The Expanse: Gaugamela (2020)
Season 5, Episode 4

Adapting pretty darn fine
24 December 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Series five is going to be quite a turbulent one and so far it's going very strong. The teams divided and the powers are about to be inverted. Particularly I'm fond of how Mars is handled. Here though in this ep is when things really get stirred. For the most part it doesn't disappoint. I'm impressed with the portrayal of Inarus.

Ps - isn't it good to have something compelling to watch !

Stand the test of time, even if for the memes!

Oblivion might not be pretty any more, but oblivion sure does have a soft spot in my heart. I've not poured so many hours in any other rpg save maybe it's successor. Bizzare as it sounds , many of the games faults I've grown to regard as strengths. It has great content. Good and some even great quests. Superb expansions (especially the shivering isles) and plenty of mucking around to do. Probably it has more flaws than I admit , but even so I find I can't have a year where I don't at least hop on for a few hours of nostalgia.

Still brilliant even if it's simpler

The game has aged well and I love many things about it. It's only inferiority ever to me is it's less focused on historical accuracy and also the gameplay and tactical elements just don't come up well to the second game. But I've many a fond memory in both games.

Pathetic.

It is time for Disney and Hollywood to fall. Creatively bankrupt and to afraid to criticise evil.

It has great potential
29 December 2019
I'm a fan of the books and games. Reflecting on the show now that it's been my big desire for season two isn't just more focus in the story line but that they give more depth and detail to characters and dialogue. The show feels a little simple in comparison to the books and games and some moments carry less weight than they should. There is some genuinely poor casting and some strong as well. The soundtrack is solid or at least stands on its own feet and the fact it's talked about (Todd a coin) is lovely as its another path the show can expand on. Ultimately I loved this show but a seven is what I give as I also know it can be so so much better. Henry though as Geralt, you've nailed it my man!

Could've been a hell of a lot more but ...

About as close to decent as a halo series has rotten but still heavily lacking in many areas. It's a bit of fun , go in not expecting to much and you actually might be suprised.

No pain no gain
13 April 2019
Dark souls III is superb and refined from the ashes of its two epic games , Hell I'll admit it's less original and rehashes tests and flavours from the last two games but it still surprises it still tests and it gets it down pat so well. It looks stunning and really aintbfor the faint hearted. A masterpiece I'll never forget!

The king of rewarding games
11 December 2018
Dark souls in its third instalment smoothed out its mechanics beautifully and in many ways was all I ever wanted after the first and second game. It is perhaps the least innovative of the three in new areas and threats but ultimately it's my favourite as it feels like a culmination of the first two games best qualities in one delectable masterpiece.

Challenging yes but new comers please understand, few games feel so rewarding and subtly complex. Each foe is a new pattern. Most weapons have distinctions in sword play / art. This adds a connections to your chosen gear/weapons that few other games can weave.

Love it and always will!

Breathtaking and groundbreaking
11 December 2018
Has every thing that's missing from the average rpg. Depthed side quests. Rich characters. Beautiful teaming world which hasn't aged badly at all yet. Excellent score and sound. Above all... heart. A dying thing in an age of micro transactions and selling you the other half the game later. Witcher 3s expansions are also pristine and unforgettable. Please if you adore a adult hearty rpg, never ever look further than this masterpiece.

Better than most of the years rubbish

Not as good as it thinks it is but better than most of this season none the less. Dodgy acting but at least it's weird and at moments interesting.

Patience wearing thin
6 November 2018
The show has not been this consistently bad since poor Sylvester's first series (24) but even that is more enjoyable as it's not frequently bombarding you with political messages. I can't salavge anything from this, the monster of the week is almost worse than the rags and that's saying something. Whittaker can barely capture the doctor and feels like a female parody of previous ones rather than a new fresh take. Also this episode had an awful guest cast!
