviews of the horrible bad reviews. Get a life and step out of yourselves. This was fun and will keep you captivated the whole way! Enjoy!

Vantage Point (2008)

Intriguing
12 July 2008
This is one of the most captivating movies I've seen this year. The nature of the film requires it be seen at either the big screen or blu-ray disk. I saw it on the latter and from start to finish I was caught in a fascination of a well choreographed, fast-paced, wonderful thriller. I thought the acting by all to include the well-know (Dennis Quaid, John Hurt, Sigourney Weaver) and not-so-well-known was superb. There are very few films that I start and stay without getting up and taking a break but this was one of them.

I noticed that most comments compare this movie to the Bourne series. I don't think that does it justice. It's better than the Bourne movies and I don't have to worry about a sequel.

This is a keeper and one that can be watched over and over to see the intense detail from every perspective.

Enjoy!

Just Delightful
3 September 2007
When I saw the average for this film was 6.2 I was uncertain whether I would watch it or not - I am so glad I DID! It was simply delightful and the acting superb, convincing and absolutely fun. I recommend this to anyone who wants to be entertained with a purity and simplicity rarely seen in today's films. It should be rated G and not PG since there was nothing offensive in it and I can't wait to watch it again with my grandson! Peter O'Toole, Harvey Keitel and the little girls made it all so believable. The English scenery, the attention to detail to the time period around 1917 and the entire storyline was wonderful. I recommend this movie to anyone who just wants to believe that there really are fairies. Enjoy!

All the Hype in the World Couldn't Improve this Movie!
4 August 2005
I waited for the DVD and the amount of marketing to convince people it was good was overwhelming. I certainly had my expectations that Oliver Stone would finally produce a good movie but I was thoroughly disappointed. Oliver Stone continues to produce movies that are horrible. From the weird Irish accents, emphasis on Alexander's gay relationships to the failed attempt by Alexander (Farrell) to inspire his legions as William Wallace (Mel Gibson) did in Braveheart, this movie was a joke. I'm pretty tolerant of bad acting and directors trying to make big budget historical productions demonstrating some knowledge of the subject matter but this was literally 165 minutes of my life that I can't get back. It's amazing what you don't get for $150 million.

Truly Incredible - One of the Best Movies I've Ever Enjoyed!!!!
23 March 2005
I purchased this movie on DVD and watched all the additional items on the second disk to include the short but delightful movie of "Jack Jack Attack" which was outstanding. It also prepared me for the movie which was even better. Everything came together on this movie and it deserved recognition by the academy awards; the voices were perfect; the storyline and action terrific; the captivation for the entire 1 hours and 55 minutes only left me waiting for the sequel. I enjoyed "Finding Nemo" by PIXAR but this movie was even better if you can believe that? The special effects and animation were dynamite and I can't say enough how much I enjoyed it -- on a scale from 1 to 10 it gets a 20 in my book!
