Halo (2022– )

A slow burning dumpster fire
21 April 2022
For some ungodly reason they decided to ignore everything that makes you want to see a live action version of Halo.

The only way to present Halo is like a war film. They turned every character into an exposition dump, why?

The character, Kwan Ha is not my type of rebel scum. I don't care about her story. I never once thought, hey I would love to see a Halo show where we don't see the Master Chief be the MASTER CHIEF. I'd much rather see characters that don't elevate the Halo universe. Instead the entire show is a reminder that throwing money at the situation isn't the answer.

I get it. They want to make money. The right thing to do is give that money to people that actually care about the franchise. People that are going to make the world come alive.

This is one fight that shouldn't have been started and should not be finished. They didn't make the show for people that care about Halo. For people that know nothing about Halo; they aren't going to like it. Really, to say that you like this, you'd have to be getting paid or you lost the bet counting how many times Master Chief removes his helmet.

Hearsay is the new truth
10 July 2021
Lets suppose that I tell my daughter that once I saw a flock of flying pigs with my own eyes. Years later after my passing she recounts the day I told her my account of the flying pigs. The most advanced generalized intelligence ever made by man running on a pseudo-entangled quantum computer analyzes her telling of the story and determines that she is 100% truthful. The world can now be rest assured that flying pigs are real.

That sounds like an appeal to ignorance and several other human fallacies at work. It's dumb.

So, if you can dismiss the crackhead logic used in this show and watch it purely for entertainment then it's still dumb.

All that I can really say is that you better hope I'm not the one that the aliens ask for advice as to why they shouldn't nuke us from orbit.

Star Trek: Lower Decks (2020–2024)

Only the name is Star Trek
10 August 2020
Warning: Spoilers
If you want to watch and enjoy a real Star Trek cartoon watch the original 1973. This show is the answer to Kiri-kin-tha's first law of metaphysics. That reference makes no sense to you? Don't know the answer? Don't worry, this show was made by people for and like you.

Star Trek: Lower Decks wasn't made for anyone that likes Star Trek.

Something as simple as knowing that a virus would be detected and screened out by the transporter bio-filters is ignored in the very first episode. It's done just to serve the plot and not to preserve just one of many things that makes Star Trek, STAR TREK. Star Trek is suppose to be intelligent science fiction. You can still be funny and maintain that. This neither funny or intelligent. It certainly isn't exploring the human condition. It's a journey into the mundane.

Really, I challenge you to take a step back, remove "Star Trek" from it's name and ask yourself, "is this a good cartoon?" You might as well since it's most definitely not Star Trek.

If "What Men Want" and "Glee" had a baby

It's a decent show and has potential to become great or really, I mean REALLY suck.

The scenes with her father are very touching and I'm glad that her parents are very accomplished actors.

I hope they go more melodramatic with the stories. It will make the musical numbers that more powerful as they'd serve as exposition as to what may or may not happen next with the characters. They're already do that but please do, go full on.

The emotion of animation
7 October 2019
From the timing to the story and the style; at its core this is a very masterfull story told with beautiful delicate animation. It's not easy telling a story without words but when you can, not do but CAN; well, you get a powerful display of raw, one might even say, PRIMAL essence of character.

This is why we make animation. This is why we tell stories. have fun with this show and be prepared for the feels.

This show answers the question, "why do good guys finish last?" This isn't one of the good guys.

Kill it with fire.

I can't watch this show anymore. The entire premise is just too idiotic.

The problem is that when you choose a setting based in reality then interject a dumb story arc it doesn't work as a TV series.

They did a good job adapting this from the movie. As a show it's painfully obvious that we need brainless movies but not brainless series.

This show is like telling someone the same joke over and over. It was really funny the first time. It was funny the second time.

It was pretty funny the 3rd.

The 4th time it was still kind of funny.

The 5th time, yeah that was funny.

The 6th time, why don't you tell another joke man?!

The 7th time, that's not even funny anymore.

The 8th time, can you just stop?!

The 9th time, Look man, we aint fallin' for the banana in the tailpipe.

Nuke it from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.

Getting rid of Rosanne was a big, BIG, mistake.

As of now this show is in critical condition, on life support and in a coma.

Really, if I wanted to watch the walking dead, I'd watch, The Walking Dead.

Off to a good start from viewing the first episode.
25 September 2018
This show is awesome and yes it's not only as good as the original, it's better. Let's see why: The actors do their own stunts. The writing is solid. The acting is serviceable; tight none the less. The first episode was directed by Justin Lin; come on now, this show was made for him! They kept the main theme song. They kept the car from the original. They kept the setting the same. Best of all, the actors are believable; not that they weren't in the original, but since this has more action and many of the cast and crew working on it are from the big screen, they really raised the bar and have to bring it, and they brought on.
