Earth Over Earth (2022)
Annoying and just bad
Nonsensical garbage. The female lead was so pretentious and phony that I was hoping someone would kill her. Yes, she was that annoying. And because my review has a required number of characters, I will reiterate that the female lead was so bad that I wanted someone to kill her. The poor fella she was with deserved so much better. The plot was a mess and I still don't know what it was supposed to be about. Did I mention the female lead was atrocious? Perhaps the character was supposed to be enigmatic but this bimbo came off as a wannabe. Her vocal affectations were forced and grated on my last nerve.
Gone in the Night (2022)
Disappointing
I like movies that keep you guessing until the very end and make me go WTF I never saw that coming. This is not one of those. Had this one figured out early on yet I kept hoping there would be a twist to prove me wrong. Nope. Come on, Winona Ryder, you can do better than this! Not much else very noteworthy to say about this movie but they don't like short and sweet reviews here so will keep typing until I meet the minimum character limit and that's not easy to do and it reminds me of trying to write a one page essay for school by using lots of filler words so let's just say I was very very disappointed.
The Danger of Positive Thinking (2018)
Laughable
Hello Lifetime! Cheesy, smarmy dialogue, terrible acting, predictable plot. And of course everyone wears makeup and lift bras to bed. If you liked Melrose Place and Beverly Hills 90210, you'll like this.
God's Not Dead 2 (2016)
Hallmark stuff
Cheesy and has no intellectual appeal. I imagine believers love it. Preaching to the choir here. Just as silly as part 1 in putting God as victim. Probably pisses off God to be portrayed that way.
The Trump Prophecy (2018)
omg so bad it was rejected by Lifetime
If you're in the mood for a poorly acted maudlin movie dripping with syrup, you will love it.
I See You (2019)
Now THAT'S a must-see!
Finally, a truly satisfying psychological thriller after seeing so many duds lately! Excellent. Highly recommend.
Manifest (2018)
Room for improvement
This series has a lot of potential and could be excellent with better actors. My reaction to the 1st season is lukewarm. Not sure I'll bother with the 2nd season.
Jacob's Ladder (2019)
Terrible remake
The original was awesome. This remake is embarrassingly awful. I made it through 45 minutes and finally acknowledged it wasn't going to get better.
Rocketman (2019)
Loved this!!!
This is a must see for all lifelong Elton John fans. I've loved Elton John's music since I was 13 and was blown away by his San Diego concert in 1975. Taron Egerton looked so much like Elton that it was almost spooky! Bryce Dallas Howard is one of my favorite actresses, and she nailed the role of Elton's mother. The music throughout is a delight for fans...those of you who know every lyric to every song, as I do, will have a blast.
The Twilight Zone (2019)
Definitely a MUST SEE!
I've loved the original Twilight Zone since I was a child. There have been several reboot attempts that were ok. This latest series is SPOT ON! The episodes are clever and so relevant to our current political climate where many of us already feel as though we're living in the Twilight Zone. Well done! A must watch for any fan of the original series. You won't be disappointed. Rod Serling would be proud.
