Boys (2003)
A Directors Movie :-) !!!
Boys!!! It is agreed that it hoists the best in every scene. But when I finished seeing the movie I thought that there is still something to come. And some of the scenes are over imaginative, when considering the masses for whom the film is taken. And Of Course!!! there are copy from many Hollywood films, for example driving bike in opposite direction in the road(MATRIX), a disgusting scene including first boy with the prostitute(Forrest Gump) and the dance sequences which are copied mostly from TV music channels.
The sexual content of this movie may pioneer the way to most of the films yet to come. The song having the couple dancing in junked place with bottles and bats are a poor imagination and rotten graphics. Shankar-no more audiences like you old style graphics in songs.
AR Rahmans songs and the camera lifts the film. The actors don't do much coz they try to act natural.
On the whole its worth seeing it once for not seeing it again. Coz its a special movie!!! :-)
Boys is a movie of Chain of what the director thinks are good scenes
5/10
Spy Game (2001)
Intelliegence, confusion and tragedy!!!
Tony Scotts quick cut shorts and varying camera speeds are a Trademark of his movies. It suits nicely to stories like Spy Game!!! He tells the story in a fast manner but with more incidences which sometimes bores us.
I always felt more scenes like training Brad Pitt and recruiting him in Vietnam and Germany are just added to fill the frames of Tonys fast moving rolls:-) But the fantasy in getting ON last minute by Redford to save his ex-recruit is quite interesting. The subsequent actions add pace to the film and finally when Redford uses his life savings for everything, its too touching.
This story paints the inner conscience, the completeness of ones life and feelings of a man for another. And Tony handles this quite nicely. Worth seeing it.
My rating 7/10
The Polar Express (2004)
Expressive, Decorative and Dream work!!!
I am a fan of Zemeckis and have seen most of the films he made. One thing I like about him is, in every film he tries something new. Polar Express is no different!!! And the unique combination of Zemeckis and Sylvestri and Hanks takes us into a different world always.
Polar Express starts as a narrative work and the adventures of Tom Hanks is portrayed in a pleasant, funny and breath-taking manner!!! Hanks has played his character in a more thoughtful manner. Seeing the film makes us a child in some scenes and we can enjoy others around as becoming the same. Though I found the background music adding flow to the movie, in some scenes it seem to lag or lead the scenes. The songs are good. The CG is no doubt the most modern thing being used.
May be people with different taste may not like this film. But on the whole its worth seeing the movie.
My rating is 7/10.
Double Jeopardy (1999)
A good movie of revenge and content!!!
This is one satisfying movie which I saw in DVD recently. The plot seems to be interesting after the conviction of Ashley Judd (Libby Parsons) for murdering her husband and even more eager to watch when Bruce Greenwood(her husband) appears again in a scene slamming a phone down. The director handles the revenge of Ashley in a down to earth manner though some of the unnecessary scenes of adventures like drowning car in the pond or hitting a car with a truck could have been avoided. These may be put of to just to keep the audience unobstructed. Like I was wondering how Ashley could carry a gun in plane in one scene. On the whole it is worth seeing it, and I would rate it 8/10.
