Yellowstone (2018)
Forrie J Smith's Unacceptable Behavior Sets a Disappointing Example
It is with great disappointment that I must share my profound dissatisfaction with Yellowstone, driven primarily by the abhorrent conduct of one of its actors, Forrie J Smith. While I typically reserve critique for the show's artistic merits, recent events compel me to speak out against Smith's appalling behavior, which has left an indelible stain on my perception of the series.
The incident in question occurred during a recent flight, where reports have emerged detailing Smith's shocking behavior. Allegedly inebriated, Smith outright refused to sit next to a fellow passenger who was wearing a mask. What makes this behavior particularly egregious is the fact that the individual wearing the mask was reportedly undergoing cancer treatment and needed to protect themselves from potential exposure to illness.
In a time when empathy and compassion should prevail, Smith's actions demonstrate a shocking lack of regard for the well-being of others. His decision to prioritize his own comfort and convenience over the health and safety of a vulnerable individual is not only deeply troubling but also profoundly disappointing.
As a viewer and supporter of Yellowstone, I find it impossible to continue endorsing a show that employs an actor with such flagrant disregard for basic human decency. Smith's behavior not only reflects poorly on himself but also undermines the integrity of the entire production.
Moreover, Smith's reported intoxication during the incident raises additional concerns about his professionalism and reliability as a performer. As someone who holds a position of influence and visibility, Smith has a responsibility to conduct himself in a manner befitting of his status. By failing to do so, he not only damages his own reputation but also tarnishes the reputation of the show and its creators.
In light of these revelations, I can no longer in good conscience support Yellowstone or any other project associated with Forrie J Smith. Until he publicly acknowledges and takes responsibility for his actions, and demonstrates genuine remorse and a commitment to change, I will be boycotting any show or project that he is involved in.
It is my sincere hope that other viewers will join me in holding individuals like Smith accountable for their reprehensible behavior. It's time for the entertainment industry to prioritize integrity and accountability over profit and prestige.
Death and Other Details (2024)
A show where the rich bad guys win ...
"Death and Other Details" offers a promising premise but falls short in execution. The series suffers from a jumbled narrative that fails to fully engage viewers. While the central character, Imogen, initially appears as a beacon of justice, her decision to turn her mother into authorities for blackmailing the wealthy feels morally questionable. Furthermore, the disappointing conclusion, where the rich antagonists emerge victorious, leaves a bitter taste. Despite occasional moments of intrigue, the series ultimately fails to deliver a satisfying resolution, leaving viewers feeling unsatisfied and disconnected from the storyline.
We Are Family (2024)
Just what no body ask for. A nepo game show.
A show entrenched in nepotism faces challenges in attracting viewers, partly due to the perceived entitlement of nepotism-bred Hollywood scions. Audiences value authenticity and fairness, but when individuals receive opportunities primarily due to family connections rather than merit, it undermines trust. Moreover, the proliferation of entitled nepo-kids often results in a lack of diversity and fresh perspectives, stifling creativity and innovation. Audiences seek narratives that reflect a broader spectrum of experiences, yet nepotistic environments typically prioritize the interests of a select few. Consequently, viewers may shy away from such shows, preferring to support content that genuinely showcases talent and offers equal opportunities, unclouded by familial influence and entitlement.
No One Will Save You (2023)
No One Will Save You is A Thrilling Journey Derailed by a Disastrous Ending
"No One Will Save You" had all the ingredients of a potential cinematic masterpiece, but it ultimately crumbled under the weight of a baffling and unsatisfying ending that left me perplexed and disappointed. This film started with promise but fell short in delivering a coherent and rewarding conclusion.
The movie begins on a high note, with gripping tension, solid character development, and an engaging plot. The lead actress gives it her all, navigating her character's transformation from vulnerability to resilience with commendable skill. The film's intense sequences and edge-of-your-seat moments hold your attention, making it a notable entry in the thriller genre.
However, it's the ending that undoes much of the movie's good work. Spoiler Alert: The aliens, despite posing a significant threat and suffering casualties at the hands of the protagonist, inexplicably spare her life because of a single childhood trauma event that was itself an accident. This twist is not only implausible but also leaves viewers with more questions than answers.
The film's terrible ending, which could only be described as a narrative misstep, severely detracts from the overall experience. It robs the movie of the coherence and emotional resonance that it initially promised. What could have been a 10-star film is instead hampered by a conclusion that feels rushed and poorly thought out.
American Horror Story: Multiply Thy Pain (2023)
A Masterful Start with One Thorny Exception
"American Horror Story: Delicate" bursts onto the scene with its debut episode, and I have to say, it's a dark and thrilling start to what promises to be an intriguing season. From the eerie atmosphere to the compelling characters and intricate storytelling, this episode hits all the right notes, with one glaring exception that I cannot overlook: Kim Kardashian's acting.
Let's begin with the good, and there is plenty of it. "Delicate" immerses viewers in a world of macabre mysteries and unsettling events right from the opening scenes. The visual and auditory elements are top-notch, creating an atmosphere that is both haunting and mesmerizing. The production team behind this series deserves praise for their attention to detail and ability to craft an unsettling ambiance that keeps you on the edge of your seat.
The ensemble cast, aside from the divisive addition of Kim Kardashian, delivers stellar performances. Each actor brings depth and authenticity to their roles, making it easy to invest in their characters. Sarah Paulson, once again, proves her acting prowess as she dives headfirst into her complex role. Her ability to convey a wide range of emotions and navigate the intricacies of the storyline is truly commendable.
The storytelling in this episode is a masterclass in suspense and intrigue. The narrative unfolds with a series of twists and turns that keep viewers guessing. "Delicate" is not afraid to delve into the darkest corners of the human psyche, and it does so with a sense of audacity that is both refreshing and chilling. The writers have crafted a story that feels fresh and original, even within the well-established "American Horror Story" universe.
The set design and cinematography in this episode are nothing short of exceptional. From the eerie mansion to the cryptic symbols scattered throughout, every detail adds to the overall sense of dread and foreboding. The visual storytelling is as compelling as the narrative itself, making "Delicate" a feast for the eyes.
However, there is a glaring sore spot in an otherwise flawless episode: Kim Kardashian's acting. Her performance is wooden and lacks the depth and nuance displayed by the rest of the cast. Her presence is distracting and takes viewers out of the immersive experience that the episode works so hard to create. It's a disappointing misstep in casting, and one can't help but wonder if her inclusion was more for publicity than for the benefit of the show.
In a series known for its exceptional ensemble cast, Kardashian's role feels like an unnecessary stunt casting choice. It's clear that her acting abilities do not measure up to the caliber of talent that "American Horror Story" is known for, and it's a disservice to the other actors and the audience to have her prominently featured.
In conclusion, "American Horror Story: Delicate" Episode 1 is a triumph in many aspects. It captivates with its eerie atmosphere, outstanding performances from the ensemble cast, and a narrative that keeps you guessing. However, the glaring weakness in Kim Kardashian's acting cannot be ignored. Her presence detracts from the overall quality of the episode and serves as a reminder that stunt casting should not take precedence over the integrity of the storytelling. Despite this misstep, "Delicate" is off to a promising start, and I eagerly anticipate where the rest of the season will take us.
Loot (2022)
The Pitfalls of "Loot": A Case Against Watching
In the ever-expanding landscape of television shows, there are gems that captivate audiences with their compelling narratives, well-crafted characters, and thought-provoking themes. Unfortunately, not every show lives up to these standards, and one such example is "Loot." While the allure of a new series might be tempting, a closer examination of "Loot" reveals a range of shortcomings that render it far from worth watching.
1. Lackluster Plot Development:
At the core of any successful show is a strong plot that engages viewers from the outset and keeps them invested throughout. "Loot," however, falls short in this crucial aspect. The show's plot is riddled with inconsistencies, pacing issues, and a lack of clear direction. Characters make decisions that seem arbitrary and inexplicable, making it difficult for audiences to connect with their motivations. The narrative lacks the necessary twists and turns that generate anticipation, leaving viewers feeling disinterested and detached.
2. Shallow Characterization:
Compelling characters are the heart and soul of any great show. Unfortunately, "Loot" fails to deliver in this department as well. The characters in the show are one-dimensional and lack depth, making it challenging for viewers to form any emotional attachment. Their actions and dialogue often feel forced or contrived, making it difficult to empathize with their experiences. Without relatable or well-developed characters, the show loses a critical element that allows audiences to invest in the story.
3. Poor Dialogue and Writing:
Engaging dialogue and strong writing are essential for conveying the essence of characters, advancing the plot, and fostering emotional connections. "Loot" struggles in this regard, presenting viewers with uninspiring dialogue that feels unnatural and unconvincing. Meaningful exchanges between characters, which should serve as moments of emotional resonance, often fall flat due to awkward phrasing and lack of authenticity. As a result, the show fails to create the kind of memorable lines or interactions that are often the hallmark of successful series.
4. Incoherent Tone and Themes:
A well-defined tone and thematic framework help guide viewers through the narrative and provide a sense of cohesion. "Loot," unfortunately, suffers from an incoherent tone and muddled themes. It struggles to establish a consistent atmosphere, often veering between genres without a clear sense of purpose. This lack of tonal clarity can leave audiences perplexed, unsure of how they are meant to engage with the story. Additionally, the show introduces various themes but fails to explore them in depth, leaving viewers with a sense of unfulfilled potential.
5. Predictable Plot Twists:
A successful show often thrives on its ability to surprise and challenge viewers' expectations. Regrettably, "Loot" falls into the trap of predictable plot twists that undermine its ability to captivate audiences. As the story unfolds, the twists become increasingly foreseeable, robbing the show of the element of suspense that keeps viewers engaged. Without the element of surprise, "Loot" struggles to maintain its hold on its audience.
6. Production Value Shortcomings:
While a show's production value doesn't solely determine its quality, it does play a role in shaping the overall viewing experience. "Loot" suffers from noticeable production value shortcomings, from lackluster cinematography to subpar visual effects. These deficiencies can be distracting and make it difficult for viewers to immerse themselves fully in the story. In a competitive television landscape, where audiences are accustomed to high-quality visuals, such production shortcomings can be a significant drawback.
In conclusion, "Loot" presents a disappointing viewing experience that is marred by its lackluster plot development, shallow characterization, poor dialogue and writing, incoherent tone and themes, predictable plot twists, and production value shortcomings. While every show deserves a fair chance, the combination of these factors ultimately renders "Loot" not worth watching. In a world where there are numerous exceptional television options available, viewers are better off investing their time in shows that offer more engaging narratives, well-crafted characters, and a higher level of overall quality.
Is It Cake? (2022)
The 2nd season should change the name of the show
This second seasons is more about "can you make a real item look like cake" .. I don't recall them being allowed to repaint the real items and burn them etc. You either can match the color or you can't.
This season was definitely more about tricking the judges into thinking the real item was cake and less about making a cake look like the real item.
They literally repainted the real items terrible. They melted items. Etc etc. A real let down since it wasn't showing who was best at actually matching colors or matching fabric etc. Of course judges couldn't tell and it was always a guess. I hope they say no more tampering with the real item ... if they get a season 3.
The Angry Black Girl and Her Monster (2023)
It's nothing like Frankenstein at all. There's almost zero connection. Its literallya zombie flick.
It's nothing like Frankenstein at all. There's almost zero connection. Its literallya zombie flick. The only Frankenstein connection was electricity (but not lightning) and at one point the zombie says they called him monster (but no one actually did....)
It's starts having a small girl (Chris's sister) drag a large man's dead body away... somehow the town knows Chris is dead... even though there is no body...
They never show the girl stealing more bodies but it's eluded to twice.. even though Chris was shot once in the head, she needed multiple bodies...and sowed on weird hands..
In a weird scene where they try to make the teacher an evil person. The teacher says the girls name wrong... and that's really it. The girl keeps inturpting class to claim she can cure death. And won't stop talking about it. The teacher called the resource officer since the girl refuses to leave class. The officer arrest her... her dad shows up to yell at the teacher and threaten her.. saying she shouldn't call the cops on his daughter and needs to teach... even though the teacher was trying too and kept getting interrupted by the girl. And why did dad tell the teacher to never lay another hand on his daughter... that was the officer , not the teacher...
The girl proceeded to make nonsense electronics to bring her brother back to life. It's just wires and metal with no explanation. She has a bunch of bikes welded together so i guess she welds too. They missed the first chance to make a Frankenstein connection. She could have used lightning....
Next this girl steals a large amount of drugs from the local gang bangers... they know who she is and yet she runs away and goes home... why didn't they just go to her house?...
The drug dealers give her a black eye and then just empty threats.. They're supposed to be killers but let this girl walk all over them... okay
Later Chris, whom this girl made and brought back to life, appears at her window and she's scared and won't stop screaming... which is weird because she made him and knows what he looks like...
Frankenstein's monster was a misunderstood good guy... Chris is just evil...
And Chris's baby momma has 2 other kids. She somehow deeply cares about this kids education and makes sure she knows not to go with strangers etc... but the girl says she wants to hang out with Chris. And the mom says sure and then says she has no idea who Chris is... must be a new tenant...
Another way it's not her like Frankenstein is , Chris is not friends with his creator and is with the other little girl that wasn't involved in making him at all.
Near the end one of the gangbangers risk his life to help the girl kill chris... why? Why would he do that? It made no sense.
When Chris is killed his dying words were that people called him a monster. And the girl that made him says they made him a monster by calling him one.. but no one ran around calling him monster.. so that was weird.
Then at the end the girls bring back to life several recently dead family members... just using electricity. So she cured death... just by shocking... after seeing a paramedic shock someone... that's just lazy writing.
Overall, it was just a terrible movie. It has nothing to do with Frank. And has so many plot holes that is just hard to stay invested..
Fear the Walking Dead: All I See Is Red (2023)
Kim can't act
Kim can't act . She should have left the show season 1. Again a kid is in charge and this is dumb. You tried with Rick's first kid.... then Rick's second kid... then the new world spin off.... now MO... stop putting terrible kid actors in lead rolls. It makes the show feel cheap and badly written. Fire Kim. End the MO story line. And get back to season 1 style.. without Kim of course. She should have left the show season 1. Again a kid is in charge and this is dumb. Fear the Walking Dead: More Time Than You Know (2023)
Quit trying to make 10 year Olds leads of the show
The story is just terrible now. And the completely unrealistic overly precocious kid is way played out. No one wanted to watch "new world" for this reason. Would you listen to any 10 year old give orders and take charge in the apocalypse?? No. The story is just terrible now. And the completely unrealistic overly precocious kid is way played out. No one wanted to watch "new world" for this reason. Just end this show already. You are ruining a legacy with the trash. And what's her name should have never come back. She's the worst actor om the show. Cancel this version. It's done. Take it behind the barn.
Black Mirror: Mazey Day (2023)
What's everyone upset about. It's one of the best thesis season.
I don't know why everybody's hating on this episode. Maybe they have an issue with Zazie Beetz being the lead for some reason. But this episode is maybe the best one of the season at least second best. I don't know why I'm people all of a sudden Have a problem with black mirror doing anything outside the box. It's black mirror I don't know what they thought they were watching but don't listen to the reviews. I almost didn't watch this one because it was so low-rated. But it's actually a very good episode. And everyone should watch it and will love it because it's good. I don't want to give anything away, but it certainly different from a lot of other black mirrors, but it's black mirror, they're supposed to twist and turn.
Friends (1994)
The one where there all overrated
The show is just extremely overrated. And they overuse the laugh track. You can get past the fact that it's a total unrealistic premise of living in New York in these huge apartments and having very little to no work, but the show in itself is just not funny. The jokes rarely land there's 1 or 2 episodes in the entire series that are pretty funny. Outside of that, it's very bland. The jokes are jokes your grandmother Would tell add a church function. I don't think this was funny, really past 1997. It should have been 3 seasons and done. How they went This long is beyond me. And I don't think they will hold up over the next 20 years..
The Drew Barrymore Show (2020)
They keep trying
They keep trying to shove drew Barrymore and the drew Barrymore show down everyone's neck. Idk if Hollywood just owes her for something because I don't know why you would keep moving this show around trying to find an audience unless you owed someone something. The show is just weird and fake, she clearly seems like she acting super fake and it makes for weird television. If I could sum up The drew Berry Moore show in 600 words it would be the words in this review that needs to be 600 but really there is not 600 words to say about the show it's not entertaining it's just like an awkward public broadcasting.
The D'Amelio Show (2021)
A Hollow Spectacle, The D'Amelio Show is A Complete Letdown
"The D'Amelio Show," the highly anticipated reality TV series featuring the D'Amelio family, is nothing short of a colossal disappointment. It's rare to come across a show that lacks any redeeming qualities whatsoever, but this one manages to achieve just that. In this review, I'll delve into the numerous flaws that plague this series, leaving viewers with a sense of emptiness and regret for investing their time in it.
One of the most glaring issues with "The D'Amelio Show" is its utter lack of substance. The show purports to provide an inside look at the lives of TikTok sensations Charli and Dixie D'Amelio, but it fails miserably in delivering any meaningful insight. Instead, viewers are subjected to a barrage of vapid and self-indulgent content that does nothing to shed light on the real lives of the D'Amelio family.
The series attempts to portray the D'Amelio family as relatable and down-to-earth, but it falls flat on its face. Rather than showcasing the challenges and struggles that come with fame, "The D'Amelio Show" seems more interested in perpetuating an image of unattainable glamour and privilege. It's a missed opportunity to humanize these internet sensations and connect with the audience on a deeper level.
The show's production values are lackluster, to say the least. It feels hastily put together, with choppy editing and a disjointed narrative structure. There's a distinct lack of creativity in the way the episodes are constructed, leaving viewers with a sense of monotony and predictability.
Character development, or the lack thereof, is another glaring issue. The D'Amelio family members come across as one-dimensional and scripted, making it difficult to empathize with their supposed struggles and triumphs. It's as if the show is more concerned with maintaining a carefully curated image than with authenticity.
"The D'Amelio Show" also suffers from a severe case of monotony. Each episode feels like a repetition of the last, with the same tired themes and conflicts rehashed over and over again. There's a distinct lack of variety and creativity in the storytelling, leading to viewer fatigue.
The show's attempts at humor and entertainment are cringe-worthy at best. Forced jokes and contrived situations fall flat, leaving the audience with a sense of awkwardness rather than genuine laughter. It's a painful reminder of how far reality TV has fallen in its quest for manufactured drama and manufactured moments.
Furthermore, "The D'Amelio Show" offers little in the way of emotional depth or resonance. The family's struggles, such as they are, feel trivial and insignificant in the grand scheme of things. There's a lack of genuine emotional connection with the characters, making it difficult to invest in their personal journeys.
In conclusion, "The D'Amelio Show" is a prime example of reality TV at its worst. It lacks substance, authenticity, and any semblance of creativity. With no redeeming qualities to speak of, it's a hollow spectacle that leaves viewers wondering why they wasted their time on it. As a piece of entertainment, it falls flat, offering nothing of value or substance. It's a series that should serve as a cautionary tale for those who prioritize fame and fortune over genuine storytelling and connection with their audience.
Inventing Anna (2022)
Julia is way overrated and this is bad acting
Right in the title, I get the character is over the top but geez, this is unwatchable. Don't buy into the hype. The story may have been good played by another actress, besides her accent in this her acting in general is just too "look at me"
Red Table Talk (2018)
A show trying way to hard to be relevant
The pace of this show is terrible and very dull and boring. Somehow the host can make any dramatic experience a guest has had into a very uninspiring tale. At best this show belongs as a YouTube channel, but personally I could go my whole life without seeing so much as another clip and I would be very happy about that.
Russian Doll (2019)
They rewrite history
Season 2 just not as good as season 1. Why did they choose to paint east Germany as a tolerant place that people wanted to stay in... that's not real history, weird choice. Also hungry is that nice.
Joe vs Carole (2022)
Did Carole produce this show...
The show portrays Carole as a "good person" that's doing right by big cats. When in real life she keeps big cats in small cages just like the rest of them. It's weird that this show decided to essentially champion her like this. Makes the show unwatchable after a while. Maybe if you didn't know who she was it would be OK, but this white washing of her history is just ridiculous.
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (2017)
Not for me
If you like the show Letter Kenny then I guess you'll probably like this. I don't either. The comedy is very forced and not funny with jokes seen coming 3 miles away. The over acting and bad accents make it hard too watch.
WandaVision: We Interrupt This Program (2021)
While better, still bad, and i quit
You'll notice the reviews having more 10/10 then the rest and the next episodes probably will too, not because the show got good though. the rest of us quit watching. and I think those a bought 10's . this show isn't good.
WandaVision: Now in Color (2021)
not getting much better
So far ep1, ep2, and ep3 should have all been crammed into one episode. just so much bore to tell so little information.
WandaVision: Don't Touch That Dial (2021)
Still pretty terrible, but better than ep1
Still sludging through this. it is a task. again, it's not funny, no real action, so far ep 1 and ep 2 should have been in the same ep.
WandaVision: Filmed Before a Live Studio Audience (2021)
it's like an old 50's sitcom
Like literally. no action. no up to date jokes...i hope ep 2 is better, I love marvel so I'll give it 4 eps ...but JFC i hope this isn't the tone.
Wonder Woman 1984 (2020)
wonder woman should have muscles and not be wafer thin
Its was OK. A little to "family" . needs a little more brutality.
remember when linda hamilton got buff for terminator, remember when sigourney weaver got ripped for alien... whatever happened to actresses doing that? Gal is built like a supermodel and put on zero muscle for this role. she even stands around pushing her hip out like a runway model.... wtf, get a tougher Gal.
and we get it, she's wonder woman, stop having her stop everything to save two kids, we get it, shes good, we don't need a fourth time of watching her slowmo save 2 kids.
Z Nation (2014)
first few seasons are epic
Just like the title says. first few seasons are awesome. A unique zombie show that's fun with gore. but then at some point they start heavily following one character, (kellita aka Lt Roberta Warren), but her character isn't good and they keep trying to push her terrible tagline "puppies and kittens" and it is terrible. watch the first 3 seasons then stop and keep a fond memory of the show, or finish it an wonder why they invested so heavily in such a bad actress.
