Xanadu (2013)
A top movie debut from Scottish brother team
Xanadu is a triumph for up and coming Scottish filmmaking.
What a refreshing change to see a Scottish film that doesn't involve gangsters, crime or drugs.
Directed by Dominic Reynolds, who co-wrote the script with brother John, Xanadu combines laughs and twists galore to create an imaginative tale of author Richard Butler, who finds himself trapped in the Scottish manor home his novels are set in.
Jonathan Fegan is terrific in the lead role and ably supported by a strong supporting cast.
Xanadu deservedly went down a treat at this summer's Deep Fried Film Festival and I really hope it finds itself a wider audience.
The Reynolds brothers and their talented team behind and in front of the camera have made a hugely promising first step into the world of feature films.
I look forward to seeing what they produce next.
