OK so we have Rod Steiger in Al Capone in 1958 ..Then Neville Brand as Capone in The Untouchables TV series in 1959. Then Jason Robards as Capone in the St Valentines Day Massacre in 1966. Ben Gazzara in Capone 1975. Robert De Niro as capone in The Untouchables 1988. F Murray Abraham as Capone in Dillinger And Capone in 1990. Ray Sharkey in The Revenge Of Al Capone in 1991 Stephen Graham as Capone in Boardwalk Empire 2015 and now finally Tom Hardy in Capone... Every actor that has played Al Capone in the past have given the role their all. I own Every Al Capone movie and I can safely say that this movie is the best of them all and I will explain why... It's the first Capone movie to show Capone as a real human being instead of the power house he once was. This flick has much depth it almost brings a tear to the eye. We feel sorry for big Al in this movie and have mercy on his soul atleast that's how it made me feel. Tom Hardy is without a doubt the best Al Capone to grace the screen he is amazing. This is like watching the real Al Capone in real life it's that good. Rod Steiger was surely the Best Capone to date but this movie is on another level. We see Capone suffer and we want to rescue him from his pain. This movie really touched me deep it has many powerful scenes that are simply genius I can't wait to watch this for the 2nd time as I had the wrong expectations on the first viewing... There is no dvd release for this movie as it's on Netflix and blue ray but I managed to get hold of an original import copy on ebay before its Blue Ray release on 20th July. This movie is for the real mob movie fan like me one must know his Capone movies before watching this that's for sure. I give this movie a champion 10/10 it's a very important movie with a personal feeling of knowing big Al. Tom Hardy deserves an Oscar. As far as I'm concerned there are no weak spots in this film it's exactly how it should be of been made regarding direction,pace and soundtrack. The villa is so accurate as is Tom Hardys wardrobe and mannerisms .. Pure genius I cannot praise this movie enough its the best Al Capone movie ever made and perfectly cast . Hats off all round....

From now on nothing goes down unless I'm involved no blackjack no dope deals no nothing, if a Nickle bag gets sold in the park I want in.. You guys got fat while everyone's starved on the street, it's my turn mzzza!. This movie is off the hook and a real gangster flick. Christopher Walken and Larry Fishburn are unstoppable and unforgettable. It's moody , dark and realistic. Love how Walken take's ghetto youths under his wing as he know's their pain. There is no other movie like this anywhere it stands alone and the test of time .Cracking....

Ok I love Peaky Blinders and season 4 was amazing but this season the first 5 episodes were trash and have no redeeming sparks. The last episode tho is near perfect and almost makes up for the previous episodes .The opening scene with Winston Churchill being so good and followed by Michaels business plan was incredible , I couldn't believe this was the same series as the quality of dialogue and tension had just gone back to season 4 standards and then Tom Hardy is back from the dead lifting the whole season 5 proceedings from the gutter with only five minutes screentime. So a strange season indeed, complete rubbish til the final episode and then it chews up the previous five episodes and spits them on your carpet followed by a world changing Tom Hardy scene that couldn't of made more impact if he stabbed his dog in the eye. Personally I will never again watch episodes 1 to 5 as i honestly can't give them any rating at all as they are strictly bad padding. I will simply skip to the finale numerous times after watching seasons 1 to 4 , some personal editing so to speak. Oh and Mr Gold at the family meeting questioning Tommy''s plans is absolute quality , as I said the finale is near perfect even with the random cliffhanger leaving no closure it really doesn't take anything away from the episode as it''s so well played out...

First off all these negative reviews are a disgrace. Ever seen Gotti with Armand Ashanti, Getting Gotti with Anthony Dennison or Witness To The Mob with Tom Sizemore? Clearly not.... Those 3 actors who play John Gotti were amazing, in my opinion Tom Sizemore is the best and I can honestly say I never thought any actor could top that portrayal but then I just watched John Travolta and he deserves an Oscar. What is wrong with you people if you can't grasp a proper gangster movie then why watch one, people dislike what they don't understand, period! Now this movie is perfectly crafted the acting by all was solid, soundtrack fits bang on and the way the story is told is the best I've seen in a Gotti flick. You really have to know every character before watching and that's why the audience get lost in the details. This movie is for buffs who know the score. Travolta is smashing in his portrayal he so did his homework and clearly had watched all the other actors who played Gotti in the past and knew how to top it. His words at the end of the movie "if you lived a 1000 years you won't ever see a another guy like me" was the finishing touch that put his effort at the top of the heap. I pretty much own every gangster movie from Little Caeser 1931 to present day and Gotti is top notch. How many of you folks caught all the homages to previous gangster movies? as this flick is riddled with them throughout. People Diss Travolta but do they appreciate his previous work. Face Off, Pulp fiction, Pelham 123. His acting ages like wine and this movie proves he is at his peak. To all you haters out there watch the previous Gotti flicks and then make a fair judgement. I feel sorry for J.T for not getting the recognition for this film that he deserves but like the saying goes- when you do good they don't have anything good to say.... This movie gives fresh details while still showing briefly the things we already know. Blew me away but you see I'm one of the lucky ones that this movie was made for... Thanks J.T you Smashed it dude... Do more crime movies you were born for it. From a movie like Grease to a movie like Gotti is pure talent a real O.G. BLESSED....

Excellent movie.. Very well written,great character's,awesome soundtrack and gag's galore. From start to finish it keep's you entertained and is more enjoyable with repeat viewing's. Mr Blunder stole the show he light's up the screen, we really feel his chemistry with Macky and Will, what a trio. Hat's off all round. I am a major movie geek and this flick can't really be faulted on any level, any flaw's i noticed are not even worth mentioning as the budget here is clearly small and the director who is a newcomer has managed to pull off a masterpiece without huge production value's. I am a relative to three member's of the cast but this is an honest review as i would of slated this movie had it of been a turkey flop...For more insanity BONJOMONJAH@GMAIL.COM

Do not watch this movie it is a joke, Jeff Fahey is OK but the rest of the cast are awful. The plot is silly, the acting is terrible apart from Fahey. I was very disappointed as it could of been a good movie and im a big fan of B movies but this just takes the biscuit. Even the stunts are bad, for me a movie don't have to be perfect by any means but i simply could not tolerate this even though i sat through the entire movie.

All i can really say is avoid this flick it has nothing to offer witch is a big shame with Jeff Fahey looking very cool as the burnt out cop delivering some justice for his dead partner. Shame shame shame.......

This movie is outstanding yet i hated it the first time and thats because i expected a no brainer like Snatch, this movie is pure class. everyone in this delivers like a Long Good Friday. Revolver is the perfect movie because it has The Stath acting the best he ever has, Ray Liotta on his best form and Vinnie Pastore from Sopranos doing what he does best and with a script as good as Pulp Fiction. The greatest enemy is our ego and the Devil/Sam Gold in everyones head. when you are humble you have gods pure power of the mind and no movie in history has used that concept in a gangster movie..

yes i've had to watch this many times to grasp it but its worth the time. Its not only a great movie it has so much to teach. the best scene is in the elevator where Jake defeats his demon, superbly done. Some films were just meant to be made like Scarface, Usual Suspects, True Romance. Revolver is a masterpiece and high on that list, end of... of...

Opposite Corners. Its so unfair that this flick is known as such a flop there is nothing wrong with this at all its a great movie and i love it. Anthony Dennison always rules as a mobster just look at Ray Luca in Crime Story and John Gotti in Getting Gotti he simply owns his characters. Its got a great cast and a very unpredictable story. anyone who says they know what is going to happen in this film is psychic.

The mobster turns out to be gay then gets strangled by his best friends in a horrific scene at the end but even after hes dead he gets revenge on the mafia by leaving a bomb in a gym bag at the mob meeting place. Great stuff. Four people get strangled in this movie and one gets his head cut off by Billy the Butcher, funny name. this is so original and convincing. Dennison's son is going for the gold in boxing to please his dad who got send to jail before his own boxing career took off. i highly recommend this to mob lovers because those fans will have a great time here.

Best line in the film is "if i ever catch another man even ten feet of my wife i will bury them both in the same grave" Anthony Denison.

Where do i start.. this is like the Expendables of gangster actors and a true gem. there's not many mob films that i do not own, after seeing Getting Gotti and Gotti this beats them both mainly because of the great cast and Tom Sizemores performance. from Frank Vincent to Frankie Vally this movie has them all. Sopranos, Goodfellas, Casino, Gotti, Godfather, Once upon a time in America yes this epic has them all, this is one of my favourite mob movies with good reason..

It never gets tiresome its strictly gangster all the way, some great dialogue and visual shots. you just know they had lots of fun making this. Tuturro as Sammy Gravano is the best ever, very convincing and and a tough guy who means business. best line in the movie is "the next time you break a rule you go"....Big Paul Costallano

This movie rocks. Jimmy Corona is perfect in the lead role. Lots of laughs and plenty old faces from soprano's and other gangster films. This is one i watch when i want a good laugh and yet it still seems to hold serious at times. The characters are splendid. its fast moving all the way and has some great dialogue. Steve Bucemi pops up briefly and good as always. i would say give this movie a couple of tries as i bought this for the 3rd time after throwing it in the trash twice, it grows on you. the music score is perfect. The best line is "im with the bagatelle's now and you owe them money, this time next week you will not owe them money capish" Jimmy Corona/Jimmy Keys..

Love this movie. Billy Blanks on top form here as Nico looking for some justice. the training scenes are perfect and original. this is not a rip off of Bloodsport or Kickboxer it holds its own. The fight scenes are done very well, the steam room scene well I've never seen anything quite like that before and i was well impressed as was my 11 year old son who also thought it rocked. This film is underrated and deserves more recognition for sure. I've watched nearly all Billy Blanks movies over the last few weeks and this was my favourite short of King of the Kickboxers of course. I recommend this to lovers of fight flicks as you will not feel cheated after taking the time to watch it. anyone who hates this film must hate billy blanks or should stick to flawless movies..

Excellent crime film.. This is no ordinary movie. Emperor of the Bronx is a true classic of the 80's , granted some of the acting is a bit dry at times but this doesn't alter the film. The story is original its not about a gangster who climbs his way to the top its so much more than that. Personally i think it's a gem , they don't make films like this anymore. Smith is great as usual and its wall to wall violence. I love the vibe here so moving in places. The visiting room prison scene is a corker. I recommend this to crime film fans. I tried to find a copy of this movie for 8 years because the title grabbed me, when i finally bought and watched it i felt it was worth the wait.

Excellent action movie , Gary Daniel's spot on.... The mob boss is great and his troops. The movie has a good feel and tons of good action. I rate this as one of the best action movies with a good script.. I bought this for one pound and was money well spent.Cold Harvest,Riot,Rage,Game of Death,Forced To Fight and Recoil are Daniel's best films in my opinion. Good to see him in the first Expendables, as a villain once again the role suites him.

If you like action, Norris, Billy Blanks then this is a must see in my opinion, fast moving and perfect for a lazy afternoon. Gary is underrated but at least hes had some recognition.
