Everything is there, for a wonderful show, a continuation of the beloved 'the flying doctors' tv series (apart from the last season, which was terrible)..but, its a huge mish mash of ideas, bad storylines & acting! Too much was shoved into this first episode & its weakened it..trying to work out, who is connected to who & all the drama that happened, was very confusing..we didnt see a connection with the new doc & nurse, he bet on how long she'd last, there were some glances at her welcome party & they wind up in bed! We didnt see any true chemistry with these two yet! Also, with the brain operation, did we need to see it in such detail? Not everyone likes that & its not needed for this show! Can only hope, its able to 'find itself' & 'settle down', so it can blossom into the show we were hoping for & it promised!

We lasted 15 minutes..What a terrible terrible show! As an Australian, I am totally embarrassed by it!!! I love Ioan Guffudd & his job in this show is the same as in the wonderful TV series 'Forever' which should have been on for many many years..but, that is the only similarity apart from Ioan..The cast over act, and even Ioan's acting suffers from being around the rest unfortunately..He looks fantastic but it's jarring to hear Aussie slang that only someone who was either born here or came to this country as a young child would speak. His accent stands out among all the Aussies, and no way, would he speak that way! really odd..loved hearing the Aussie accents though. We end up, having to be detectives, to work out who is who, as characters just keep popping up everywhere, without any back story, as to who they are! It's a totally odd TV show. I'll get my 'Forever' DVD's out, and watch that again..I soo wished this show was good/watchable, its sadly not...feel for Ioan, who was shattered when 'Forever' ended the way it did..maybe next TV series...

whats on TV now, is pretty terrible..so I decided to see if any of my favourite TV series were now on DVD and discovered 'The Flying Doctors' was!! I bought this from the Crawfords store, the whole series also comes with as a bonus, the mini series!!! and the whole set looks fantastic!!! have started watching it..and its fantastic!!! some dodgy acting at times, but the heart and soul and the true Aussie characters and the scenery and music, cant be beaten!!! I'm soo glad I bought it, its a welcome change to whats on TV...brings back the innocence of TV again... its as good as I remembered all those years ago..and along with MASH, The Nanny, The Young Riders, its in my top 5 of all time TV series...My addiction to this series has been re awakenend..and cant wait to watch some every night!! Can understand, why people from other countries want to be involved in the flying doctors or visit the outback.. as the RFDS plane soars, so do you!!!! magnificent!!!!
