Big Hero 6: The Series: Fear Not (2020)
Wasabi's finally in the spotlight after 2+ years!
My favorite episode! (Though considering Wasabi's my favorite character, I might be biased.)
Wasabi has to fill in for an absent teaching assistant on first-level quantum optics, but his stage fright makes him freeze up for 6+ hours on the first day. After GoGo advises him to use reverse psychology, thinking he enjoys and is great at public speaking, he ends up in a daydream, staying still and silent for the same amount of time again.
Wasabi's friends try to help him (therapist Baymax suggests envisioning a serene location; Fred takes him on a high tower, to try overshadowing his glossophobia with his acrophobia; Hiro and Honey Lemon simulate his classroom and students, but it glitches), but they all fail.
Elsewhere, Supersonic Sue's grandson, Supersonic Stu (a real Himbo, but he's adorable), busts her out of prison, and they look for an HQ to call their own. They kidnap Roddy Blair, who had built Big Hero 6 a prestigious HQ, and persuade him into building one for them, and keeps them stalled for a while. The team, sans Wasabi, go to rescue him, and end up trapped under rubble.
Wasabi manages to teach his class without trouble, with Mini-Max assisting by having the students, quoting Mini-Max: "Listen to him, and look at me!" He learns of the team's location, and goes with Mini-Max to help them and Roddy out. He pretends to surrender to the Supersonics, and offer them BH6's HQ, but leads them to an abandoned deli. They're arrested, but Wasabi manages to escape with Mini-Max, and a flexible display cloth that renders him invisible.
While all this is happening, Chief Cruz complains to Krei when the Buddy Guards lose against the Supersonics, so Krei promises to come up with, in his words, "something bigger, better, and obscenely expensive". At the end of the episode, Krei shows Cruz something he thinks he'll like: Buddy Guardians, bigger and stronger versions of the puny Buddy Guards.
Overall, I absolutely adore this episode! The "Fugitives" arc may pale in comparison to "City of Monsters", I won't deny, but I think "Fear Not" is the best thing to have come out of it. I'm so glad that he's finally in the limelight after all this time! He deserves it.
My favorite part is Wasabi's daydream; it's so sweet, and adorable. Basically, it has Wasabi becoming a successful SFIT professor full-time. He's adored by his students, wins an award for best professor at SFIT, and even earns a statue of his likeness on campus, which he admires in his greying years. His design for that little part is wonderful too. The song "No Substitute for You" is sweet too.
Highly recommend this episode for every and any Wasabi fan!
The Othersiders (2009)
Great Show!
I remember watching The Othersiders every night when it was still on, and I recently found and binge-watched every episode on Youtube!
Now that it's fresh in my memory, I can say that it made me repeatedly brace myself for any surprises. It made my heart freeze or race, and would have me metaphorically at the edge of my seat. It's great!
In a nutshell, I'm sick of all the criticism. If it wasn't for that, I bet it would've continued on until they ran out of places to go. So what if it's fake? I believe it introduces kids to paranormal investigation without traumatizing them. It doesn't deserve the hate it got/gets. But that makes me wonder: Did they ever go to investigate The White House?
All Grown Up! (2003)
Wonderful, Underrated 'Toon!
All Grown Up is much better than people claim. Heck, I can't decide if I like AGU or Rugrats more. And to those who complain about the former Rugrats trying to fit in; It's actually normal for that to happen.
Personally, my favorite character is Chuckie Finster. To me, he's more relatable than all of the other characters put together. "My stomach, my butt, in a unitard?!" "I can feel it. It starts in my feet, and..." "I've always said the key to happiness is... lowered expectations." "I can't fight the man. I can't even get my jacket closed." Those are only a few relatable quotes by Chuckie alone, but I'm sure those are enough to prove my point.
My favorite episodes have to be "Project Chuckie", "Wouldn't It Be Nice?", and "The Finster Who Stole Christmas." The first one shows that popularity isn't everything, and Chuckie decides to stay a dork. Plus, it briefly showed him as a Rugrat! X3 The second one shows that homosexual pairings are perfectly normal, even though the marriages weren't real. Plus it shows that there can be too much of a good thing, what with Harold and Harriet. Also, it shows to not judge a book by its cover, with Chuckie and Fridge. The third one has the classic lesson "Appreciate the small things in life." Also, who doesn't love an episode centered on their favorite character?
So overall, I feel like All Grown Up is a wonderful, yet underrated cartoon and I wish reruns were on again in the mornings, when people are actually awake.
The Lion King 1½ (2004)
Awesome!
This is one of my favorite Disney movies of all time! It's just too awesome. I love how it shows Timon and Pumbaa meeting, the hyenas being the main villains, and shows Timon's family! Max just recently became my top favorite Disney character overall. Like I said in my review for Behind The Legend: Timon, he's such a riot! Plus to me, he is so cute! Timon's Mom is really cute too, and funny. Especially with the hair thing, and nearly squeezing Timon to death. XD
As for the part where Timon proposes to Shenzi as a distraction, Shenzi's reaction cracks me up every time! XD Same with Timon's hyena joke, Pumbaa changing the channel by accident, the "hot tub" scene, a whole lot of scenes crack me up.
Plus, there were some moments that are just too cute to me. Such as Shenzi's "And that's just how I like 'em! Scrambled, and a little bit runny." And Max's face when Simba reclaims his place as King. Every time I see it, I just want to hug him! X3
I love all the songs too! I get Max's singing stuck in my head. X3
Behind the Legend: Timon (2004)
Hilarious!
I wish this was on the regular DVD along with the Blu-ray. Max is such a riot! He just cracks me up in this and the movie. XD "He had a face like a hyena's!" "No! No, let the man (Airplane!'s late Peter Graves) talk; Finally, somebody sees what I have to deal with." "You were so busy coddling him, you forgot to teach him how to be a meerkat!" "Come on, I'm not a miracle worker!" Plus to me, he is so cute! X3
Ma is really funny too! "Yeah, and unfortunately, I left that to you!"
Plus, Timon was so cute as a baby! Plus his one-man show (at least what was seen from it) is really funny, and that binky bit (Although that binky looks more like a doll) is too. XD
Even though this is about Timon, whom I love, I personally think Max is the best part. His sarcasm is a crack up. XD
Epic (2013)
Epic should have won Best Animated Feature!
This is my first review
I fell in love with Epic just from watching the trailers, and my love grew when I saw it in the theater on its premiere day (May 24th.) And after getting it on DVD and Blu-ray, I've watched it over 20 times now; it's my new favorite, beating The Lion King.
I love everything about it; the plot, animation, music, cast, and characters.
Personally, my number 1 favorite character is Mandrake. I absolutely adore him. I felt really bad for him when his son Dagda died. :( When he made that speech, he had the cutest expression for a split second. Trust me; it's pretty adorable. To me. ;)
Of course, Mandrake isn't the only character I love. I love all of them. I think M.K.'s dad Bomba is my favorite out of the good guys; I find him funny. XD Plus, thanks to Bufo, I've started liking songs by Pitbull, especially Wild Wild Love ft. G.R.L.
I think the music I like best in the movie is the Epic finale; It's so beautiful. :')
In my opinion, Epic should have won the Oscar award for Best Animated Feature (no offense to Frozen fans. It doesn't look bad to me; I just love Epic more.) I feel that Epic should get more merchandise- related attention. All I have is a poster, two sets of magnets, the movie, and valentines from Hobby Lobby with only two given away.
So, since I think of Epic as one of the greatest movies ever, I give it 10 out of 10 stars.
