Spider-Man 3 (2007)
Common spidey, EMO? Worse than Matrix 3 if that helps.
I went to IMDb.com before watching this movie and saw some good reviews for the movie, which got me excited because I was going to wait in line 3 hours to see the cartoon I watched growing up as a kid. I also read a few bad reviews stating the dialogue was weak and the acting was poor, but I did not want to believe such statements. Common, it's Spiderman 3! I'm sorry to say this, but Spiderman 3 was hyped up in the ads and ended up being a sore loser.
Okay, so I sit down, and the movie starts. The dialogue was weak right from the beginning of the movie, but hey, I told myself hang on in there, the movie will get better right? The dialogue, acting, and storyline were all over the place without any real feeling or meaning. Right when the action was getting good, the film makers would ruin the scene with garbage. As in garbage, I mean distasteful humor, bad acting, a bad script, and just bad scenes! They made Tobey Maguire into a fool with the scenes they put him in. The only good in the movie was from a few good actions scenes, but hey, that's all you'll get for 10 dollars.
There was no connection between scene to scene as the storyline was scattered with so many different villains. To make matters worse, Peter Parker himself was scattered in his personality as well, is he a nerd, superhero, arrogant superhero, cheater, villain, friend, selfish man, or how about EMO. Must I say more about EMO? You'll know what I mean...
Common, it's Spiderman 3!

Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai (1999)
The movie tried hard to leave pearls of wisdom but left only sand
I did not have high expectations for this movie, but I did have some, which went unfulfilled by the end. The writers try to portray Ghost Dog as a modern day Samurai who is wise, intelligent, and honorable but the way they do it is laughable. Throughout the entire movie, Forest Whitaker's rendition of a Samurai is way overdone, and it's apparent he's trying too hard. For one thing, the way he holsters his gun is hilarious. Also, the mafia in the movie is a joke from their acting to their role in the storyline. My other big gripe with the movie is the dumbing down of the storyline with flashbacks which try and add meaning to the movie, and filler scenes which try and add drama kind of like a Dragon Ball Z cartoon. Overall, I give the movie some credit for trying to create a modern day Samurai, but it falls way short of anything special. Check out Zatochi, The Blind Swordsman for an interesting Samurai film.
Perfect Stranger (2007)
Just another twist movie with an uncreative storyline
I watched Perfect Stranger at a preview at my local theater this past weekend, and next to the scantily clad Halle Berry, there was no reason to go watch this movie. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with movies with twists, but as long as they're done with thought, taste, and creativity. The problem in this movie is writers have all the freedom in the world to guide a viewer's mind and place where the twists lie. It is too easy for writers to trick the audience, and to some audience members, the simple trick in itself is good enough to make the movie "great." Well, this doesn't cut it for me. I want a movie that connects, makes me think, has me connect with a character, or even teaches me something. Perfect Stranger lacked meaning, taste, and creativity and is just another one of those "movies with a twist." FYI: The movie was a long advertisement with way too much product placement. Even if the movie does bomb, the movie industry would have made up for the loss with the amount of advertising they put in the movie.
Black Dahlia (2006)
If I could choose a rating lower than 1, then I would.
I accidentally rented this movie from Blockboster thinking this was "The Black Dahlia" instead of "Ulli Lommel's Black Dahlia." 1. How can such a film get released on DVD and end up in Blockbuster stores? 2. There was no character development whatsoever. 3. Was there a storyline? 4. The acting was just as bad as the storyline. 5. The camera work was just plain laughable. 6. They tried to make horror out of grotesque imaging, which did not do it for me.
After watching the movie after 20 minutes or so, I just could not take it any more. The filler and fluff that they tried to put in the movie to create the "scary," more like laughable, mood was a waste of time.
