Such a powerful movie, even after watching it over, it still made me cry. It's hard to imagine such kind of beasts exists between us.

Peter Jackson has done a great job. Hats off to him.

good work done by the team
5 December 2021
Team effort is seen. Storyline has been given a fresh look. Acting in nepali style doesn't seems to improve but still a whole team effort is visible throughout the movie. A new kind of nepali movie to watch.

simple and easy to watch
28 November 2020
It's not easy to make a movie in Nepal, especially like these ones. It's also hard to watch these kind of movies here (in Kathmandu) as we don't get to see these kind of pictures in our theatres much. So, one can easily say that the team has done commendable job making this movie. As most Nepalese people are still not very familiar with nun life and life in Mustang, it is very entertaining one also. The movie itself is very good and easy to watch, no cheap masala to get your brain bust. The story is also very original and insightful as it also gives us the teachings of buddha in practical sense. Overall I enjoyed it fully. I hope to these kind of movies often in Nepali movie theaters. Hope they make it again.

everyone wants to be a joker
19 September 2020
What would happen if everyone starts to behave like joker?. It's always very easy to go against the establishment, call names, but what would happen if this really happened in real life? Maybe the producer just wanted a new twist. But sadly the Batman has become a sadistic movie. There is no childlike innocence in children movie. Unfortunately all the children's character (some of them are still children's, like Harry Potter), has turned, changed. Spider-Man is no longer Spider-Man. They have turned billionaire and even joker has become batman and batman has become joker. The World has turned upside down.

A movie you'll expect it to be
23 June 2020
It's a perfect perfect movie. A very feel good movie. It's a place where you can find it only in a movie like this. I know, I know that this may be a movie with a very stale plot where you know the end just from the beginning. But once in a while we long to see these kind of movies other than the movies with thick plots and nonstop fighting and cutting edge vfx and Hollywood style editing. I know that we can find these kind of plot in every Mike and Garry's novels, stories, b movies etc. But every now and then when we give ourselves some time to see these kind of movies, it makes our dream alive. Those dream we dreamt, when we were young. I know that in the 21st century anyone can cook, but after Fourty, the hip starts to break and the enthusiasm dies. And when we get to see these kind of movie, it gives us some kind of consolation, even though it may be false. Sometime it is very good to live in false hope. Thanks for the entire team for continuing to bring these kind of movies.

life as it is

Warning: Spoilers
Watched this movie again, felt as good as first time. The acting no doubt is very good. We see very good movies nowadays where money don't play. It was just a one man show. So many praises has been written that can't find words. One thing though I want to add is, that this movie wants you to celebrate is the gifts of capitalism and modern age. Just watch the whole movie and you'll see the endless lines of vehicle's with speed limit and endless roads all pointing to the achievements done in this age. We can see that just after seventy years after the great war, England has developed as a modern nation with so long roads that it doesn't end even driving all night. Of course most western movies celebrate capitalism, but not in subtle way as this movie. Just look at the roads, the car he is using and the concrete he is referring about. Hats off to tom hardy and the director. This the movie you can't miss if you are a man.

a really beautiful movie
2 August 2019
It's the love, the power of love, and the resolution to break oneself from the rot. It's really only few can achieve and when they try, even god has to rewrite the path that he he(or she) has planned for us. Of course director George re has I believe wrote this screenplay in one night. Absolutely loved to watch this again. As usual music by Thomas Newman is splendid. Matt Damon is superb in his action even when this is not the "Bourne" or "Ocean Eleven".

A youthful nostalgia
10 November 2018
For the umpteenth time I watched this movie. Never feels like some old movie. The trios acting always good. Obviously this being the feel good movie, their is happy ending. Theatre goers (if this movie is still being played) will come out feeling good for their life. Of course not everyone's life is that gorgeous, but we can make one if we like. This movie has clearly shown us that to be happy in life we don't need much (and iPhone or galaxy). And it never gets old no matter how many time I watch it.

Weirdest movie I've ever seen.
3 October 2018
Weirdest movie I've ever seen, from the beginning we know that its a comedy because of bill Murray, but it's more sublime than you can see. Sometime you don't know which is present and which one is flashback. It's a travalogue, but fan of Owen Wilson may be disappointed. There is always something going on, nothing goes by the schedule (itinerary) as Owen had wanted. They've shown typical Indian feature but you can't find it in other movies. The weirdest part is when the train is lost it's way. I've never seen a movie where the train is lost which runs on track. All in all it's a typical British drama on the train, a glimpse which is shown midway. They've given ample reverence to Indian culture as well as showing its quirky side. As I've never travelled in train, I didn't know they had room service and first class with a British touch. Loved the movie but I am not keen to re watch it

a movie of everday life
1 October 2018
A very fine movie. It is a movie of De Niro. There's a little blame put on him by people that there was not much space for other characters. Of course without him this movie wouldn't have been watchable. There is a scene I remember where he pulls up his pant a little for the girl who tries to hangout with him for money, while he was waiting for his son to return outside his apartment. This kind of light scenes are becoming rare in Hollywood movies nowadays. It was prevalent in Thirties', Fortis, fifties or even in sixties and seventies. With recent movies like "The Intern" and "Everybody's fine", Hollywood seems to be gearing for family drama movies with everyday lives of simple people. A kind of movie surge seen only in animated movies. It's a welcome move for me. I like the movies like 'The Apartment(1959)' very much.

a splash of memory
22 August 2018
It is evident all over the world, wherever you are born, you'll never forget the place you are born. And that's the irony of today's gov't all over the world. All the world's gov't is demolishing the memory we have of our child dream homes where we were born. Same here, the gov't demolished our home in the name of development and now all we've left is some vague memory. Sure we will never be able to rewind the past. Such a beautiful past we had. Hats off to the team.

Beautiful and simple mystery
21 August 2018
I love the way they make movies in the 60s and 70s. They were very simple to watch, no foul languages, the characters are very simple persons (even a villain till spotted), the scenes are beautiful (even in Black and White). There are many movies I like of those times. When you push play, you immediately go to the decade and one can only be nostalgic of those times. I very much regret that I was not born earlier. Regarding the movie the plot is simple if not in the first place and there are no professional involved makes it more interesting. Loved this movie, wish they (Hollywood) produce more like these films.

continuity of the stale trend.
8 April 2018
While watching this film from the start, felt like some kind of Ad campaign of some Apartment sellers. There are some kiss scenes like in western movies which are kind of off for Nepali viewers, but we fail to categorize the movies. It's all mixed up movies to entertain the mass. But it is clear from the start that only some dialogs are good, not the story or the story-line. Newcomers are pushed far back, they have not strong characters. In fact not a single character has a strong back. The story is so loosely based that if you try to go through the story-line you'll feel sick like watching some c grade Indian serials. But surely the mass love those kind of silly jokes, romance songs, that's why it is still showing even after third week. Forget 'My left Foot' or 'The theory of Everything", we can't expect those kind of movies to be made here for at least a hundred years. The mass is not ready yet. In the end it is nothing more than a cheap 'c' grade Indian movie, but the irony is that these type of movies are being promoted by our beloved duo Madan and Hari aka MaHa. It is beyond comprehension as to why they were so desperate to make these kind of movies.

A very simple movie with a guide to history the world didn't knew.
22 July 2017
A very beautiful movie and an excellent one. cinematography is excellent with beautiful scenes of Azerbaijan. I didn't knew Azerbaijan had mountains and snow till I saw this movie. The movie is set in pre- 1st world war time and after seeing this movie one knows that there is a country named Azerbaijan. The story is a love story set in war period. Its pace is very slow and needless to say as is not a Hollywood movie the sets are fine. The love story of cross culture was very usual in the 1960 and 70s. Most of the scenes of action are in the dialogue form as clear with the case of budget. But considering a movie from Azerbaijan, I think it is a feat itself. A good movie.

A true Classic
10 November 2016
What a Movie. A true classic. I've never so felt happy after a movie. It was a heartbroken moment when in the end she hear's a bang and goes screaming to the apartment door. It was a shock. A very good shock and a jolly good way for a happy ending. will never forget a movie. Of course you get this kind of life only in movies. can't get this simple life even in 21 century. wish I could live that life. It truly is a movie to watch and re-watch and a very good one if you are alone. A true classic in a true movie sense. No nonsense in any of a single scene. Every scene is so lively to watch. I've watched hundreds of remake in Hollywood, Bollywood and Even in our country. Hats off to the team.
