Incredible
2 October 2023
Deserves a standing ovation. Jellyfish and Lobster is an absolutely incredible short film that everyone should watch once. Watchinng this formed so many emotions out of me that aI wasn't sure what to feel. I found the film to be a perfect blend of comedy and tragedy while being really beautiful. The film is edited perfectly and 20 minutes is the perfect length.

The cinematography, editing and sound really sells the film for me, along with the wonderful performances of the two leads, young and old. Well done Yasmin, proud of you.

A solid reconstruction.
21 September 2023
The Faceless Ones unexpectedly (for me at least) have a widely different animation style to The Macra Terror and I'm unfortunately not a big fan of the change.. However the audio quality and sound mixing is amazing as it should be. I am growing on Patrick Troughton even if he's animated here.

Regardless, I feel that the story works perfectly for late 1960s Doctor Who and gives some genuinely interesting and scary monsters and setting. Gatwick Airport and child kidnapping is sure to scare younger viewers.

My only major issue with this serial is that the story is stretched out over six episodes. It just sometimes feels like it should have been shorter.

A great reconstruction
20 September 2023
It may be my first introduction to animated Doctor Who reconstructions but The Macra Terror is a really campy and fun serial. It's also very creepy, upsetting and disconcerting story which makes viewing this serial in black and white even better.

The animation seems incredibly perfect and flawless, there's a nice charm to it. The remastered audio recordings are absolutely flawless considering they were recorded in the late 1960s.

The story is a tad silly for the second doctor's era but it does work well enough. A four parter is also the perfect length of a Doctor Who serial so I have no complaints.

Comparing the Macra to their original design... it's a good improvement.

Invincible returns!
24 July 2023
Atom Eve is a great prequel episode to season one.

I loved this special episode of Invincible. It's been too long since the first season so while some part of me thinks it's great because the shows back it's actually genuinely really good.. It's a great episode and character development even is it is incredibly depressing and dark. Atom Eve is a interesting character and a fan favourite so it's nice to see her fleshed out even more and adapted well from the Graphic Novel. As usual with season one the animation style is completely flawless and it looks much like the graphic novel. I don't think the show would be as good as it is if it was a live action adaptation.
