I see reviews that aren't complimentary about this series and I get why, to appreciate the level of acting in this, from people such as Olivia Colman and Lenny James, you have to take it to the stripped back level of society, amongst criminal activity, survival and the depths where only the super talented can go. This makes the grit real, it creates empathy on a level that would usually be registered and the sliding door effect, creates the ripple. Great series for those who like actors at their best!

28 years old???? How scary!

Still one of my most revisited films. Told in Typical Tarantino style, Violence, over the top dialogue, a great soundtrack, actors that are later recycled for future projects and back n forth storytelling.
Iconic, brilliant and everything Tarantino!

At last, I've seen it!
8 March 2020
Recommended many times, because of my taste in music, I finally get to watch it!
Honestly, more cheesy than expected, but it was fun and squeezed with so many familiar rock classics. A film that is to be taken as seriously as Brand's Brummie accent, which I can only assume was in homage to Ozzy???
Inoffensive, cheesy as hell, but you will be singing along

Terrible ... a band wagon horror!
4 March 2020
Warning: Spoilers
At best, it's an easy watching film that you do not have to concentrate on, it gets 4 stars for that reason. The rest is pretty naff and jumps on the band wagon of such films like scream. Nothing to jump at, nothing particularly gory and a story with no originality

A film to revisit, time and time again
4 March 2020
From the very first time watching this film, I fell in love with the music and the idea of riding alongside the band. Whilst the main character is somewhat, unbelievable in the 'real world', I'm sure the theory behind this, was to see Rock n roll through innocent, yet wise eyes.
Batman Begins

Re-visit
13 November 2019
I'm not sure I enjoyed this too much the first time around, a darkened version of what we knew to be a colourful, fantasy franchise, but a revisit and a chance to readjust, was worthy and made for a good first instalment.
Loved the training part, reminders of old martial arts movies from long ago.
Now looking for forward to more re-visits and understanding more of the background to these characters.

Enjoyable re-make
8 September 2019
Still a favourite re-visit of mine and a remake that I feel works well (original Dial M for murder). It has it's date stamp in terms of dramatic music and perhaps If made now, would be more gritty, suspenseful and violent, but it works just as well in this era as it did for the original.
Michael Douglas role is perhaps stereotypical of other roles he has played, but if it's not broke don't fix it applies.

Every parents worst nightmare!
24 August 2019
A film to bring every kind of emotion to its rawest level, some amazing performances, from pretty much an all star cast. Suspenseful, debatable and realistically horrific!
A must watch for those who enjoy actor driven gritty ness!

Story driven, raw British Drama
20 August 2019
Love how this series of separate episodes each connect with each other, whilst you witness the impact of ripple effect.
Quite dark, gritty and everything great about British drama! You will either love it for it's raw truth, or hate it for its tone.

Probably the best 3D film to date
9 August 2019
Warning: Spoilers
There is no other way to watch this, but in 3D! What also added to the opening scene for me, was completing the Serengeti series yesterday evening, which relates so well.
The scenes are spectacular, the movements of all animals and actor choices for all characters, I'm sure will go unchallenged. More emphasis on already popular songs, but a wow moment on 'wimaway'.
A nostalgic classic, refurbished and brought up to date, can't fail to enjoy!

The player got played!
4 August 2019
Oh such a nostalgic film! It perfectly encapsulates the era with the music, fashion and language. I hadn't realised, just how many sayings I had pinched from this film and with a fair share of stand up comedians, we have some great funny moments as well as the flip.
The Upside
(2017)
Utter brilliance!
20 July 2019
Perhaps this was a surprise, because it was a more serious role for Kevin Hart, or because i could relate to some of the issues, but this film was a real treat in terms of human connection. Absolutely loved the humour and seriousness that ran side by side
Peaky Blinders
(2013–2022)
Different from any dated show you've seen!
16 July 2019
Just finished series 4 after binge watching from the beginning.
What a cast! Cillian Murphy, Tom Hardy, Paddy Considine and Adrian Brody among the known names, with some great supporting not so well named, but for me Paul Anderson was the absolute icing on the cake!
Each series, a new pace builder, intensity personifies and with so much happening in each episode, it will feel like years down the line, when you edge toward the current end.
Violent, sexual, corrupt, exciting!

Tick off the conspiracy list!
4 July 2019
A better film, perhaps in its time, but also still Avery relevant conspiracy thriller.
Does drag on a little and of course the action is perhaps, a little less subtle than a realistic style thriller would be.
Worth a watch!
