Duga mracna noc (2005)
Excellent show!
This show is amazing, everything is great, the acting, the directing and the script... Probably the best Croatian TV-show ever! Goran and Antun Vrdoljak did a great job, and all of the actors were marvelous! The ending was very well done, although it was a little bit sad, and all 13 episodes were absolutely amazing. I was kinda disappointed with the cameras because they looked a little cheap, but besides that I cannot believe how good this series was. I'm definitely a Goran fan now! And Antun Vrdoljak, you rule! In my opinion you're the best Croatian director and one of the best directors ever! You did a pretty good job, bravo! Anyway,do not miss the best Croatian series ever! See it!
I'll Always Know What You Did Last Summer (2006)
Although unnecessary, excellent for a direct-to-video release
Since "I Know What You Did Last Summer" came, I became a fan instantly. Not a year goes by, and "I Still Know..." was released. Unfortunately, it wasn't very good and fans including myself were really disappointed. But two years ago I found out that "I'll Always Know...", the third chapter in the trilogy, is going to be released without the original cast. You can assume I was very disappointed and that I had very low expectations since it was a direct-to video release movie... But soon something extraordinary happened. My friend bought my for my birthday "I'll Always Know..."! I was really satisfied and happy although I still had the feeling that it was gonna suck. And in my shock, not only that this movie didn't suck, but also that it was as good as the first one, and of course, way better than the second one! I was really shocked, but in a good way cause I knew the trilogy is finally complete.
The movie has everything a good slasher horror movie should have: 1) Good acting, especially in Brooke Nevin and Torrey DeVitto's case. 2) Excellent ending, very similar to the original ending. 3) Good directing. 4) And finally, an excellent twist around the fisherman's identity.
Anyway, if you were really disappointed after you saw "I Still Know", saw this flick cause you won't regret it! Recommended!
King Kong (2005)
One word-BRILLIANT
The movie is set in New York, 1933. We're introduced to Ann Darrow, an actress who gets redounded after her play is canceled.
Carl Denham, a movie director, also gets redounded because he didn't finish his movie. So Carl decides to run away with his crew to an unexplored island, an island that exists only in myth's with a rent boat. But after the lead actress in his movie doesn't show up at the set, Carl has 24 hours to find a new lead actress, and if he doesn't, his career will be over.
After Ann and Karl accidentally meet each other on the street, Karl offers her the role, and after a lot of thinking, Ann accepts. With the ship Carl rent, they begin a voyage to the island. Later we're introduced to a screenwriter, Jack Driscoll who accidentally stays on the boat. After she is introduced to Jack, Ann and Jack fall in love. But after arriving on the island, Ann is kidnapped by some strange civilization that lives there for thousand of years. She is sacrificed to the 8th wonder of the world, the big ape, which is later called Kong. But Kong gets hypnotized by Ann's beauty, so he doesn't kill her, and starts taking care of her. But Kong isn't the only big creature on the island...There are also Tyrannosaurous and big spiders that aren't so harmless... After Jack and Carl save Ann, they also trap Kong and send him to New York...
Although I personally haven't seen the old King Kong movies with Fay Dunaway and Jessica Lange, Naomi Watts did a great job as Ann Darrow. Not only she is beautiful and talented, she was so good that the whole cinema started crying when started doing that. Not to mention Adrien Brody, who is good as always, and Jack Black, who was, in my opinion, the biggest surprise in the movie. The first time I heard he was cast as Carl Denham, I was surprised because I couldn't imagine Jack in that role, but now I know he did a great job. And the last, but not the least, Peter Jackson, who keeps getting better and better every time he does a new picture. The script was excellent, the cast was even better(especially Naomi Watts)and the visual effect were unbelievable...This is the biggest surprise of all the movies that were released in 2005... 9.9/10
Tru Calling (2003)
FANTASTIC, MARVELOUS, Genius, one word- Tru Calling
... I have to admit I'm very surprised. This show turned to be one of the most fabulous shows ever! I don't know why, but I think this show has to be continued. The 'al mighty' FOX thinks they can do what ever they want. Well, you're wrong. You're very, very, very wrong. You think you can cancel the show that has 5.00 million viewers every episode? If you do, then, dear FOX, you have a problem.
A BIG, BIG problem. The only think that was excellent in your studio was firing that crazy bitch. Let's give them an applause! Bravo, bravo!!! Even if you cancel this show, we will show you the true power of 'unharmoable viewers! You don't know what you started FOX! You started a WAR. And you will pay! Anyway, Tru Calling was excellent and I'm planing to keep it that way in my mind.
Duga mracna noc (2004)
Great plot, OK actors, only that I expected more...
Great director. Antun Vrdoljak showed to us that not only he can make a spectacular, also that he can present the true horror in Croatia. Good plot, good actors (G.Visnjic and G.Navojec were great!) But I wanted something else. I don't know what, but I expected more(I don't say the film wasn't bad, in fact, it was excellent), but I just thought it will show something else. Because the story is going to fast, you can't know what will happen in the next moment, and things are happening in every moment. But I liked the film, enjoyed the series, loved the plot, the actors, the director.... Looking it in a perspective way, this film was a true story about the horrible things that happened in Croatia). So, if you're interested in watching this film, I truly recommended it!
