Hamilton (2020)
I LOVE that it wasn't a motion picture production
Everything was amazing. I love that this is simply a high quality filming of the on stage production. I fear so much would be lost in production if made into a motion picture. A good example of this would be The Greatest Showman.
Indebted (2020)
Is the button for the laugh track stuck??
The concept is realistic -- adult children having to care for their financially irresponsible parents. This is a relatable situation that could be the basis of a great sitcom. Unfortunately, the script just isn't funny. It feels like it was written by a middle school student. They try to make up for the lack of jokes by over-use of the laugh track. Playing the laugh track after every sentence doesn't make it funny. It's just annoying. Lastly, I expected better acting from such seasoned veteran actors. Their performances could easily be outshined by my small-town community theater. So sad to see a good concept shot to hell by poor execution.
Bosch: The Wisdom of the Desert (2019)
Inconsistency
Tom invites Maddie to a party with his parents and even comments about how many family members at the party are lawyers. However, in episode 3, he and Maddie stay out all night to see the grunion run. Maddie tells Harry how Tom has never seen anything like it because he is from Ohio. I have loved this series dearly, but this season and it's inconsistencies are disappointing.
Bosch: Two Kinds of Truth (2019)
Poor, poor writing/storyline strategy
I have LOVED this series up until this point. Why oh why would it suddenly be revealed in the fifth season that Edgar is Haitian and suddenly speaks French? One would think if English was his second language, it would have come up in the first four years. Poor, poor writing.
