I Kill Giants (2017)
8/10
Seriously underrated
28 March 2021
We all have giants in our lives that we fight. We don't always call them giants and some fights are harder than others.

This is not a Film in the Harry Potter vein and I think some of the poor reviews are from people who were expecting it to be so.

It is sad, it is beautiful, it has bullying and it has friendship. It is about struggling and growing up and coping with loss.

This is a great film.

Compelling

Chess is a wonderful vehicle for this series about loss, abuse, addiction, self-destruction, love, sex and redemption.

The acting is first rate, the sets evoke white America in the 60s. It addresses sexism and gender inequality issues.

The Russians are portrayed as humans first and Soviets second.

I had to discipline my watching to eke out the days of enjoyment.

This is a rare gem of a series.

Great production and scenery spoilt by dreadful script and poor acting

Very pretty.

Everyone is scripted to be an idiot.

Really childish.

Could have been really good,
