The Suite Life on Deck (2008)
Annoying
I don't want to hurt anybody's feelings but I find this show to be one of the most irritating thing ever to make it into my den. My tween daughter loves it but I can not figure out why. The writing is so horrible I wouldn't be surprised to learn a barrel is filled with phrases and punchlines then a chimp randomly selects and assembles the plot. The character of Tipton makes Lovie Howell look like Mother Theresa, just so over the top annoying I don't understand how she alone doesn't kill the ratings. The other characters are shallow and mainly seem to rely on being cute more than likable. I can't say about the actor's talents based on what they have to work with. Actually they must be good to sell this sort of poor material. Overall it is just harmless fun for middle school kids but anybody over 15 watching this stuff because they like it not because they live with a tween should seek help.
The Fog (2005)
Fits the Genre
Nothing more or less than what one expects when watching this type of flick. Whether it's a ghost ship, or a kid in a lake, some evil is trying to exact revenge on a bunch of dimwits who just don't get it. They always stay and most of them die except the ones we are supposed to care about because they seemed innocent or bared a breast. Unfortunately in this one there weren't any boobies other than the townsfolk. The effects weren't all that bad just cheesy in some scenes. The acting was average TV, maybe lifetime quality. It is OK for a DVD rental if you like this type of plot. Hardly worth seeing at theater prices. Ten years old and younger children may be frightened. Good stuff for MST 3000 type of viewing where a bunch of people make sarcastic comments while watching a B movie.
