Holes (2003)
A terrific Family Film Filled With much Suspense and Adventure!!!
I absolutely fell in love with this movie! This movie and "Second Hand Lions" are probably the two best movies in the past five years that are truly safe for the WHOLE FAMILY to watch. The movie centers around Stanley, a true victim of circumstance. He was just in the wrong place at the wrong time and ended up getting into some pretty serious trouble as a result he gets sent away to a boot camp in the desert. While there he meets a variety or other boys his age and there are all made to dig holes five feet deep and five feet in diameter in the middle of the scorching heat. While at this facility he meets a new friend named Zero and together they discover that perhaps destiny has brought them together for a far bigger reason they they could ever have imagined.
V for Vendetta (2005)
One of the top 5 movies I have ever seen!
Honestly I loved close to everything about this movie. If I had to explain it to anyone I would first call it a cross between George Orwell's "Animal Farm" and "1984", I mean take it or leave it everything about this movie screams Orwell one way or another. Weather its the oppressed society on the brink of revolution, the corrupt totalitarian government, or the completely brutal police force employed by the government. I seriously can't tell you enough good things about this movie! I'll just leave you with the thought that 'if you like a good underdog story about good old' fashioned revenge this is the movie for you!'
666: The Child (2006)
Worst Movie Ever!!!
Honestly I am not even joking when I say that this is one of the worst movies I have ever seen! This film dosen't have a single ounce of originality in its flimsy dialog or its blatantly plagiarized story line. I can not even begin to count the number of things in this film that are obviously ripped off from "The Omen" and other movies like it. For example the nanny "Lucy" in this film is actually one of the devil's minions sent to guide and protect the spawn of Satan.....does this sound a lot like Mrs. Baylock to anyone else. Another thing is that the orphanage were they first got the child burned to the ground just a few months after he was adopted, just like in "The Omen". However luckily one priest survived the blaze and escaped with sever burns all over his body....yet another coincidence?????? And to top it all off the burned priest is staying in a hospital room with pictures of Jesus all over the walls, much like the priest in "The Omen" having pages of the Bible plastered on the walls like wall-paper. Please don't even get me started drawing comparisons between the ending of this movie and "The Omen" for you because as I've stated above there are far too many to mention here.
The West Wing (1999)
3 reasons to watch "The West WIng"
There are many reasons why "The West Wing" is my favorite show ever, in fact there are far to many to explain here but I'll try.
1) Believable Characters: Far too often the characters that are on television today are portrayed as always having the correct answer to any moral dilemma that crosses their path and they have even the most complex of situations successfully resolved within a half an hour.
This is simply not the case in "The West Wing" these characters have to deal with serious moral dilemmas including weather or not to bail out an economically struggling country in a time of crisis, and dealing with the emotional/psychological aftermath of the death of a loved one.
2) Great Values: So many of the characters of "The West Wing" exhibitor exceptional morals and good value systems. These characters are typically loyal, brave, honest, funny, and if someone is hurting someone that they count as a friend in any way they close ranks and eliminate the problem.
3) Character Driven Drama: As a result of all the characters on "The West Wing" being so complex the possible story lines are nearly endless. Honestly if the network had not cancelled the show so prematurely there is a good chance that it may be entertaining people for years to come.
