Monk: Mr. Monk Takes a Vacation (2002)
Favorite childhood episode!
I've rewatched Monk off & on since it first aired! & this episode is always the one that reminds me of Monk! I remember watching this episode for the first time when I was super little. Probably 8 or so. It scared me so bad but I loved it! The maids are truly evil in this episode. & seeing the maid in the suitcase at the end of the episode was what really freaked me out! When I was little, my favorite thing in the whole world was going to a hotel.. and this episode made me a little uneasy about going to one again. My mom & I love monk so much & we've been watching for over 20 years! Perfect casting!!
Love on the Spectrum U.S. (2022)
Wow!!!
I had seen this floating around Netflix but I wasn't sure if I'd like it so I ignored it for a while. But then I realized Abbey from TikTok was in it so I thought.. why not, I'll give it a shot. WOW. I mean, WOW!! This show is pure love. As someone who lives with disabilities, this show has completely warmed my heart. Every single episode makes me laugh, smile, cry, and feel so heartfelt. I want everyone of these people to be protected & find love & happiness. Some of the things they each talk about, (fears, struggles they had growing up), it all hits so close to home & I felt not to alone in life while I was watching! I'm halfway through season 2 & really hoping they come with more seasons. I watched all of this in a day and a half and I'm craving more. One day, I hope I'll find love & happiness!
Confetti (2006)
Rare Gem!
I had recently broken up with my ex & was living in a one bedroom apartment with no WiFi or cable. I went to the store & found this movie for only $1. I thought why not, I need something to watch & I've never seen this. Man, am I glad I did! This movie is hilarious and wonderful!! I love mockumentary movies and this one takes the cake! It's set in England I believe and so funny! It's about 3 couples competing for most original wedding! Each couple's wedding is definitely out there. I was actually surprised by the winner but it was a good choice! Definitely watch this movie if you ever get the chance!
Yes, Dear: Pilot (2000)
Solid beginning!
The pilot showed how wonderful this show was going to be! Jimmy & Greg already had chemistry! The ending of Sammy walking on water will always be a classic & iconic scene! One of the best!!!
Some pilot episodes are weird and don't flow with the rest of the series. This doesn't apply to Yes, Dear. It feels like just a regular episode of the series which is great!
The only thing I'm confused about is... was it always the plan for Jimmy, Christine & the boys to live in their guest house? Is that why they were coming to visit anyway? I just assumed they were coming to visit and just never left lol.
Underwater (2020)
I really enjoyed!
I couldn't sleep last night so I was scrolling through Hulu for a movie to watch. I found this & thought I'd give it a try. I'm so glad I did! I really really enjoyed it. I've always been a fan of Kirsten Stewart ever since she was in the 2004 movie "speak".
I also really enjoyed seeing Vincent Cassel. I really enjoyed him in the 2005 movie Derailed.
The only negative thing I have to say about ocean movies is that they are so dark. I always have trouble seeing what's going on. But aside from that.. my favorite character probably was Emily. She started out as the weakest most nervous character and by the end.. she transformed her fear and she helped save her teammates as best as she could!
I always hate that in these types of movies there's usually always someone who sacrifices themselves but I understand that if Norah didn't blow everything up.. no one would have made it! & the ending of the newspapers clippings... definitely shows how much government has control & makes ya wonder.. what are they hiding from us?! Is this why they don't want us exploring areas?
Stowaway (2021)
Plot holes but good story.
My parents turned this on yesterday and I decided to watch with them! It wasn't a terrible movie. Toni Collette & Anna Kendrick were great!
However there were a few things we didn't care much about the movie.
1. The music. It was the wrong type for suspenseful scenes.
2. We didn't like that the whole time the commander was talking on the phone you couldn't hear the other line. Made things a little confusing.
3. How the heck did Michael get hurt and stuck on the space craft? They never went into that. We watched the first 45 minutes wondering if he was an alien, murderer, something.. & then nothing was said. Kind of weird. I understand it's called stowaway because it obviously a movie about choices & life & death. But they could have explored a little of why he was even there to begin with. Maybe would have changed the sacrifice a little bit.
Overall not a terrible movie. I loved all the space scenes. Just wish there was more detail and a little more fast paced!
Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close (2011)
WOW
I watched this movie when it came out in theaters. It broke me. I remember crying so hard the lady behind me had to give me tissues as she was hysterically sobbing too! This movie was so heart wrenching and beautiful! Sandra bullock and Tom banks. Oh my. & viola davis! Wow!!!!! The scene with the World Trade Center just breaks your heart. Sandy did such an incredible job. This role was definitely a different one for her before she started taking more serious roles. And she rocked it!
But my favorite part of the entire film is the ending. When we find out the mother was following him the whole time to make sure he was Safe. TEARS!!!!
I've only been able to watch this movie that one time because of how it broke me but I'm hoping I can watch again!!
Suitcase Killer: The Melanie McGuire Story (2022)
Eh. Lacks a lot of evidence.
This is a typical lifetime movie. Definitely fits the format of dramatization and misinformation.
There was a lot that went down that wasn't included in the movie. They changed a lot too. Melanie's children were smaller at the time of bills death. And they each had behavioral problems. They didn't even cover any of the evidence of bill's gambling problem and they hardly focused on the closing of their new house. THE MAIN EVIDENCE FOR EVERYTHING.
If you want to know factual information about this case, I highly suggest listening to the podcast: Direct Appeal: the Melanie McGuire story. The only thing I've ever listened on the case that is actually factual.
I've talked to Melanie in the past. This movie made her look stupid, naive and evil. She's neither one of those things and she's 100% innocent. She was convicted in circumstantial evidence! That is all!
Nurse Jackie: Sidecars and Spermicide (2014)
Powerful episode
I've watched this series quite a few times. It's definitely in my top 10!
But this episode absolutely breaks my heart which is why I love the show so much!!
Nurse shows shows so much how addiction really is in some situations. A functioning addict. It's not always someone living in a filth house with no job. Sometimes it's this! Someone who is independent, working, with a life, but absolutely no intentions of getting sober for their family. Completely sabotaging any relationship and stabbing anyone in the back to get what they want.
One of my favorite character Antionette breaking her sobriety breaks my heart. I understand it was 100% her decision to take that first sip. But every time I cry during that dinner scene.
Jackie knew what she was doing. She knew Antoinette was vulnerable & was struggling and she used it to her advantage so she could keep suing. Even after hearing that her husband had passed during a relapse.. she still continued to let her fail as staying sober. & then to bail on the agreement and to only sign Antoinette into Rehab.. I still get goosebumps.
As someone who has lived with an addict, it's like this exactly. You finally have to give up on a lot of people because they truly don't want help and it's sad.
Beautiful directing & writing!
Hocus Pocus 2 (2022)
I enjoyed it!!!
I waited all my life for a sequel so I definitely watched with an open mind. Yes the characters were a little different (personality).. and the purpose of the witches were different. (The first movie being about sucking the lives out of children). This movie was a little bit different but I enjoyed it!!! Considering the age of the originals.. I thought they brought everyone back as good as they could! I also loved seeing more of Billy and finally learning the truth surrounding his death! I really enjoyed the teenage girls and thought they were great actresses and bought a new modern twist to the story!
The Walgreens bit took me out. It was so funny!! But the ending got me. It was definitely a little emotional but executed perfectly! I give this a 10!!
There's always going to be something someone will complain about. But these characters have been a part of our lives for 29 years. It was fabulous and I loved every minute of it!!
Passions (1999)
I've been rewatching & WOW!!
YouTube has all the full episodes available!! It's still so cringy! Awkward bad acting, storylines and scenes that drag on for weeks, no character development and they are always talking to themselves but oh my gosh.. still has addicting as it was in 2001!!!!!!! I can't wait to keep watching!! The most memorable storyline I remember the most from my childhood is the Sheridan/Lois/Beth baby kidnapping storyline! That clown freaked me out!! Great great great show and happy I get to relive my childhood memories!!! If anyone has a chance, race to YouTube to watch again!! Tabitha & Timmy are still so adorable and evil- it's great!
And it's so awesome to watch the beginning and see how Theresa, gwen, & Ethan met! Still drama and obsessed from day 1!
And Just Like That...: When in Rome (2021)
Still going great!
I enjoyed this episode!
This show is staying with the times and I'm loving it. Someone is always going to have something negative to say about it so keep doing this show!!
I'm excited to see the idea of Miranda becoming a weed smoking lesbian!!!!!! Although I love Steve and Miranda and they have been around since the beginning... I don't know maybe they really meant to be Anymore?!
Charlotte being emotional at Chey's comedy show was great too! As someone as girly as Charlotte I'm sure she's struggling well with Rose's confession to not feeling like a girl, but she's trying her best to accept and be a great mother!! Also think Charlotte is not wrong to worry about Miranda's alcohol bottles. I do hope they don't try to tie in marijuana use with addiction. But we'll see how the road goes.
It was nice to see Natasha again! Even tho she wasn't wanting to talk to Carrie I think it's the closure they both needed even if they both have "moved on"
Great episode and can't wait to see the rest!!!!
And Just Like That...: Hello It's Me (2021)
Wow!!!!
I was worried at first! I wasn't getting the click of the show for the first 20 minutes. Once Lily's concert happened, it felt like the old gang again.
& let me tell you... the death scene of Big had me bawling hysterically. I wondered at first why didn't she just call an ambulance but I truly think Carrie saw the way Big was looking at her snd he was going to die and second. That's exactly why she kissed him & held him until he died. True love. I'm still crying. Great Start!!!!!!
Cruella (2021)
Favorite Disney Reboot!!
I was surprised!! I haven't been a fan of any reboots or Disney re dos and this movie surpassed my expectations! Emma stone was AMAZING & SO SEXY! I was so happy to see Emma Thompson as the villain of the film. She's been a favorite of mine since the movie "junior" the coloring, The soundtrack, and the wardrobe all marvelous!
The reason I give it 9 stars is because we still never really find out why she later decides to steal 101 Dalmatians to make a fur coat out of it. The ending of this movie made it seem she was the new queen and the dogs new master. But, maybe I read that wrong.
Over all,
AMAZING MOVIE.
This Is Us: So Long, Marianne (2019)
Wow!!!
This episode was the best episode of the season for me!!!!!
I loved how close Kevin and Tess were!!
Growing up, I wasn't raised around my family so it's awesome to see that close family relationships do exist.
The ending with Nicky and the shrimp and I'm assuming HIS SON JACK, brought tears to my eyes.
However, nothing prepares for the emotional roller coaster of finding out that that rebecca's breakdown and forgetfulness was a flash forward and showing how quickly what's about to come.
LOVED LOVED LOVED IT!!
Splitting Up Together (2018)
7 stars.. FOR NOW!
We're only in episode one and I really enjoyed it! The show focus on a couple who's marriage is falling apart. They decide to continue living on the same property but get divorced. As the episode goes on, you see how much in pain The wife is. She's craving romance, sex, love.. but above all else Communication. As someone who is in a relationship that is coming to an end, I could relate on a certain level. We don't have children and we aren't married, but the fighting for the relationship and yearning for things is coming from only one side. This is definitely a must see- and I see it going far! I hope! They always cancel the good seasons..
