Kevin (Probably) Saves the World (2017)
Love this show...please plan for Season 2
Rarely do we find a show that everyone in our extended family (that lives together) loves. And it's also hard to find a new show where we are immediately invested starting at the Pilot (usually, we have to be patient as the script works out it's kinks). This one is just such a show.
Jason Ritter has become a fine actor, with comedic timing glimpses of his dear late father, John. Both he and the actor who plays the teenage niece play their roles pitch perfectly.
If you are looking for a well-written show that doesn't include crude language or gratuitous violence; with a theme about redemption and a higher-purpose, then you'll fall in love with this one, too.
At the end of the Pilot episode, we all cried out "We want to binge...don't make us wait".
Were already hoping that the network is approving a second season.
Travelers (2016)
This show better get renewed...
Excellent show! Well written, well acted. Intriguing concept with a spin on the typical dark-post-apocalyptic future sci-fi. The characters are well developed and likable in their own way (even the ones you hate); and we were so bummed to leave our 'friends' when the season was over. My husband usually doesn't go out for sci-fi, but he loves good dialogue and creativity. This show hit the mark...plus, he's really enjoys pretty girls, and the casting delivered. Fingers' crossed for multiple seasons.
Million Dollar Critic (2014)
Fun show - where did it go?
I probably killed this show because I liked it. It feels like I have that power as darn near every show I like seems to go away.
This was a fun show...part reality show, part game show, part HGTV- style format with restaurants instead of houses. We used to watch Guy F on Diners, Drive-in but he always loved everything...we had a chance to eat at a couple of the establishments he reviewed and we just didn't agree. So, finding the Million Dollar Critic was a breath of fresh air.
I loved the tit-tat between Julia the assistant who found the locations, and Giles who was on-scene to shop/experience the restaurants. The restaurant owners were generally likable and it was easy to root for them. Giles' insights were witting and very entertaining.
Not sure why this show didn't get renewed. Maybe there wasn't enough drama ala Paris Hilton for viewers. In any event, it would be great to see Giles again somewhere.
