Uplifting Show
6 January 2024
I find this a bit confusing. I live in the US and Masterpiece just started running this series but the main character is Francesco who apparently appears in this series down the road. The plot is that his wife believes and he does to that he is responsible for the death of his son who was playing with his gun. I'm not even sure this is the same series but most of the characters are the same. I wonder why Masterpiece didn't start the series at the beginning. Anyway, great show with scenery to die for. Good plot, good cast - between the scenery and the messages I come away feeling good. Hope someone else can lend info as to the confusion.

Good binge watching
6 January 2024
This is a cute, easy to watch show. I'm now on Season 2 which doesn't seem to have the same punch as the first season. Loved Claudio in first season even if he does hit on his students. Second season he turns nasty and abusive. A lot of characters at work here with a lot of interaction. Gets confusing at times - seems they are trying to fill time. It is light viewing, at times unbelievable. Don't know if i'll make it to Seaosn 3 if there is one. Giseleda Volodi fulfills her role well as Wally. For being a doctor and having gone through rigorous training the main character os extremely naive - like a high schooler. Think I may wrap this up at end of Season.

Easy viewing

Warning: Spoilers
I am now to Season 6 in this series. At first it was cute, clever, and fun to watch -a binge worthy Frence production. Odd that a police deparment would allow a father, daughter and grandson to all be employed in one setting but...Now it apppears on life support. The son (in police training in same department) and daughter both perform illegal actions yet get away with it. That was pretty much the end for me. The character who plays Celestin is annoying to say the least. The settings are interesting, good plots but appears time to end this long running series. That said, easy watching and a good show to binge.

The Drama is Comical
28 October 2023
I was so set to enjoy this show on Acorn - love the locale and seemed like a good plot. So disappointed. The overdone drama, goes from one crisis to the next in a matter of seconds - tiresome to the point of becoming comical. The acting is mediocre. Can't believe this was given a Season 2.

I managed to get through First Season, 3 episodes and just couldn't manage the rest. All Creatures Great and Small it ain't. There are too many crisis going at one time so hard to keep track of exactly what is happening.

Overall this reminds me of a cheesy soap opera and that believe it not, is a stretch. Acorn usually has great shows but this was not one of them.

Second season washes out
16 August 2023
I enjoyed the first season of a wealthy (of course) family who seemed a bit unreal in 2023 but it was light fun and enjoyable. The acting leaves a lot to be desired. I started Season 2 and tuned out - seemed to be grasping at straws. Had a "Glee" type feel to it. The whole situation between the brothers and the star became drawn out and boring. Honestly felt the whole thing was missing "a spark." I heard it was renewed for Season 3 and can't imagine the content for that. There just is no depth at all to the story line or the characters. Guess it might be a good show for kids to watch as its not loaded with sex and violence.

LOVED IT UNTIL SEASON 6
7 May 2023
Agree with Jumped the Shark - great series until Season 6 when everyone become gay, fluid, whatever. Too much of that. Candice also seems to lose her mind - she has become nutty, self centered and unlikeable. The episode where they see themselves as each other was beyond the pale. Were it not for Antoine I would be gone. Acorn is running a lot of shows with "gay/trans" stuff right now and while I have no objection to that, it is being overdone and a turnoff. Good shows like Brokenwood Mysteries, Midsomer, are losing their appeal fast due to this. Since I pay for Acron I just may be finished with Candice after Season 6. Well I hung in there and it's now Season 8 on Acorn which I just finished watching. Same old, same old but I'm still here. I'm tired of all the deep, dirty, dark polic shows and this is a nice break.

Get rid of Ludo
13 January 2022
This series was enjoyable utnil the character Ludo came on board. What a loser, irritating and annoying. Aside from that character I enjoy the show with great scenery, good mysteries and very little violence. MHz is great for foreign programming which far surpasses anything in the US excepet Yellowstone.

Beyond Outstanding Until "The Son" appears
18 August 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The first five seasons were stupendous then boredom set in as if they had run out of vulgar scenarios. When his "son" appeared in season six that killed it for me but fast forwarded through to see final episodes. Adding the son was a huge mistake - kid was fat, nasty, spoiled and arrogant. Made no contribution to the story line at all...like they were reaching to keep things going. Disappointed in the final episode which was loaded with smaltz - espected a dazzing finale and was disappointed. Overall though a great watch, great acting and fun...until season six.

Great plot
8 October 2020
Rachelle Lefevre is horrible in this series. The acting is some of the worst I've ever seen. It was so poor, I almost quit watching. Talke about wooden. Fortunately the plot was great and worth hanging in until the end.

Loved First Season, bowed out Season 2
16 July 2020
This is a great show with well developed characters and a good plot. Love Joe who was also great in 800 Words. So looked forward to Season 2 however a great disappointment. Seems they were reaching; some plots a bit unbelievable like Arianna falling for Joe Jr. Fast forwarded through to the end but was not surprised when it was renewed for season 3.

Outstanding cast
3 March 2020
Lesley Manville deserves an Oscar for her performance. The acting of all cast is outstanding some more so than others. Good plot. I can't believe this show hasn't garndered the attention of critics and viewers, perhaps becamse it's not available on the more popular streaming services like Netflix?
