Among Wolves (2023)
My Aunt Rented It, So I Felt Obligated To Watch It
Should I start with the camera work, production design, direction or the dialogue? Sometimes it's really painful to see decent actors in their twilight.
The camera and lighting are lacking. Looks like DSLR footage. Movies set in the old west don't have old props. Everything would be relatively new. This looks like it was decorated out of someone's grandmother's basement. I guess I shouldn't blame the bad acting on the director, but he allowed the overacting. As for the dialogue, it was clunky and awkward, at best.
I was going to give it three stars, just for the casting of Jeff Fahey, but had to take away one for Tom Berenger.
Hey, at the end of the day, Lee got his film made.
The Matrix Resurrections (2021)
They should have stopped with the first one.
The first film was good. Really good. It had action, heart and originality. By this point, it just feels like a sad money grab with no substance.
Plot holes everywhere and if they are addressed, they are the weakest of excuses. Half of the story felt like a bland repeat of the very first film.
The acting was stiff and tried to be cleaver, but fell painfully short. There was no reason to care about these characters anymore. The audience is no longer able to identify with them and they appear to just be going through the motions.
The story was slow, painfully slow, and contained a lot of very unnecessary exposition. The dialogue and action were very predictable and there was really nothing original about this film.
The direction was lazy. Someone had a good idea once and just like George Lucas, has tried to redirect a dead franchise with obvious monetary motives. The character emotion was flat as a result.
Overall, if you were a fan of the first film, but not too keen on the second or third one, don't waste your time. This will be two and a half hours you'll never get back.
Quantico (2015)
The lead actress is terrible
I'd never heard of her or seen her before this show. I can see why. She's a horrible actress! Never mind the bad plot twists and lazy writing. Even with a good script, the show would be terrible as long as she's in the cast.
See (2019)
Unbelievable Premise
How did they build anything? Seriously? How did they all happen to wear coordinated, like-color, outfits? Hunting, fishing, etc. I think it would have been better if they were kore on the legally blind rather than totally blind level. Couldn't make it though the first episode. Also, it's really overacted.
