Conversations with Friends (2022)
Hurts the heart in the best way
This captures true, mature and evolved love so beautifully well. The acting is incredible and raw, if slightly uncomfortable. Only because it feels like we are intruding on a private moment, like we shouldn't be seeing their pain. It's the sort of feeling you get when you feel their pain because it was once yours too. An understanding.
Cinderella (2021)
So much love in one movie
I'm so confused why the ratings are so low. Truly baffled. I'm sitting here feeling so damn inspired and cannot wait till my 5 year old daughter comes home to watch it with her. The underlying messages throughout this movie is beyond perfect for the generation up and coming to watch. Not only that but the acting talent was on point, the script and humour was perfect. So the hate? Don't listen to it. IN THE WORDS OF CINDERELLA, DO WHAT YOU LOVE! And that's watch this damn movie.
Men in Black³ (2012)
Nothing but pure genius.
I love the first 2 films. This one? Genius. I love everything about it. I think the chemistry between Will Smith & Josh Brolin is on point and it makes the movie and as always Tommy Lee Jones just swings it out of the ball park.
I loved getting a bit of history about K.
I could watch this movie over and over and I have.
A classic.
Hacksaw Ridge (2016)
Not just any war movie.
I think sometimes critics use their big words to distract you into thinking what they think about a movie.
And unfortunately Hacksaw Ridge has a few of those critics around.
Not only is this movie beautifully written and directed but the all actors talent is A+ and I can't fault it.
It's real and it's gore but war is real and these men fought the hard fight and it frustrates me when critics sit behind their computers and tear movies like this apart.
This movie has the stomach to pack a punch to the audience and it's one of the few war movies that really leaves you speachless at the end.
Mel Gibson has done an amazing job and we are so lucky to be able to see what the men and women went through for us.
Collateral Beauty (2016)
When critics jump on the hate wagon.
Unfortunately this film fell into the hate wagon of critics. It's so disappointing when A good film falls victim to one in, all in.
Such a beautiful film and the concepts are interesting. It's not a movie that has been over done and it's ideas are new and interesting which is why the reviews baffle me.
It does have moments of pulling at the heart strings but what's so wrong with that? It brings out our emotions and really gets you questioning, how would I feel if I lost someone? How would I cope? Who would I blame?
Imagine if we could speak to death, love..ect.
What would you say to them?
It's a though provoking film and the ending is beautiful and well thought out. It's a little surprise but one that brings it all together
Another near flawless preformance by Will Smith and the supporting actors all bring their own quirk to the screen
So glad I picked this up, definitely a movie to remember. So don't listen to the critics, give it a chance.
800 Words (2015)
One too remember.
This series was a surprise for me. I didn't realise how much I would love this and its feel good feeling it leaves you with.
Highly recommend watching when you need a bit of a laugh but want something a little deeper as well.
I love that it's Australian & New Zealand roots and the acting talent is one of the best to come on to Australian tv since McLeod daughters.
I'm hoping for a 4th season!
The Vampire Diaries (2009)
From start to finish.
I watched this tv show from when it first aired to the end and over the years It developed into an amazing series. Not only were the supernatural components great but the everyday people problems were what made this such a lovable series.
I highly recommend for teens/young adults as the issues it touches base on are aimed at that age.
Watch it and you won't be disappointmented!
The season finale (CRIED FOR HOURS)
It's been added to my 'pull it out once a year and binge watch' pile.
