A Casa das Sete Mulheres (2003)
Beautiful
This is a MUST SEE. It is very well written & the scenery was beautiful. There was beautiful acting. Beautiful stories. I think the title summarizes this whole comment.
Best performances by: Giovanna Antonelli, Camila Morgado, Daniela Escobar, Nivea Maria, Mariana Ximenes, Werner Schunemann, Tarciso Filho, Radrigo Faro & Thiago Lacerda.
One warning: When you watch this miniseries, bring tissues because I cried a lot through this. Rosario & Estevao's story especially. Their ending was so sad, you cannot do anything but cry.
All in all, A beautiful war story. Watch it.
Cabocla (2004)
Great Love Stories
I enjoyed watching this novella. It's filled with different love stories & likable characters. Best Performances by: Vanessa Giacomo, Maria Flor, Patricia Pillar, Carolina Kasting, Regiane Alves, Daniel De Oliveira, Malvino Salvador, Eriberto Leao, Tony Ramos, Mauro Mendonca & Danton Mello.
The Best couple in my opinion was Tina (Maria Flor) & Tome (Eriberto Leao). Tome was engaged to Tina's older sister, Rosa, but Rosa ran away to marry another man. Tome has never forgotten Rosa, even though Tina has repeatedly claimed her love for him. They finally get married & he seemingly has forgotten Rosa - until their "First Time" when he accidentally calls her Rosa. A month passes & the couple are living happily: he's never called Tina Rosa. Then one fateful day, Tome gets into a fight with another man, gets shot & dies in Tina's arms. Tina seems to have given up on life until she discovers she's pregnant with the only child she'll ever have with Tome. I have cried countless times with Tina.
This is definitely worth watching.
O Cravo e a Rosa (2000)
Excellent!
This is definitely worth watching. The on screen chemistry between Adriana Esteves & Eduardo Moscovis is very realistic. So is Leandra Leal & Angelo Antonio. The best performances are by: Adriana Esteves (Without a doubt), Leandra Leal (Very well done), Drica Moraes (Exellent as the villain with a humorous charm, Marcela), Eduardo Moscovis (Very funny... but not as funny as Adriana Esteves), Angelo Antonio (He made me feel so sad when he was on the streets begging for money) & Luis Melo (Well done as the man with a double life).
There were 2 performances that were well done in making me hate their characters: Maria Padilha as Dinorah (Dinorah would make me SO mad sometimes but since you're suppose to, thumbs up for Maria Padilha) & Vanessa Gerbelli as Lindinha who would do anything to have Petruchio for herself... I hated this character more then Marcela's but as i said, you're suppose to hate the character so another thumbs up for Vanessa Gerbelli.
The 10th Kingdom (2000)
Wonderful
I came across this while at my friend's house. We were bored & had nothing to do. Then my friend remembered a movie that might interest me & we started to watch it. I was not disappointed.
Everything from the acting to the special effects are worth watching. The best performances were from Dianne Wiest, John Larroquette, Scott Cohen & Kimberly Williams.
The only thing i did find annoying was the 3 trolls (ex- cluing Ed O'Neill's Character witch could be annoying at times but still not as bad as his kids). Even with this, this Series deserves a 10 out of 10.
If you ever get the chance to watch this, DO! It's worth it.
