Austin & Ally (2011)
Pretty decent show, a bit... lacking.
Many of my friends quite enjoy this show, and they wanted me to write a review on it. However, I could not simply write a good 10/10, since I think there are some severely lacking things in it.
First of all, there a number of wonderful things about it. Pros:
Carrie and Dez. They are the only good characters in the show. They have heart, comedy, and brains...wait no. But that's okay, because they're sweet and really benefit the show.
the new premise in season 4. It's very interesting and tough to consider, since Austin isn't allowed to perform. It's finally where we can see what ally can honestly do.
Cons, because that's why I'm here:
Austin and ally's new relationship. At least, not their amount of gushiness. Every once in a while, sure. But every five seconds, no I don't think so. It's quite annoying and disgusting.
Austin's treatment of Ally, at least in former episodes, was atrocious. She had to put her dreams on the sidelines so that Austin the pretty boy could pursue his, a selfish predicament. However, now he's given up his career do her, so this could be a pro.
Characters: as in Austin, Ally, and Trish. Austin is not talented at dancing or singing, really, and is weak, since everyone else does everything for him. Ally used to be adorable and quirky, what with her stage fright, bad dancing, and love of studying. But now, apparently, she's lost all of that and become just another pop singer:(. Oh and Trish, always getting another job every five seconds is gone. She just chats with her boyfriend, is rude, but yet still gets to stick around because...I don't even know.
plot holes: if Austin is so famous, shouldn't he have a lot of money, instead of complaining about being broke? Trish, too, as she's his manager?! Also, the only people who interview him are 10 year olds who shouldn't and realistically wouldn't be in show business anyway. How could these be angry about Austin lip synching if he does it all the time? (Oh come on it's obvious!)
All in all, pretty much decent if you don't mind nonexistent confusing plots and intolerable character development.
Liv and Maddie (2013)
So cliché and annoying. Hate it SO MUCH!
Arggggghhhhhhhh!!!!!!!
Hate hate hate hate hate this show more than death!!!! Get it off the channels!!!!! Let's take a look at the characters aka the banes of my existence!
Liv: so perkilicious it makes me want to make want to puke! Cute not. Pretty not. Good actor not. Hate this girl just like dove Cameron the ugliest ickiest evilest grossest bad bad actress EVER! Liv is a disgusting diva who tries to make amazing maddie Girly cuz apparently she's not as good as liv herself. Also a terrible singer.
Maddie: cool an all. I only like her cuz she's not girlified. Plus her "I'm gonna crush the other team but I'm too Whiney baby to get the boyfriend without being all jittery" stereotype is just plain awful.
Joey: idiotic gross looking nerd. I mean his hairs gross. And his voice is just so bleh like ew. This guy is just plain stupid and can leave the show. We won miss him. Bye bye!
Parker: kinda cool. But so gross. and annoying little brother stereotype is old news. Yawn!!!!.... Anyway
Mom: tired out poor lady. She's nice character but strives to be a cool mom and I hate how the moms in shows have to be not cool. Dad: ugly gross old man who needs to grow up and get over his problems. He is the most annoying character and is too loud. All the Disney shows have some kind of weird coach who yells constantly.
The plot is just terrible, a two year old knows what happens next before he theme song starts playing ( btw what does better in stereo mean? Like seriously?) and I could've come up with a better non cliché idea than opposing twins.
Horrible show.
Once Upon a Time (2011)
An amazing show with nice plot! Cannot hate
If you hate this show, you are either in need of medical assistance or need to get off drugs because it is impossible to hate Once Upon a Time! This is a wonderful documentation of what would happen if fairy tale characters that are alive and well had drama and family fueds. The characters and their acting are exquisitely fantastic and deserve a Grammy and an Oscar each. Especially deserving is Robert Carlyle, who plays rumpeltstiltskin. He has the best maniacal laugh and I love when he has to act devious as the dark one.
Belle, Jennifer Morrison, Ginnifer Goodwin, David, and many others are all equally deserving of awards and for their dramatic prowess. It's just phenomenal that they are able to be so brilliant and create an aura of mystique and horror in the show. Also I love their costumes and makeup jobs. They are creative and realistic and should win a prize for managing to not be cheesy.
More about costumes will be displayed in this paragraph. They have a great taste in color, style, and patterning, especially in flashbacks where it is during a certain era where they make it seem so real. The hairstyles too are interestingly tough to do and gives me a respect for the hair artists. For example, look at Regina's hairdos as the evil queen. The designs are so difficult and fresh yet old fashioned.
Did I mention Regina (aka Lana Parilla) is one of my personal favorites? She has a newly discovered acting air that surround her character in charisma, beauty, and mystery. This type of talent is not always seen in the world of acting. Her play on Regina makes her more mysterious, caring, loving, angry, and passionate than any other actress could. Lana Parilla needs to be on more television shows, directors, and it will raise your ratings 200%.
The special effects are not cheesy or unrealistic, as many evil nonbelievers may tell you. They are instead enlightening, breathtaking, and make you feel like you're in a new world of trolls and fairies. When a magical character, for example, throws a fireball or creates a cloud of smoke, I find myself gasping in delight. It's so inspiring to have childlike adventures transformed from animated baby show to adult entertainment without losing the honorable magic and excitement.
The plot and script are both glorious and contain witty jokes as well as romantic catchphrases. It has so many twists and turns, taking you on a magnificent roller coaster ride of pure fun mixed with adult humor and situations.
This show is a must-see. Once upon a time, I told you about ouat and you listened and discovered the world of magic, romance, drama, cat fights, special effects, and good acting.
Dog with a Blog (2012)
It's OK but most shows are better!
First off as I always do I describe characters and why I hate or like them.
Avery: I love g Hannelius as she is pretty and an excellent actress but this is not her best work yet. She is a silly girl who obsesses over things that aren't important. Like Wes. He is actually not as pretty as most guys (for example little kids I've seen are hotter) and he doesn't give a care about Avery except if she's pretty and popular and cool enough to be his girlfriend. Why must amazing Avery have to be normal? She just needs to be herself.
Tyler: a pretty boy with no sense of mind. Please Disney stop making bland stupid characters who are just there for comedy or as a problem for the main characters. Tyler is so obsessed with his doggone hair ( which is quite ugly I might add) he gets bad grades and works at a dang food truck! Is that really what you want to teach kids Disney? That you should give up good grades and your future to be pretty and cool? Uh uh. Not in my house you won't.
Chloe: an adorable girl I must say. She is one of those useless characters though. Like when they're talking about when Stan is sad (over nothing he's a wimp!), she tells the kids about sneaking Tyler saying eat your soup like a Russian. It's just plain there for comedy. However the audience has seen her true self and seen that she has a heart of gold trying to be comforting and that Chloe is clever.
Mom: idiot girl. She's bland and strictly comedy relief, although her jokes are nowhere near funny. She has her idiotic donkey laugh, which they randomly play the laugh track for, and she has her not witty at all " good one Ellen" after she makes a dumb ho hum joke attempt. Dad: bland. Comedy only but not funny. That's all this show is. He tries to do family oriented stuff such as building sheds with Tyler but it never works. Boring and ugly when he makes his " I'm a doctor I know best ( but I'm actually stupid) face. 😁
I only like Nikki the cute pretty good actress girl. She deserves way better than Tyler and sadly lost all the innocence she had in the first episodes. Now a baddie girl.
Stan: a dog. Funny and witty. The only real comedy. I love his little blogs at the beginning and end of shows. Plus it's a nice looking dog.
Overall OK show. Only 1 thumbs up but I quite like it
Jessie (2011)
So offensive and I hate it!
This is the worst show I've seen and trust me I've seen bad ones. Oh I hate these crummy characters.
Jessie: so annoying. I mean get a life. You're not gonna become famous and the whole " I'm a military chick" act is not funny and it's cliché. She can't control the kids and Morgan and Christina should fire her. Plus Debby Ryan is the worst Disney actress in history and her hair is annoying and she's not pretty people OK?!
Zuri: what a jerk! She is lazy, rude, selfish, not funny, unnecessary, and just makes me want to scream. The whole sassy backbreaking " I'm tough and black" vibe is just sickening. It doesn't work. I hope this girl falls in a pit of vipers.
Ravi: he's OK. Like the accent is so darn fake and I hate the " I'm Indian and you're all idiots" thing is getting old, but I like how he's smart and gets bullied instead of bullying.
Luke: hatred of him is essential. Like he is vomit inducing. The kid hits on girls in a vulgar disgusting manner and doesn't do any work, yet thinks he's all that. Go die in a hole or I'll do it rather than watch Luke do his " hi I'm a bully but I hit on girls rudely so like me" mannerisms.
Emma: what the heck is wrong with this childs brain y'all? She's so mega stupid and cares about nothing except clothes, lip gloss, and her own wants. Like get a life and go through therapy to gain a few brain cells. Her whole act of " I'm pretty so don't care that I'm an idiot" is awful.
Overall, this show stinks of stereotypes, ugliness, bad acting, rude scripts, bad manners, idiocy, lazy meanies, and gross punch lines. It depends on hoping kids are as brain dead as the characters. Not a chance Disney. Not a chance
I Didn't Do It (2014)
Really bad characters
Omg Disney why? You were so awesome and now look what happened. Where's good luck Charlie?
Anyway, so first the horrid characters: Linsey: she's such an annoying spoiled blonde who always has to get her way. Olivia Holt is usually a good actress but this is just sick. The guy: her brother. What an idiot! I mean his voice is too deep and he can't play a high school kid for his life. Delia: I love this girl. Only good character besides garret. She's so sweet and quirky and pretty. Garret: he's OK. They make fun of him for being careful, but he's the only smart one Jasmine: worst. Character. Ever. Like how can you be so stuck up and phone and boy obsessed? I hate this girl. The writings bad, acting leaves to be desired, and I hope somebody gets rid of it Worst Disney show yet
Full House (1987)
So sweet! Why don't you like it?
Oh sweet, sweet 80s and 90s.
This is a great show people OK? Don't listen to the haters I repeat don't. They have no clue what real TV is. This is great material.
OK so characters. Danny: clean freak. He's an OK part of the script, not my favorite. Joey: hilarious. Used for comic relief. He's a crucial funny part o the show. Jesse: a handsome man for the "omg guy" part. The girls the main kids. Dj: when younger she is a hoot. When older all she does is have romance. Stefanie: as a little girl she is the funniest apart from Joey. My favorite. But grownup she is too " o I got friendship problems" she needs to realize Gia is a bad friend and move on Michelle: cute kid. Kinda funny kinda not. The minim mediate family: Rebecca: she's nice and pretty. Prob best character. Twins: annoying I don't like them. Overall OK characters It's a great show. Don't miss out. Comes on nick at night from 7 to 9.
