Jeepers Creepers 2 (2003)
Enjoyable horror
Jeepers Creepers 2 is the second Jeepers Creepers movie that was released in 2003. The movie is a horror that has a school bus of high school kids which are stranded, as the bus they are travelling on is unable to move due to weapons that are made from body parts have busted the tyres preventing them from continuing their journey. Whilst stranded and waiting for help the teens on the bus become prey to a blood thirsty, hungry winged creature.
The movie pretty much goes straight into the action which is a positive, so many horror films seem to forget that it's the horror many fans want to see and don't want to be going too deep into other things that seem to be irrelevant to the story.
There is somewhat of a comical side to it especially with how the creeper interacts with the high school teens on the school bus. The transition from the first movie to the other is done really smoothly, carrying on during the same harvesting time for the creeper, but taking place on the very last harvesting day (the 23rd day). Justin Long who starred in the first movie makes appearances throughout the movie helping build the smooth transition from the first Jeepers Creepers to the second.
Overall, the movie seems in some ways to be one of the typical kind of high school teen horror movies but does show some originality with the story behind the horror and actual creature itself.

Mirrors (2008)
Interesting story
Mirrors is a horror movie that was released in 2008, directed by Alexandre Aja. The movie is about Ben (Kiefer Sutherland), A suspended police detective lands himself a job as a night security guard at a shut down department store that previously suffered a massive fire, but the department store has more to it than he knows, something much darker than he could ever think of. Whilst trying to prove himself to his wife after previous problems with alcohol, the strain from the constant strange goings on with the mirrors continues to set even more obstacles in his way of becoming a better father and a better husband. With his past experience with alcohol problems, Ben has to do everything he can to prove to his wife that he is not crazy and that something is not right with the mirrors.
Mirrors is rather creepy and somewhat disturbing as the characters own mirror reflection is what causes the character to murder themselves. As much as they try to resist and prevent it they are unable to prevent their reflection causing the killing to proceed.
The movies graphics has a massive attention to detail, especially with the death scenes being brutally graphic. For example, the ripping open of the mouth that Ben's sisters mirror image causes her to do is so graphic it may be disturbing to some viewers. I believe that in a horror movie, putting a great amount of attention into the detail of how graphic the gory scenes are is essential. So it definitely can scare some people and that is what you need from a horror movie.
Kiefer Sutherland (Jack Bauer, 24), is the perfect lead role making you feel for his character. With Ben going through so much in his past and throughout the movie, you start to feel sorry for Ben leaving you eagerly rooting for him wanting the others to believe him. Overall, this contains everything a horror movie should have, blood, gore and brutalness with a hooking storyline. It didn't get much of a positive response from critics and might not be the best movie in this genre but in it's own right is an acceptable fast, paced horror.

Shaun of the Dead (2004)
Classic zomcom that's a definite must see.
Shaun of the Dead was released in 2004, directed by my favourite director Edgar Wright. Simon Pegg and Nick Frost lead the cast in this zomcom movie based on Shaun (Simon Pegg) a man in his late 20's trying to prove himself and regain his girlfriend and family's trust in him by leading them in a survival of a zombie apocalypse. The music used throughout the movie is really fitting, completely setting in with the movie. This is a particular thing that I always pick up on with Edgar Wrights movies, the music is always perfectly suited and to me that's somewhat important as you don't want to watch a movie with a random misplaced track playing, even that minor detail can ruin the feel of a movie for someone. There is a great attention to detail, for example; Shaun's T-shirt gradually becomes more bloodied throughout the movie, people who are turning into the zombies starts to look visually weaker as the process of the deadly virus starts to kick in and plenty more but I don't want to go into the movie too far and spoil it too much. The story flowed smoothly but was choppy in the way some scenes were edited to be, not in a bad way at all. It's actually a way in which I personally like and it's the approach in which Edgar Wright seems to take with the Blood and Ice Cream Trilogy films which consists of Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz and The World's End. Overall, Shaun of the Dead is an amazing zomcom with a mixture of hilarious comedy that sets in incredibly well with the horror of the zombies and the sadness of the loss of people close to them. This movie has became a classic and rightly so. If you are wondering whether to watch this or not, I encourage you to as it is an all time definite must watch.
House Hunting (2012)
Unique and original horror movie,
House hunting is one of the most unique and best horror movies that I have ever seen. This movie is like no other horror movie I have seen before, taking on a bizarre chain of events it is completely original. The best way to watch this movie is to know nothing about the story in it, you should go into it fresh minded and you will be pleasantly surprised. There are small similarities of The Shining, Evil Dead and The Cabin In The Woods. The only thing that I would fault about this movie is the lack of confusion and natural reaction somebody would have if faced with the situation that the characters did in the movie. This is a must see movies and will leave any horror fan more than satisfied.
