The premise of "Manifest" of having a plane mysteriously land years after takeoff with the crew and passengers onboard returning to a world that has moved on without them, sounds intriguing however it never reaches it's potential. Manifest clearly borrows from the tv series "Lost" but fell way short of that mark. It is hard to believe Robert Zemeckis is the executive producer of Manifest, we know he is capable of much better. Manifest is very reminiscent of a soap opera with mediocre actors being over dramatic. Episodes quickly turned very predictable midway though season 1. Originally a mediocre show on NBC is much worse since Netflix took over.

This movie which is based on a true story could have been so much better. Dennis Quaid did a fine job in his performance and those who portrayed his family did an ok job. My major complaint is why did Hollywood need to make out two preteen kids (who was not involved in the real event) act like they are geniuses. I found this addition very distracting and insulting to have two kids listening to air traffic controllers and trying to explain what is happening to each other and us the audience. This part was totally fictionalized and unnecessary. Other than it was on ok family movie. Could have been better though.

If you are a James Bond save your money and skip this one. James Bond has gone Hollywood woke, no Bond women and very politically correct. The next Bond will likely either be gay or transgender.
