Minoriteam (2005)
The worst show on adult swim...ever.
Most shows on the program are decent, some even really good. However, there has to be at least one crap show. It turns out to be "Minoriteam." The show is a parody of the Justice League, and uses stereotypes to give each member its power. However, jokes get old, and plots are meaningless and boring. Also, when I say it gets "old" and "boring," I mean that you will most likely turn the channel within a few minutes of watching it. Stereotypes are sometimes even "made-up" within the show, and make no sense at all. Think of it as the un-funny cousin of "South Park." In fact, it may be the worst adult cartoon ever made. Now that's hitting a new low.
This may be a short review, but I'm warning you, don't watch it. It's a waste of time.
The Evil Dead (1981)
Odd but good
When I saw the director's cut of the Evil Dead, I had mixed feelings. Some parts I thought were boring, but others, quite intriguing. One part I thought they should of left aside was the tree raping scene. That was rather gross and unneeded. Although, I don't care what people say, but this is the perfect horror film. It's not dull and blunt with the plot of just some dude killing people, but not too complex and in depth as the Exorcist. This also doesn't scar the sh*t out of you, but doesn't leave you not scared or nervous like the Grudge (which sucks, I have no idea why people like it). It's also a good cult movie (get some people together to watch it, especially the directors cut, discuss about it while the movie's playing). Overall, I think it's pretty good.
Donnie Darko (2001)
The Greatest Movie Ever Made
My title above may seem extreme, but I truly stand by it. These are the reasons Why: 1. The actors/actresses fit in to the part perfectly. No actor or
actress could replace any of the cast's parts. 2. The movie has a brilliant and unique plot line. There has never
been a film made before hand that was nearly the same. 3. It has a twist ending. I won't spoil it, but if you see the movie,
I'll personally gauruntee* that you'll agree with me. 4. It has the appearance of a teen/slasher movie, but it's
deeper than that. It goes into the mind of a mentally ill
high schooler in the 1980's, and it goes through every
aspect of his life. 5. **Donnie Darko and Frank are just plain AWESOME!
*sorry if I misspelled it **see the movie and you'll know what I mean
Swing Kids (1993)
Seen at a personal level
This movie is incredibly powerful because of one thing: it focuses on one group and not everyone. Think about it through Stalin's quote when a reporter asked him how he could kill his own people: "Easy. One person dying is a tragedy. Thousands dying is a statistic." Here's the point: If the film makers showed every German in the movie that hated the Nazis, the watchers would say at the end "So what," then they would walk out, and shrug it off. When the film makers show the film at a personal level, the viewers relate to it. They begin to feel the emotion and pain that the characters are dealing with. This is why it's a brilliant movie.
