Walk Like a Panther (2018)
Go panthers go.
Caught this film by accident. Watched it on a Saturday afternoon which was perfect for a wrestling based film. Plenty of laugh out loud moments. Drama and funny in equal measure. Follows the formula as did full Monty. Community based people trying to save their local pub, against a snidy brewery boss played really well by Stephen Thompkinson. By the end of the film you'll be wanting to grab your 80s Lycra and get in the ring with them. Can't understand the negative reviews. It's a feel good film with a great message at the heart of it. People giving it one out of ten have no heart. Panthers goooooooo.
Stonehouse (2023)
What a turnaround
Brilliantly written and acted. All through the first episode I was scoffing how stupid he was. Too greedy. How dare he treat his wife and family that way! 2nd episode I was thinking how the psychiatrist was giving him a way out, what a conman, and how he deserved some prison time. By the end of the 3rd episode I just felt so sad for him. He obviously did have a point. I think today he would've been more understood, mental health plays a big part in this telling. So sad that he seemed to just be getting his life together, for it to be snatched away. Great acting by all especially Matthew who got the balance exactly right.
This Beautiful Fantastic (2016)
Beautifully fantastic
I loved this film. Caught it by accident one Sunday afternoon. Just the sort of film to accompany cup of tea and Victoria sponge. It totally pulls you in. Gives you a lovely warm feeling. But make sure you have a hankie.
