Inside Man (2022)
A great premise totally let down by a preposterous plot
What could have been a really clever, unusual and morally challenging concept is let down by a dreadful script (shame on you Steven Moffat) and a storyline so full of holes that you could drain pasta in it.
About a dozen times in each episode you just feel like screaming at the screen because the lack of consistency and logic in what clearly prides itself to be a masterly devised story is absolutely enraging. A series with such strong moral dilemmas the protagonists have to face, should have a watertight plot that is driven by events and characters' actions that are necessary and unavoidable. Instead things feel all pretty random and leave you with a very bad taste in your mouth.
I'd strongly advise to avoid this series.
Hotel Portofino (2022)
Perfect entertainment
Lavish settings, good writing, great acting. Anna Chancellor as Lady Lachmere is the highlight for me. And watch out for Olivia Morris, a star in the making.
Professor T (2021)
Unmissable!!
It is so pointless to keep comparing it to the original Belgian series. Can't people judge things on their own merits? The British show is brilliant, great cast, hugely entertaining. Ben Miller is a star, his mother is a hoot, and this is a very special show. Movies, theatre plays, operas are adapted and reworked all the time with different casts and in different languages around the world... and each are valid and exciting in their own right. So ignore the lazy and spiteful reviews of those who can't get over the fact that this is a brilliant series and have just chosen to give it bad marks for cynical or snobbish reasons. And enjoy this wonderful treat of a series.
Before We Die (2021)
A great watch.
Rollercoaster psychological thriller with a fantastic cast.
