Taximetristi (2023)
Absolute waste of time and electricity
Why is the movie so high rated? Just because it shows really well our reality that most of viewers live in?
- "Funny"
- "Made me cry"
- Lack of a story
- Lack of character development
- "It is extremely realistic"
Nunti, botezuri, inmormantari (2022)
A good comedy with lots of funny details
(Seen on Netflix, in my house with another person)
Plot (spoiler free):
Our protagonist, Cosmin Berinde (Serban Pavlu) bought a land at country side, planning to invest into building houses on it, expecting a profit of 1 million euro. He did not know about the neighboring club that organizes loud events, such as weddings and christenings. After asking nicely to turn the music down, Cosmin was rejected and started a music "war" to destroy the club's business. This is the intro of the movie... the rest is up to you to watch what happens.
Comedy:
The whole movie is intended to be a comedy. Types present in this movie: situation comedy (a lot), verbal comedy (a lot), name comedy (I'll describe below) and others.
Name comedy comes from a few characters:
- Mr. Barbat (in Romanian, "barbat" = "man") - it produces confusion such as:
♦ "A song dedication to the manliest man alive ... To Mr. Barbat!" (Mr. Man)
- the priest named Mantuiala. In Romanian, "a mantui" = "to save" (in a religious way), but "de mantuiala" = "botched". From his name, we understand the pseudo work that the priest does.
Unfortunately, some verbal comedy has sense only in Romanian.
The songs chosen by Cosmin for his "war" has lots of meanings in Romanian culture. Such as (very minor spoilers):
- The first artist he chose is Jean de la Craiova (Jean from Craiova, a city). This artist discography is mainly made from "manele", a song genre that is mostly played at parties, but often considered a bad taste in music by high standards people.
- The second band he chose is Parazitii (Parasites), a rap band. It is well known here, as they often use curse words in their songs. Their music is not well heard in this movie (to don't make it a 15+ film), but Romanians know them well enough to know what they are singing about.
Overall, it is a very good comedy with good actors. Good enough to watch in a weekend to sit back and relax. Even better if you have a person next to you to discuss the little details that they use along the movie.
The 100: Blood Giant (2020)
All 1/10 reviewers don't have a child to understand what happened in the end
Clarke changed in season 6 when she basically adopted Madi.
"I would burn down the world for you," he whispered fiercely. "Your world or my own. I would rip down the entire city with my bare hands without a second thought. I don't need to taste anything else, I don't need a comparison." - Delilah S. Dawson, Wicked as They Come
Love for your own child, adopted or not, is immeasurable. It is much higher than love for friends or people you consider as 'family'. Madi was the world for Clarke and she would be sacrificed herself for the kid, let alone a good friend. They considered Bellamy as a stranger anyways after he became so religious and not gonna condemn them for it. Bellamy betrayed them telling Cadogan about the Flame, he was not the same person anymore.
Arcane: League of Legends: The Base Violence Necessary for Change (2021)
Minor spoilers about emotions felt in this episode
40 minutes of masterpiece. Every minute creates so much emotion. When you think you've had enough, here comes the end where you just can't believe what you see.
If you don't cry at the end, you are not a human being.
Don't Look Up (2021)
Dead boring
Checked it up because there are many known actors and trailer was quite fun. First 10 minutes were ok, then turned into an abyssal bore kingdom. Nothing interesting happens. Same idea as in the first 20 minutes of the movie were repeated for an entire hour. Stopped watching at 1 hour mark.
Gave 2 stars instead of one, was a good nap material after lunch.
Rings (2017)
They just forgot the story from the first two movies
The Ring Two: Rachel literally goes in Samara's dimension and seals the well so she can't ever escape again.
Rings: Neah, we just forgot this, let samara exit the well as she pleases.
The Ring Two: Samara's biological mom is .. (i don't recall the name) who ended up in an asylum for mad people.
Rings: Neah fam, the woman in the other film was just an adoptive mother.
And other many flaws in the logic of events.
This would have been a 3/10, but I like Leonard Hofstadter.
