She-Hulk: Attorney at Law (2022)
It's ok
I found moments of this entertaining while others were a bit try-hard. I don't subscribe to the 'hate everything after endgame' mentality of the teenagers that seemingly love getting angry about female super heroes. To be honest I don't think of this as an entry in the MCU and most likely won't watch again but the people crying in their rooms leaving one star reviews need to take stock of their lives if they are getting this fired up about a tv show.
The episodes are short enough that the show is good to kill time. They've tried to do something different which is commendable since a lot of Marvel stuff is pretty samey and formulaic (see Falcon and Winter Soldier). I would advise approaching this as a stand alone show and not expecting an award winning show. Let's face it, it's not like Marvel movies are Oscar material anyway.
Pieces of Her (2022)
Mixed
At times intense and exciting but far too long. You will spend half of the series kind of confused and there is no real conclusion or payoff to the story. Episode 8 dragged on and on and served no other purpose than to give you a fairly obvious final twist and try to set up a second series. By no means the worst show but god does it drag on.
Inventing Anna (2022)
Not terrible
Shoehorned in political comments felt out of place and only Kacy and Todd were remotely likeable characters. The others are all incredibly irritating. Was still pretty entertaining though.
Ricky Gervais: Humanity (2018)
Standard Gervais show
I found it funny. If you like Gervais you will like this. A lot of people moan he hasn't 'evolved' but I'm not really sure what they want. His stand up is what it has always been and if it's not to your taste there are plenty of other options.
That being said I can usually see the underlying meaning to his jokes but there were a few moments in this show where things are just being said for shock value.
Overall it was pretty good but maybe give it a miss if you are of a sensitive disposition.
Help (2021)
What was that last act?
Would have given this a 9 if not for the ridiculous last act. What were they thinking? Was very powerful and moving up to then.
Behind Her Eyes (2021)
Interesting concept. Disappointing ending.
First four episodes were 'same old'. Then the astral stuff came out of nowhere. Unfortunately my wife and I immediately sussed out the twist when this happened.
I know there are a lot of shows that like to end on a bleak note but is anyone really satisfied that the child is the main loser of this story and the evil character is the winner?
The Fall (2013)
Slow going
They really drag this story out. No mystery whatsoever since you know who the killer is after the first 5 minutes. There do seem to be a lot of people who like this so don't let me discourage you but for me there was nothing thrilling about this thriller.
Tom Segura: Completely Normal (2014)
Take 10-12 Benadryl and enjoy!
I have no neuropathy issues at all and I absolutely loved this. Tom Sugar is the water champ and Burnt Krishna is fat.
Brendan Schaub: You'd Be Surprised (2019)
Rogan made him quit fighting for this?
I will preface by saying i was a fan of his but over time have really grown to dislike him and his podcasts, especially after listening to the likes of Your Mom's House and Congratulations.
Even so I wanted to give him a chance as I was an avid listener during his rise.
This is woeful. It is so full of forced premises and lazy stereotyping. I managed to force myself to finish it which actually felt like quite the achievement come to finish.
Still, I gave him the review he deserved so now I want my 50% off CBD voucher,
