Godzilla vs. Kong (2021)
As expected
After 60 years, the two Titans of the monster genre are having a Rematch, so how does it go?
First to answer the biggest question. Is it like BvS?
Well, yes and no. There is a definite winner
They are great. The makers of the movie have listened to criticism from Godzilla and KOTM and have not tried to hide the scenes in storm or dust. They also don't frequently cut from the fight scenes to human drama,
The fight goes as expected with Godzilla using his brute strength and atomic breath with Kong resorting to his agility and using surrounding objects as tools. It was well choreographed
There is no human drama compared to the previous movies. Humans can be divided into three teams. Team Godzilla, Team Kong and the villains. There isn't a single likeable character.
The Godzilla team is annoying as usual
The Kong Team is not annoying nor likeable. They try to develop a bond between the little girl and kong but it is clichéd and didn't work for me
The villains are instantly forgettable and barely get screentime.
The score is a big step down from KOTM and Skull Island. It is generic and I have already forgotten it
There is a definite winner. The fights scenes are good and that's all a kaiju fan cares about. But the scores should have been better and also I wish the Humans especially on the Kong side better
The Lion King (2019)
Animal planet documentary with Lion king soundtrack
It is an animal planet documentary with Lion king soundtrack. The animals show zero emotions because they are too realistic. You cannot even differentiate Lions unless they are talking. This movie is beautiful, technical masterpiece but souless. I was bored after first 5 min. However the movie does the iconic death really well and make it emotional for some reason while slipping back into boredom afterwards.
I would recommend Toy Story 4. or just rewatch animated Lion King in home. Or Life of Pi where the realistic tiger actually show emotions and is a great movie.
Captain Marvel (2019)
Great Cast, Amateur directing
Captain Marvel is a big deal. The interconnected nature of the MCU makes essentially every movie necessary viewing, but there's a lot going for Captain Marvel that sets it above the rest in terms of interest. For one, it's the first ever female-led movie in the MCU. Second, characters inhibiting the MCU such as Nick Fury, Phil Coulson and Ronan The Accuser would be making appearances. Third of all, it's the final MCU film before Endgame. And last, but not least, Captain Marvel is being poised by many as the next flagship character of the of the MCU and leader of the Avengers, and Kevin Fiege has made it clear on several occasions that Carol would play a significant role in Endgame.
Going into Captain Marvel, the most important thing for me was that they got the character right. Granted, I would love a great movie, but so long as they made me care for and love spending time with Carol, I would be satisfied. The rest would just be icing on the cake. With that in mind: did they succeed in making me care about Carol? Is Captain Marvel a great film? Is it a bad one? Did they manage to create yet another compelling origin story 21 movies in?
Thankfully, Marvel succeeded in crafting yet another solid protagonist in Carol Danvers. I don't know how they make it look so effortless, but from the moment Carol appeared on screen, I was drawn to her. I was drawn to Brie Larson's charisma, I was drawn to her determination, which is often her strength, but oftentimes a crutch, and most importantly, I wanted to spend more time in her. The film is centered a lot on Carol not being entirely sure who she is, and gradually uncovering more about her origin and putting together the pieces of the puzzle. For that type of story to work, we needed to be invested in this character. We needed to be interested in her origins. And I'm confident to say that Marvel succeeded in flying colours, and it results in a story-arc that feels personal and adds a layer of mystery that isn't commonplace in the MCU. Carol's arc in this movie, and how she grows in terms of demeanour and motivation, is in my opinion, amongst the most powerful in the MCU.
There are a couple of twists and reveals throughout the movie, and each twist feels in service to the plot and characters as opposed to cheap thrills. Because the nature of these twists are often in relation to Carol's origins, we get to experience the surprises with her, creating a beautiful display of empathy from the audience to the protagonist. Whereas thrusting audiences into a movie with a protagonist who has no idea who they are could've been alienating, it only brings us closer to her.
In addition, this movie is elevated by a strong supporting cast. I mentioned that a big selling point of this movie was seeing Samuel L. Jackson as a younger Fury, and Jackson delivers in every step of the way. It would've been so easy for him to step into the role once again, play the same ole' character we all know and love, and call it a day, but instead, he managed to create a version of Nick Fury that is true to the spirit of the one we've grown to love, but instil him with mannerisms and traits that create a three-dimensional portrait of a Fury who is much younger and a lot more idealistic. Everyone from Jude Law's Yon-Rogg, to Ben Mendelsohn's Talos, and Lashana Lynch's Maria, gave solid performances, but above all, what made these characters and actors stand-out, is how each played a significant role in enriching the world and characters with depth. I mentioned the focal point of the movie is Carol's growth, and it's her relationship with each individual character that defines her growth throughout the narrative.
With all there is to praise in Captain Marvel, I also had a lot of issues with this movie. I'm still unsure Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck were the best choices to direct this movie, as a lot of the film's issues stem from their lacklustre direction. To put it simply, the most interesting parts of the film are treated with equal level of importance as the less significant parts of the movie, resulting in a film that feels monotonous, and is lacking from the spectacle and wonderment deserving of such a movie.
The final act of the movie is disappointing. There's a surprising absence of memorable action sequences throughout a majority of the movie, and just I was waiting for the final act to deliver, it stops abruptly. It's within the final act of the movie where two moments take place that explain the origin of two things in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and both of them were unsatisfying answers to questions that no one asked. If you're still not sure what I mean, think along the lines of the scene in Solo: A Star Wars Story which gave us the origin of Han Solo's name, even though it ended up being utterly cheesy, and most of us would've been happy to never find out how he got his name.
Last of all, if you go in expecting to get a lot of Ronan The Accuser and Phil Coulson, you will be left disappointed. I didn't care much for Ronan going in, but I was excited to see Coulson, and I was surprised just how little we got of him. I'm not exaggerating when I say he probably had 5 minutes of screentime total, and I can barely remember anything he said. I mentioned that I loved Carol's character, but Brie Larson surprisingly struggled during some emotional moments, which didn't take away from the character in any significant way, but did pull me out of the movie at times.
The MCU has delivered movies that I believe belong in the upper echelon of the genre. Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War, among others, stand out as some of my favourite superhero movies ever made. Even if you don't love all of these movies with the same enthusiasm that I do, it's hard to argue against the consistency the MCU has delivered on in over a decade. Captain Marvel is yet another testament to the MCU's ability to continue delivering on satisfying movie going experiences, but it is not a testament to their ability to deliver great films. It shows that they can take a cat called Goose and make them a standout character, but we already know Marvel can do that. After all, they turned a cloak into a standout character in Doctor Strange. But after the shock and significance of the dusting in Infinity War, you'd hope for a little more.
It's missing the sense of importance, scale and climax that results in movies like Infinity War or The Winter Soldier. A movie about Captain Marvel, who is supposed to be the most powerful MCU hero and who will play a significant role in Avengers: Endgame, should be as exciting as those movies, but instead, it only feels a little more significant than Ant-Man and The Wasp, but without the commitment to light hearted fun of that movie. It's a solid movie elevated by a charismatic lead, a strong central character arc, and a great supporting cast, but it won't blow you away. Not every movie needs to, but if any movie felt like should've, it was this one. And it didn't. I opened up this review by saying that Captain Marvel is a big deal, and I'll end it by saying it didn't feel like one. It is a good one, though.
Score: 7/10
The Death of Superman (2018)
Disrespecting Wondy
The animation is horrible. I knew WW and the entire league was going to get destroyed by Doomsday but what they did with WW is horrible. Have they read a single WW comics or lore. WW sword and gauntlets are unbreakable. If her gauntlets are removed she goes into God mode.
I not expecting WW to defeat Doomsday, this is Superman's time to shine unlike Justice League which should have been a team movie but please respect WW mythos
Wonder Woman (2017)
Generic Superhero movie
The world's first and foremost female Super Hero, Wonder Woman at once embodies the unrivaled force and supreme grace of a born warrior, and the genuine compassion and understanding of a true humanitarian. As a symbol of equality, power, and truth, her natural confidence and unmistakable intelligence made her unequaled.Wonder Woman's origin story relates that she was sculpted from clay by her mother Queen Hippolyta and given life by Aphrodite, along with superhuman powers as gifts by the Greek gods
The Amazons are technologically advanced peaceful civilization.
The movie throws everything unique about Wonder Woman makes her a generic as possible. She is now the daughter of Zeus, the Bill Cosby of Greek Mythology. Amazons are stuck in 300BC because they are women and are not capable of inventing anything in 2000 years .She kills dozens of German soldiers like they are born Nazis. The movie most glaring problem is it's villains. They are generic bad guy with cringy dialogues. The main villain comes in the last 10 minutes of the movie ,says confusing things and unclear motives ,fights Diana in Bad CGI armor and is killed by Deus ex machina power.
The movie has a lot of plot holes like How a tiny boat reached from Turkey to London in four days , How Amazons know English and How does invisible barrier work.
Wonder Woman stays hidden for 100 years until Batman sents an Email .
It is sad the DC changed so many things about Wonder Woman and made her generic while Marvel proudly embraced it in Black Panther.
Hope we get a better accurate Wonder Woman movie.

Aknyeo (2017)
Fantastic action scenes but mediocre clichéd story
This movie reminds me of Batman vs Superman, fantastic action sequence, good cinematography and great score but terrible script.
The movie action sequence are like Kingsman except much more brutal. The cinematography was also beautiful. However the main characters were dumb and the villains were cartoonishly evil. You could see the plot twist and the characters motives as soon as you saw the character. If the movie had a simple plot like Raid or Die Hard, it may have been spectacular but instead it tries to be Shakespearean Hamlet saga and fails.
Justice League (2017)
Average as Superman movie and awful as Justice League movie
Pros
They finally get character of Superman finally right. This is great movie for Superman fans and if it was called Man of Steel 2 or Superman returns I would have given it 2.5 star
Erza Millar is great as Barry Allen
Cons
The tagline says "You can't save the world alone" seriously did the marketing even watch the movie. Superman single handedly saves everyone. Rest of the league characters are entirely useless in the movie. I was expecting a team fight like Avengers, where every member contributes to saving the world. No! It just Superman. He is so powerful that I don't see how other league members can help him.
Batman is useless in the movie and out of character.
Wonder Woman who can take blows from doomsday and is fast enough to deflect machine gun bullets goes down with single blow from Superman. Not to mention she was not doing anything for past 100 years. She is suppose to be Zeus daughter and a God but she still cannot even fly.
Aquaman again like Batman is useless.
Cyborg would have been great but most of his scenes were cut from movie. Instead he is nothing more than tech support.
Only Flash was the saving grace in the movie with his comedy. The villain was generic Alien Warlord who turned into a Joke when Superman showed upPros

Kenpufâ (2009)
Awful
I love gender bending movies like Just one of the guys ,hot chick, she is the man. The main reason these movie work is the comedic movement when man act like a girl or a girl like a man. The big problem with Kampher is the main character's personality is like an average girl. He is shy and cowardly. So he when he changes into a girl , he acts like a perfect girl. Then there is the fact that every female in the anime is a lesbian or bisexual and openly fights to woo the female version of the main character. Since I am OCD about completing Anime I watched the entire 13 episode hoping it will improve. No, it became more absurd and stupid
Bãhubali 2: The Conclusion (2017)
Bad Indian Masala camouflaging as period drama
I loved the first movie especially the CGI ,the songs and the ending battle. I was also a fan of directors previous movie Makkhi However the sequel was a big disappointment. Many CGI scenes looked really fake and the story was reduced to Saas bahu TV serial drama *Spoilers*
There is hero riding above two cows whose horns are on fire. The ending battle of bahubali 2 was like a cartoon show. Using trees as catapults and launching soldiers into forts ! Seriously ! So much for logic in Indian Movies I can all ready see next set of youtube comedy videos coming from that scene. Bahubali Saga ultimately felt like any other Indian Masala movie set in ancient India where hero is one punch man. It is not India's Game of thrones or Lord of the rings.
Somebody please make a good movie set in ancient India where the hero is not one punch man
Fan (2016)
Not a bollywood movie.
Once upon a time, i was also a fan of Srk. I saw Srk the actor in non mainstream movies like Chak de India, Billu barber and then mainstream movies like Don, om shanti om and RNBJ was awesome. But movies like Chennai express , Ra one , Don 2 i only saw SRK the bollywood superstar and not Srk the actor But rejoice Srk the actor is back in this movie. Pros Not even one song in this movie. It is unbelievable that director and Srk had such audacity for such blasphemy. Srk portrayal of Gaurav. Even though he is insane we feel so much for him.His wailing in jail was heart wrenching to see.The way Srk portrays a fan whose love turns into hatred is phenomenal.
Cons
The action scene,it felt something straight out of jason bourne movie.
